Open NAT problems with Xbox One .

When I first got my 1900ac I used Media Priortization to get an open NAT for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on my Xbox One ; prioritizing the Xbox . It worked fine for about 6 months until I changed cable/net provider to Nextech in Ks. This company uses the 1900ac to hook up it's system for all it's customers ( since I already had one they're using mine ). Unfortunately I'm unable to get an open NAT in this game anymore ; I've tried just about everything , NAT forwarding , triggering , Media Prioritization . Nextech support & Xbox Live support , useless . Tried Portforward . com , nothing . Forwarding port 53 cuts off net connection & doing the static ip change for Xbox didn't help . Almost everything I've looked at seems out of date & I'm at my wits end . It would seem by now Linksys should have solutions available , any ideas ?

Thank you chin_pamz13 for your response . I tried to check if my modem had a public or private ip address but I'm not sure how to do that ; I've read about double NAT's elsewhere . Regardless , I think I've finally found a solution that seems to be working so far . I went to the website " tech - recipes . com " & found an article , " Xbox One open NAT " by Aaron St. Clair . I tried his first suggestion about port triggering , with extra ports I had'nt seen before . That did not work for me so I followed his instructions for putting the Xbox in the DMZ & it's working ! I think my problems from before were the result of improperly setting up the static ip address for my router & Xbox . Previous instructions had me changing the ip in the console along with the router ; Aaron said not to do so in the Xbox , let the router do the work it's supposed to do & make sure the settings in the console are on automatic . In the router at the DMZ , I was'nt sure how to proceed , but at the bottom is a section labeled DHCP reservations list ; clicked on that , saw XboxOne , clicked on that & it filled out the MAC address above for me . Then I went to the Xbox network settings , advanced settings & clicked " automatic " at ip address , subnet & DNS . I checked mutiplayer connections & did the " hold bumper & trigger buttons " trick & finally got an open NAT ; fired up CoD Advanced Warfare & got the open NAT there also . I may have screwed up when I did the port triggering but since the DMZ fix seems to work I'm going to leave things alone . Hope this helps others with open NAT problems .

  • Moderate Nat On PS4 & Xbox One

    Hello There!
As the title says my PS4 and Xbox One Are both Having Moderate Nat Problems And Im Pulling My Hair Out, Any Help ?

    G33MAN wrote:
Yeah but did you do the multiplayer test and then hold all the bumper buttons and the two triggers ? It works just google xboxx one wireless issues and one of the very first links is by MS telling people to do this to open the nat.
Yes but this is only temporary.
As soon as you restart even in energy saving mode the nat goes moderate again.
I am using wired as well so the problem isn't just with wireless.
I think the xbox one has major UPnP bugs that makes it incompatible with the bthomehubs.
The only NAT I can get to stay open is call of duty ghosts. Thats through port forwarding port 3075.
But the xbox one dashboard is having problems even though I port forwarded port 3074.
I think the problem is that the home hub overwrites this port forward rule whenever I switch on my xbox 360 as the xbox 360 opens port 3074 by UPnP. I still get open NAT on the 360 suggesting the home hub has allowed the 360 to steal port 3074 which is when I start getting the nat problems on xbox one.
Oh and can someone with a bit of knowledge explain what this cone NAT is and whether it is a problem?

  • Opening NAT settings for Xbox

So recently I tried opening NAT settings so I could use my Xbox Live more efficiently. Unfortunately, I know nothing about computer networking. Is there anything I can do to get this up and working?

Unfortunately, the AirPorts are not listed as Xbox Live-compatible routers ... so there is no guarantee doing this will get Open NAT status for Xbox Live!
The following web blog does a great job explaining the NAT issues with Xbox Live! Basically what it comes down to is that although you can get an Internet connection for the Xbox with the AirPorts, you may not get the necessary NAT setting (Moderate or Open) for the Xbox Live! on-line game that you want to play. As such, you basically have two options: 1) Create a DMZ (Apple calls this a Default Host) for the XBox or 2) Configure the AirPort for Port mapping to open the required ports to allow Xbox Live! access ... or 3) Use a compatible router.
    Option 1 - Create a DMZ
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT
Enable default host at: <Enter the IP Address for the XBox>
Option 2 - Configure Port Mapping
The following ports must be available for Xbox Live to operate correctly:
    UDP 88
    UDP 3074
    TCP 3074
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the Xbox 360.
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP tab
Click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
    Reserve address by: MAC Address
    Click Continue.
MAC Address: <Enter the MAC hardware address of the Xbox or the MAC address of the wireless depending on how you connect the XBox to the network.>
IPv4 Address: <enter the desired Private IP address>
    Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT > Configure Port Mappings
    Click the "+" (Add) button
Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    Public UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Public TCP Port(s): 3074
Private IP Address: <enter the DHCP Reserved IP address for the Xbox you created earlier>
    Private UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Private TCP Port(s): 3074

    This is the issue...
One on computer I'm getting 19mbs download and 4mbs upload and the other I'm getting 6mbs download and 3mbs upload.
The Xbox, Neither of them have a good strong connection to the router, Neither of them have open NAT types and all cables running from the router the both Xbox are high performace gold connection wires.
Any Suggestions on how to fix the NAT types on both Xbox and get my download speed and upload speed on the slow computer up to the performace of the other??

  • Chart - problem with realize one of the function under CR XI

    Post Author: mrowa
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
    Hello,
    I have
problem with realize one of the function under CR XI. I would be persuade if
any of us would like to help me.
    1)
    1) From
database (basically from one table), I take data to make report. Each of record
    have appropriate fields:
    dteData
    intYear
    intMonth
    intDate
    2)
    2) I
want to realized comparison data from two or more periods of time on one chart
and in one table. For easily explanation I will describe problem on two
periods. For instance, user want to display and compare
on chart date (type monthly -sum data of each month) from 2007.02 u2013 2007.05
    with date from 2006.03 u2013 2006.06. So we compare month 2007.02 with 2006.03;
    2007.03 with 2006.04; 2007.04 with 2006.05; 2007.05 with 2006.06
On char I would like to display bars with comparison
    of months.
Problem is that I donu2019t know how to write
something similar. I can use one period without any problems, but two and mores
    I canu2019t realized.
    Detail description:
    I passed
    two parameters two report:
    {?from}, {?to} u2013for first period
    {?offset}, it means {?from}+{?offset},
    {?to}+{?offset}  - for second period
    On axis Y I have Sum(intDate);On
X (year + month). But on each value x( example 20007.02) I need to have
two values (bars). Value for standard period and offset.
For example for x=2007.02, I need
two bars one equal 2007.02 and second with offset u2013 2006.03
Movement to next value (bar) is
persuade by fields {data.rok}&{data.month} first or second period. This is
combination of two elements year&month defined under Formula. Problem
persist in that both period has different year.month and here problem starts once
again. I donu2019t know how to solve it. I have found out one solution but it
limits user only for two periods (I want to compare more).
My idea for compare only two
    periods:
I make one query in CR for one
period and second query for second period.
    Firs query:
    "SELECT
           year ,
          month
    Second query
    "SELECT
           year + FLOOR({month + offset} % 13),
          {month + offset} % 13
Then in CR I connect two periods and
make u201Ctableu201D (results of queries) with JOIN on fields year and month.
    This solution is not functional,
because I need to make reports for days and hours as well. In this solution I
canu2019t use (%31), because not all months has 31 days.
I use CR in WEB app made in Visual
Studio 2005. Maybe from aspx we can manipulate with date to get exact solution,
    and solve problem with SELECT.
    Hope my description clearly
describe problem and someone will be able to help me. I would be thankful.

I have had similar problem before.
Because I had too many data, the legend would not display all the data. Also the chart would not display all the data. But I was able to find a work around.
In your case, Right click on the Legend text and click on Format Legend Entry.
Change the font of the legend to 4 (which is the minimum). This may work.
If you are also having problem with data labels, you could change the font size of the data labels.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you.

  • Linksys EA4500 Strict NAT with Xbox One

    Hey all,
I just got a Xbox One and I use my wireless router (EA4500) for it. I've used it before on my Xbox 360 and I have had an open NAT but now all I have is strict.
I've done some searching on the web such as port fowarding and what not but no such luck. I was wondering if anyone can help me with my current problem?
    Thanks in advance!

Do you know if your router is getting a public IP Address from your ISP? If you are then just enabling UPNP should be enough. Keep in mind that if you have two xbox's then the first one to grab the ports will have open nat.
If you get a private IP Address from your ISP then strict nat is all you will get.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • Linksys E2000 (2 Xbox 360's and 1 PS3) Open Nat Problem

    Hi everyone,
I recently bought the Linksys E2000 for my house so i could enjoy wireless internet. The problem is i have two Xbox 360s which one is wired and the other wireless. It seems that i can't have both Xboxs with OPEN NAT and whichever one connects to the router first is the one to have OPEN NAT no matter what. This leaves the other Xbox with MODERATE or STRICT. Is there a way to have both open at the same time? If anybody knows help would be appreciated! Thanks
**I have a PS3 also connected wirelessly, but that one is always OPEN. Didn't know if that would affect my PS3's NAT if i were to change the setting on my router.

Here's a checklist. Got it here.

  • Linksys e2000 router Open NAT troubleshooting multiple xbox 360's

    Hello,
I've been searching for about 4 hours now how to fix my NAT problems. I thought it had it working on one xbox in my bedroom, as it said OPEN NAT. But, when I looked at my Xbox in the living room, it said MODERATE NAT. How can I get these both to say OPEN NAT? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

If you're attempting to game with multiple 360s, port triggering would be your best option.
You might succeed in getting open NAT on both but the issue would be if you'd be able to play the same game on both consoles simultaenously. Since both consoles will use the same Internet port, the game packets will only be sent to one local IP address. Some games support this and some don't so if you're unable to get open NAT on both game consoles, call your ISP and request for another IP address. That should solve everything.

  • WRT600N Open NAT Problem

I have a wrt600n router with the current firmware on this site which is 1.01.36 build 3. I use this router mainly for playing Xbox 360 games online and everytime I reset the router the NAT is open for about 24 hours then it goes back to being either moderate or strict NAT. I already tried forwarding ports 88 and 3074 on the router for my Xbox 360 and then changed the MTU size to 1364 but the NAT still only stays open for about 24 hours then it goes back to moderate or strict which I really do not want to happen. I have been having this problem with this router ever since I have had it which has been about 8 months now and I also have the same problem with my Playstation 3, and yes it does have the most current firmware. Ant help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Problems with Xbox live & WRT120N.

Post-script: I've already read just about every thread having to do with Xbox live. None helped me at all.
Well, I just got a WRT120N router recently and I love it. It's fast, and the WiFi range is phenomenal.
Bt, Xbox live doesn't work. I just CAN'T connect. Plain and simple. I get no error message or reason,
just suggestions that don't work. I've probably reset my router/modem 20 times today. No joke.
I've got one of those Wireless N Network adapters for my 360. With my old connection, I could connect.
It was slow, and it sucked, but I could still connect. I don't know what the problem is. My laptop
picks up the internet and I ALWAYS have a full connection anywhere in the house. The wired computers work great,
What do I do? If there are any questions or suggestions for me, go on ahead. I'll do whatever it takes to get this working.

    Try this..
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box, click Save Settings once done...
    2) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
    4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your XboxIP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
    5) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox
Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
    6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
    7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...

  • How to get a open NAT type with a linksys E2000 on PS#

I called customer service and they were completely clueless, told me I had to pay for the Tech support to fix it. I have a Linksys E2000 and I cannot get a open nat for my PS3, tried the DMZ, and XBox settings but that obviously didnt work. So anybody have any ideas before I return this $100 router???
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I've been having the same problems but on my Xbox.  I'm going to try this:
    On router:
    1 - Status tab
        Get DNS 1 & 2
    On Xbox:
2 - Static IP on Xbox
        IP: 192.168.1.xxx
        Mask: 255.255.255.0
        GW: 192.168.1.1
3 - DNS Addresses on Xbox
    On router:
    4 - Forward ports
        TCP 80
        UDP 88
        Both 53, 3074
    5 - Security tab
        uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests
        disable uPnP?
    6 - Reset devices
I'll let you know how it goes.

  • RMI-NAT Problem with random ports

    Hi,
I had a RMI server in a machine with the private IP 10.XX.XX.XX and a firewall with the public IP 196.XX.XX.XX
I am using the property: java.rmi.server.hostname to 196.XX.XX.XX and a small test application. The server is behind the firewall/NAT machine with a limited set of open ports (including the non standard 8001 port that I am using instead 1099)
    1. The server start perfectly
    2. The client can connect to the server and execute the method Naming.list() successfully
    3. At the moment that the client attempt to perform the bind, the client hang up for almost 7 minutes and finally throws and exception due time-outs.
According a "strace" and "netstat" commands under Linux and also the flag: java.rmi.server.logCalls we obtain the next data:
    1. The server open the port 8001 (PERFECT)
    2. But also open a random port and the client -at the bind moment- use that port (in the range 34000-35000). And of course our firewall block all the ports except 8001.
So, is that the expect behaviour? If that is true then RMI is not functional under NAT/Firewall.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks!!
    Gerardo

    Hello,
Let me see if I got it right:
    1. You're starting the registry (programatically) in port 8001.
    2. You're creating a server implementation object.
    3. Next you bind/rebind your server to this registry.
    4. Your client hangs at Naming.lookup().
If this is the problem then that random port you mentioned is the server's attributed port (a ServerSocket that is hanging on accept) at the time of creation. You can avoid this by instead of using the super() call in you serverimpl constructor using the UnicastRemoteObject constructor that specifies a port (check the interface). That way you can configure your firewall to allow traffic through that port too.
However, what puzzles me is the fact that it hangs on step 4 instead of in a subsequent remote call. step 4 should be using port 8001. Can you confirm that it's hanging in Naming.lookup ?
(two other sources of data you may find usefull are the Firewall logs and a tcpdump analisys of the traffic between the firewall and the server machine)

  • Trying to change NAT connection from moderate NAT connection to an open NAT connection for XBOX LIVE

Hi, I have a Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router/WRT160Nv2 and I have been trying to change my NAT connection from a moderate NAT connection to a open NAT connection for my Xbox Live on my Xbox 360. I can sign into my Xbox Live account but it is working on a moderate NAT connection. I have already enabled the UPnP and put in the proper port numbers. After doing that I signed into my Xbox Live on my Xbox 360 and tested my Xbox Live connection and still it says that I a moderate NAT connection. I do not know what elso to do and I would greatly appreciate step by step help from anybody who knows what they are doing. PLEASE HELP ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!

A known issue with Linksys routers is the NAT Type 3 or anything related to dropping of Internet connectivity during play time.  Network Address Translation (NAT) is the ability of a router or firewall to translate a public IP address to a private IP address and vice versa.  It adds security to the network by keeping the private IP addresses hidden from the outside world.
