Open ODS view in BW 7.4 SP 6

I have the following doubts regarding Open ODS view in BW 7.4
What is the benefit of Open ODS view over Transient Provider (how they are different from each other) ?
Can we use Open ODS view in Composite Provider and Multiprovider ?
According to below link , we can create Open ODS view from Hana Studio .We also have the option to create Open ODS view from BW(please refer the below image).what is the difference between creating Open ODS view from BW and from Hana Studio?

Hello Safiullah,
Open ODS view is useful when you want to bring in a DB table or view into BW system where as Transient provider is for importing HANA information models (Analytical & Calculation views).
We can't use Open ODS view in Composite and Multi Provider where as we can include Transient provider in both composite and multi providers.
We can create Open ODS view from both BW and HANA studio (BW Modelling perspective), both are one and the same.

Why Open ODS views ?

Hi Experts,
we are running on SAP BW powered by HANA.
where we are installed BW modelling tool in HANA system to create our own bw schemas.
we are creating the VIews( attribute/cal/analytic).
also creating open ods views in BW modelling in HANA,
i have below doubts
1) what is the main difference between open ods views and hana views (attribute/cal/analytic) ?
2) why con't we replicate HANA views ( attribute/cal/analytic) directly into BW, without Open ODS, since open ods also contains (attribute/cal/analytic) as a source views.
please some one give clear understanding on this.

Hi Rajesh,
License is one of the reasons. We are licensed only to use BW on HANA, so in this case we can't load data directly to HANA tables.
1) Same case with smart data access, We can't use HANA studio to create create smart data access to create view on top of it . From a BW perceptive we have to use open ODS view to consume smart data access.
2) If you want to use SLT for replication, the only option we have is Operational Data Provider (ODP) or Web service as data source.
To get BW on HANA and HANA live you need full HANA enterprise edition, which is expensive.

but we have other reports that come from other machines with different odbc connection
and this its not working when opens the report asks for credentials
and i cannot use the remote ip for these reports that come from other machine

if i cannot connect to remote ip to open the report
for each report i have to create a database the report database on my machine and then open the report ?
or there is some other way to open the report ?

Go to the support site for the provider of the MRI software.
Sounds like it windows/PC. I have ran across that for the CDs that veterinarians provide for digital x-rays.
I would try on a PC or on yuur Mac with Windows via BootCamp or a virtual machine like VirtualBox

In Mail, I can not open a viewer window

I just had my hard drive replaced on my 27 inch imac. It came back with a new operating system (OSX10.7.5) Along with that it had several software updates. One of which was Mail. It is now at version 5.3. When I went to open it, it asked to transfer over all the old to the new. So it did but once that was over it never opened a viewer window. I then went to FILE to "Open viewer window". That didn't work either. I right clicked on the Mail icon in my dock and it said it wasn't responding so I had to force quit. Same results happen everytime I open MAIL. Please help.

With Mail open press Command + Option + Esc to force quit the Mail app.
Then restart your Mac and try Mail.

First step is set the SCREEN TYPE as "Modal Dialog Box" in screen property tab.
Then in PBO of the popup screen take a new GUI status and select DIALOG BOX as status type.
Then assign some function code in 'X' button say 'CANCEL'.
the put ur logic like below :

Unable to open and view photos in iphoto

I am unable to view my photos in iphoto, or from anywhere else on my computer. iphoto looks normal but is running very slow. My thumbnails are all there. I will click on a thumbnail, but the border turns from yellow to light blue, but the photo does not open for viewing, editing, or slideshow. I have a MacBookPro, MAC OS X 10.6.8. iphoto version 8.1.2
I have tried to open photos from my external hard drive without success. Also, I can't attach a photo to an email. When I attempt any of these things, this type of error message pops up:

Opening a view from another view of the same window in diff Browser.

Hi Experts,
My requirement is to open a view (say view 2) from another view (say view 1) with click of a button in a different browser, both the views are embedded into the same window, and also i have to pass some data from view1 to view2, based no the input data, i am displaying some information. Also both views belog to the same component.
Some pointers on this would be of great help.

You would need to open another window.
See if_wd_window and if_wd_window_manager.
Call the GET_API to get a handle to window manager.
The new window can show V2.
The original Window with 2 views,
must fire plug to navigate v2 to empty view to hide it from Window1.
The to Views talk to one another via WDC Controller.
View 2 calls WDC controller methods. The WDC controller the fires Event.
View 1 can listen to this event with a method of type event handler.
View 1 can for example react to button on View 2 and close WINDOW 2.

Yeah, just as said above, you need to convert it to iPad supported video formats first and then sync it back to the iPad.
Chek the iPad Supported Video and Audio Formats first.
