Open or convert CS6 file to CS5 without CS6

Hi,
I need to open a CS6 file and convert it to CS5 but cannot as I DO NOT have CS6 trail anymore, just CS5. Is there away I can email my file over to Adobe to convert my file and get it sent back?
Regards,
James

No, but I'll convert it for you, or you can download a CS6 trial and do it yourself.

  • Lightroom won't open TIFF or JPEG files to CS5

Recently upgraded to a new iMac. This morning when I tried to open a TIFF file from Lightroom 3.4.1 into Photoshop CS5 I got a message saying: Lightroom was unable to prepare the selected file at /Volumes/Drobo1/Photos/2011/02-14-2011 Yellowstone/Yellowstone-0641-Edit.tif for editing.
    It will not be opened.
The only way Lightroom will open a TIFF or JPEG image to CS5 is if I tell it to open a copy of the image with Lightroom Adjustments. If I say I want to edit the original or a copy, it won't do it.
If I go into CS5 and open the TIFF there, it works fine, so the problem doesn't seem to be with CS5.
Lightroom WILL open RAW files into CS5 without any error message.
I'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.8, which was upgraded yesterday and am wondering if that's the problem since I could open TIFFs on the new computer before.

Do you have full permissions to the DROBO folder the files are in?  I'm a Windows person so I can't tell you how to check this, but upgrading a OS and then things not working might be related to permissions where the files were created with a profile on the previous OS.

  • Cannot open Nikon 1V2 Raw files in CS5

    Hello!
I cannot open Nikon 1V2 Raw files in CS5
Camera Raw Version is 5.0.0.178, PS CS5 Version 11.0.2
Anyone have a suggestion that does not involve upgrading to a newer version of Photoshop?
    Thanks!
    Kelly

Does this mean that I can't get Camera Raw 7.3 with Photoshop CS5?
    Naturally.
Photoshop CS5 does not use ACR 7.
I did read about using the free DNG Converter but that seems like an extra step I would prefer to avoid if possible.
Either upgrade Photoshop or use another means to process the RAW files, and cost-wise DNG Converter can hardly be beat.

I just purchased the new Canon SX60 camera. Despite downloading and installing the latest version of Adobe DNG converter, I receive an error message saying that Photoshop CS4 can't open up/convert raw files (.CR2). This is the same file format as used by the SX50, with which I never had any problem. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras  I do not see that SX60 as supported. Just how new is the SX60 when was it announces. Its support is not even listed in ACR 8.7 RC

You most likely have the clipping indicator on that shows you blown out areas.  Click the little triangle in the upper right of the histogram to turn it on or off.

  • CS6 Cannot Convert PM Files but CS5.5 Can

    Hello,
I have just purchased CS6 (I need this version since I have to convert many PageMaker files). I was able to convert some PM files which do not have many graphics, but for those which has several graphics, CS6 cannot convert them. The "Processing Stories" window appeared but became non-responsive and I have to force CS6 to quit with the Task Manager.
However, If I use CS5.5 (I installed the CS5.5 Trial version before I purchased CS6), I was able to convert ALL PM files without any problems, no matter how many graphics are in the documents.
Does anyone know why CS6 couldn't convert but CS5.5 can?
As of now, I have to use CS5.5 to convert the PM files, then export them into IDMLs, then open them in CS6. But my CS5.5 Trial will expire in about 20 days, after that, I don't think I can use it anymore.
So I would really like to solve the CS6 issues before my CS5.5 Trial expires.
    Any comments/suggestions are much appreciated.
    Thank you.
PS:  I have emptied the InDesign Recovery folder whenever CS6 crashed.

    Hi Peter,
Yes, that's what I am planning to do. I just thought maybe someone might have the same issues as mine and can shed some light on how to fix it.
I wish Adobe will let me use the License number for CS6 with CS5.5 also. But I found out that you cannot. I guess that's how Adobe make a profit. Every time you upgrade to a different version, you have to buy another license.
    Thank you.

  • How to open Nikon D7100 Raw files in CS5? [was:CS5]

Hi, i uses CS5 and it works well with all my raw file from my Nikon camera untill i got a new Nikon D7100 camera. All files from the D7100 could not be open using cs5 and it says files not supported. Wonder what i need to do in order for me to read those file via cs5?

The D7100 was first supported in Adobe Camera Raw 7.4 which is only compatible with CS6 and later.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
    Some options:
    Upgrade to CS6
    Join the Cloud
    Join the Photoshop Photography Program
    Buy Photoshop Elements 12
Free option: Download the free Adobe DNG Converter, convert all D7100 Raw files to DNGs then open the DNGs in CS5

  • Raw File update: how to open Sony RX100 III files in CS5?

I cannot download updates for CS5 Extended for Sony Raw.
How can I update my Photoshop CS5 Extended to permit it to handle Raw files from my Sony RX100 III on my Mac?

Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
The RX100 III was first supported in Camera Raw 8.5 which is only compatible with CS6 and later.
So there is no Camera Raw plugin for CS5 which will open Raw files from that camera.
    Options:
    1. Upgrade to CS6
    2. Join the Cloud
    3. Free option: download the Adobe DNG Converter, convert all RX100 III Raw files to DNG format then edit the DNG files in CS5 Photoshop Help | Digital Negative (DNG)

  • Converting CS3 files to CS5

Hi, Just a quick question. We have been using DW CS3 for quite some time and have a fairly basic website using it. We are thinking about going to CS5. Is the converting of the files in the  website project folder (which is offline) going to be a problem? We would like to upgrad to make use of some of the new features and so we can be compatable with outside devlopers we want to have work on the site. Thanks!

Yes. I posted something on another thread that seems related so I
will try to elaborate. I have files that were created in Dreamweaver
CS3 and recently upgraded to CS5. I have both programs still on my
system, which is Mac OS 10.6.8. When I try to open the CS3 files in
CS5 I cannot do so because the site and html files is not there
visually. This is why I asked about the need to convert. I did find a
way to do something which is hinky but, I will share it since it is
so simple and seems to solve the other problem as well.
I opened the site file in CS3. opened the site management and
exported the site to a new folder. Now the site is visible and I can
open all the files inside CS5. It does create an extra site file, so
I just deleted that one and am left with a usable site in CS5.
I plan to copy off the sites to a new folder and then proceed rather
than overwriting the old ones, just in case.
I hope this helps someone else.
    Mari

  • How do I convert a file to PDF without subscribing?

I just downloaded Adobe Reader X, I'm running Windows 7, When I try to convert a file to PDF I'm required to subscribe? I thought this was free? Any ideas?

Adobe Reader is free - and it reads PDF files; it doesn't create them.
Adobe CreatePDF and ExportPDF are online subscription services for people who don't want to buy Acrobat. There are links from inside Adobe Reader so users can find those services more easily, but functionally they're unconnected to Reader.

  • Horrible Adobe Chat Experience - How to open Canon 6D Raw files in CS5?

Hi, I just had an awful Adobe Chat experience with agent Dharma. I waited a very long time and when Mr. Dharma finally was able to help me, he wasn't able to. I was told that my product would no longer be supported and I couldn't be helped by Adobe because it was CS5. I was also sent to a faulty link. Anyway, I recently purchased a Canon EOS 6D and when I tried uploading my photos to Photoshop CS5 it said my RAW photos could not be supported. I followed the appropriate links for support and help.
My CS5 is updated, the Adobe Bride is updated. The extension for the photos is CR2 and they will not show the thumbnails in bridge and won't load in Photoshop. I need help. Now, I am hoping Adobe will support it's product and customer.

As each new camera comes out, Adobe have to write the code that enables Camera RAW to work with its RAW files.  It is nrealistic to expect them to keep doing this for all previous versions of Photoshop.  The Canon 6D needs ACR7.3 which Photoshop CS6

    You have several alternatives.
As an owner of CS5 you can take up the BUndle deal at $10 a month.
You can download the free DNG conversion software, and convert your CR2 files to DNG which CS5 can read.
You can buy Lightroom 5, oir even Lightroom 4 (if you can still find a copy)
I'd go with the Bundle deal.  There is a lot more to CC than reading Canon 6D RAW files.

  • Can't open InDesign 5.5 file in CS5.5

We've received a set of InDesign files from a designer which has been created in CS5.5.  I just tried to open the indd file on our production laptop, using InDesign CS5.5 and I'm getting an error message 'CannotConvertNewerDocument'.
I can't understand why this might be happening - I've tried searching forums but can't seem to find anyone else with the same issue.  Has anyone else come across this?
The laptop is running Windows 7.
    Thanks

    Absolutely saved as CS6:
Here's your IDML file which should open fine. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2548785/ABSINT9vaknr.idml

  • How do I convert a file to PDF without subcribing or paying a fee?

My old computer (which had Visa) I could right click on most any file and I had three options to conver a file to PDF.... ( Convert to Adobe PDF, Convert to Adobe PDF and EMail, Combine supported file in Acorbat....) which was great!! Now that I have my new computer with Windows 7, I can't seem to find this program without subscribing or paying a fee? Does anyone know where I can find it and how I can get the options back when I right click on a file?

You previously had Adobe Acrobat installed, which is not free.
Adobe do not have any free products or services for making PDF.
You need to go back through the disks and licenses you got with your old computer. Though in some cases (e.g. some Dell computers) there is a bundled Acrobat which cannot be transferred.

You can get A converter that will convert between PDF, EPS, and PS
file formats. It works on a Windows, Mac, or LINUX/UNIX box, and is
called AFPL Ghostscript. You can dowload it for free at
    http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/
The site also has a large amount of documentation on using it,(as well
    as a free viewer) b
ut I haven't had a lot of time to experiment with
    it.

  • Opening Canon T2i raw files in CS5 Photoshop

ACR 5.7 for CS4 opens raw files from my Canon T2i. CS5 Photoshop will not open my files. Did I really just pay $600 to take a step backward in camera compatibility? I have looked through the documentation and on the website and have now been on hold for 25 minutes with Adobe. Should it be this hard to get a simple answer?

Camera Raw 5.7 (CS4) came out after Camera Raw 6.0 (CS5) was frozen for production.  Nine cameras that are in 5.7 are not in 6.0.  The T2i is on that list. You must wait for the 6.1 upgrade due out 'soon'.   See:
