Open page in another app

Hello!
I would really like to consolidate my math teaching with 1:1 iPads into some new form of media. I use videos in and out of the class so this could be a neat way to deliver. I was wondering if there is a way to have a worksheet, PDF, embedded in the iBook so that a student clicks it and then has the option to open it into a notebook app. I'm thinking this may only be possible with an Internet link and the PDF being hosted on some server?

The PDF would be linked from a server and the hand off would then go to either Safari or back to iBooks. If it is a live PDF form, you'd stick with Safari and keep it on the server, but then you'd be doing logins, etc.
In the end, as it sounds like you're entertaining a lab tool, these types of interactivity seem to accumulate and hint at an iOS app, instead of a book, tho, I think.

Generalizing the return page number when linking to a page in another app

Hello.
I know how to link to a page in another app within the same workspace. However, my problem arises when the user tries to go back to the page in the first app.
Is there a way to "generalize" the "return path". I do not want to hard-code the return page number within a "back link" element on the target page. I was wondering if there is some sort of substitution string I can use in the return http address that automatically "knows" what the returning page number is. Hope I'm making sense here.

Apex standard tabs do submit the page and fire after-submit computations defined on the calling page before branching to the "current" page for the tab you click on.

Proceed with what? You CAN'T merge them.

Open ibook from another app, open ibook from another app

I am preparing some presentation, so i want to open an particular ibook in ibook app via another app on click event . Click event is such as <a href="path" ></a>.But i am not getting that particular ibook path. I can open ibook app using url Scheme i. e. "ibooks://", but how to pass parameter for paricular ibook.

Unable to open page in oracle app server but able in tomcat

Hi,
I am able to run my webapplication (survey) using tomcat and MySQL to do my web application (Work at home). However, when I copy my source files(.java and .jsp) to my existing program at my workplace, (I uses "window .open" to open my survey in another window) I encountered a blank page. I have added a controller(servlet) and have amended the web.xml file to include the controller. Would really appreciate is someone can help. Do i need to restart my application server if there are additional controller and amendments to the web.xml files? I am using Jdeveloper, oracle application server and oracle DB. Thanx!

Hello,
It is not clear how the application is packages, but to deploy a Web Application on OracleAS, you should package it in a WAR (Web Archive) Have you done that?
You should not deploy by simply "copy file", but packaging the WAR, and use Enterprise manager (or command line), take a look to your server http://server:port/em

Open pages doc failure, app craches

when trying to open a specific document the app break down . I tried to do it from icloud.com and received a message that it was not possible to download . all other dokumnets works fine?

Hi Ron,
As you know, you are trying to use Pages 09, but what the program is telling you is that you are using Pages 08. When you install 09, 08 is not deleted, and the Dock Icon may still be linked to 08.
Drag your Pages icon off the Dock to eliminate it. Then navigate to Pages 09 in the Application Folder and drag it to the Dock to establish the correct link.
Also context-click a .pages file and select +Get Info+. Select +Pages 09+ in the +Open With+ dialog and then click +Change All+. Make sure that you are getting the Pages app from the iWork 09 folder.

IOS/Android client - Open document from another app

Hi,
Is it possible to call the SAP Mobile Documents client for Android and/or iOS directly opening some specific document?
I would like to know if I can integrate Agentry Work Manager with Mobile Documents, so the goal is to have some kind of link for each Work Order document in the Agentry client, and when user taps on it, open the related document already synched and stored in the Mobile Documents client (it should work offline).
Is this possible?

Hi,
SAP Mobile Documents can connect to many backends (CMIS compliants ones, ABAP backend etc..)
Each documents in the backend through SAP Mobile Documents can be accessed by unique URL.
These URLs are described here: URLs for App-to-App Integration of SAP Mobile Documents - SAP Mobile Documents - SAP Library
You have to simply fire these URL from your app and SAP Mobile Documents Mobile Apps will highlight or open it for your based on your type of URL.

Using jump menu in one frame to open page in another frame - works in IE but not Firefox

Hi,
I'm a beginner designer. I've been working to create a template for a website in which there is a banner in a frame across the top and three frames beneath - left for navigation and middle and right for content that can be compared.
I have created two jump menus in the left frame using Dreamweaver's option for it (insert/forms/jump menu): one menu to load pages in the middle frame (in the code this is 'left') and one menu to load pages in the right frame (in the code this is 'right'). Both menus use a go button.
Using Internet Explorer and allowing active content to run it works fine. In Firefox clicking 'go' does nothing however I have links in this navigation that will open a page in the middle or right ('left' and 'right') frames and if I use these the jump menus will now work.
How can I get it to work straight off?
Any feedback is welcome (except regarding not using frames!).

It might be due to the fact that you're using XHTML 1.0 Transitional, a DOCTYPE that does not support framesets. Try converting to HTML 4.01 Transitional or HTML 4.01 Frameset if you do not need or understand XHTML. Or use XHTML 1.0 Frameset if you really need XHTML.

IWork in iCloud telling me to open Pages (or other apps) and turn on iCloud but it's already on!!

I am trying to access my documents in iCloud but when I go into iWork online in iCloud.com it tells me to go into the respective app (pages/keynote&numbers) and turn on iCloud.
Firstly I can't find where to turn on iCloud within the apps themselves! You can turn on iCloud in their preferences in System Pref's app but I have done this. I have also turned off iCloud, rebooted the apps and hard reset the iPad & iPhone I'm using and then turned it all back on again with no luck!
How do I get iCloud.com iWork to recognise that I have iCloud turned on!?!
I can't access any document in iCloud.com!
Any suggestions?

Firstly I can't find where to turn on iCloud within the apps themselves! You can turn on iCloud in their preferences in System Pref's app but I have done this.
System preferences is a term which applies to the mac, are you sure you have turned iCloud on for each app on your iOS device (settings > pages/keynote/numbers)

Open single page e-mailed pdf in another app.

I like to e-mail .pdfs to myself for opening in other apps, such as FileApp where I keep relevant documents for reference, or GoodNotes, where I may do a mark up on them. This works fine for multi-page pdfs, but where I e-mail a single page pdf, it just shows up in the e-mail, instead of as an attachment that can be opened in another app. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Same problem here. TAP and HOLD does not show the option to OPen Wth... Another App.

I just got my mac a month ago so go easy on me but I was just working with the pages that was already on it, and then today I know it updated, and now I am unable to open a lot of my documents!:( Idk what you mean by the icloud version lol sorry! As for the version, when I open pages from my apps and click 'about' it says version 5.1? And when I open the document it just goes grey and kind of blinks and doesnt open? No error message or any indication of why it will not open now when I for sure have opened it in the past! Andddd for the OS X I think it is 10.9.1 ??

Why don't some iPads offer "open in another app" in Pages?

My students use Pages and want to save their work in Dropbox. They have set-up Dropbox accounts. However, some students do not have the menu for "open in another app" and therefore cannot access Dropbox. For those students who do have the menu option, Dropbox is accessible. How can I get the "open in another app" option in their Share and Print menu? Thanks!

Perhaps! I did an extensive Google search before I submitted the question and couldn't find anything. Then when I submitted it, a helpful forum popped up that mentioned the version of Pages. I will check that out.
