Open pdf attachment in Lotus notes 8

Hello!
I have a customer who uses Lotus Notes 8 for mail. They are having trouble with opening pdf documents they receive as attachments. If they save det documents to their harddrives, and then open it, it works fine. I have tried to install several different versions of Adobe Reader (9.x and 8.x), and they get the same problem with them all.
Anyone seen this problem and have any tips?
Thank you!

Hi Pat
Microsoft upgraded Hotmail e-mail accounts to Outlook.com
The Print Screen key has no function.....when the 2 boxes mentioned above appear on the monitor (which I have detailed) they require action or I cannot proceed to another screen or function.
Maybe my problem should also be sent to Microsoft Customer Service...your thoughts.
I note there has been 106 views hard to believe that no one else has had this problem.

  • Developing an Add-in for Adobe Reader to check Open PDF's into Lotus Notes

    Hi
We currently have a document management solution in MS Word & Excel, where by you can open/create a document click a button that is linked to a macro and it brings a Document Management screen up and allows you to save the file into a new Lotus Notes Document.
We are now trying to get the same functionality into Adobe Reader, whereby a user can open a PDF they have on their PC and then go to a menu item and it will perform similar function to our macro/VB that we have setup in MS Word & Excel.
Does anyone know of anyone who has developed such an idea or could point me in the right direction of where to start developing as I have never developed any add-in/plug-ins for Adobe Reader.
    Thanks
    Ian

  • 'Failed to create object' when trying to open PDF attachment in Dynamics GP 10 OLE notes

Microsoft Dynamics GP 10 users who updated to Adobe Reader X are getting errors when trying to open or create an OLE attachment on a note.
They get 'Failed to create object' when trying to open an existing and getting 'Failed to connect.
And " Link may be broken" when trying to create a new one.
PDF attachments work pretty fine with previous version of Acrobat reader 7,8,9 up tp 9.4
Now that we install Acrobat X, something has changed.
It only does this for PDF attachments, Other file types work fine.
I was able to remove Adobe Reader X and install a prior version to work around the issue.
Has Adobe developed any Fix for the integration of X and OLE objects.
    regards,

    Hi Gestis,
What version of Adobe Reader are you using?
If its less that 10.1.2, please update it to 10.1.2 and then try to open PDF attachment inDynamcs GP OLE notes.

  • Outlook2013 email message goes behind main Outlook window when opening PDF attachment with Reader 11

Problem statement: Outlook 2013 email message goes behind main Outlook window when opening PDF attachment with Adobe Reader 11.0.3
    Environment: Windows 8 x64; Office 2013; Adobe Reader 11.0.3
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. Open Outlook 2013
    2. Open email message with PDF attachment
    3. Open PDF attachment (with Adobe Reader as default PDF viewer)
    4. Close Adobe Reader
Results: Original email message with PDF attacment now sits behind the main Outlook window
Expected results: Original email message should be on top of main Outlook window as it was when opening the PDF attachment
Note: Adobe Acrobat Profession performs as expected - the original email is on top of the main Outlook window - This only seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader.
Has anyone else experience this problem?  If so, have you found a work-around?
    Thanks,
    Mike

From: new window opens behind existing window - how to modify?
I had this problem happening in Outlook.
If I tried to open an email, it would open behind the main Outlook window.
The same happened if I opened a link in the email - it would open behind the mail.
The fix that was suggested to me was so simple that I still don't believe it.
Right click on the task bar and unlock the taskbar, then lock it again.
Close down Outlook and re-start it.
Problem solved! Just dont know how  or why.

Cannot open PDF attachment in webmail sent from Outlook, says I need to save first; how do I save the link?

Looks like another user asked similar question with over 600 views and no replies ... hmmm.  When I click on the attachment, it says I must save it to my disk; with one button mouse just click once and save?  I've tried dragging and saving the attachment to word doc but opened up with a page of garbled words/symbols,etc.  Any ideas are welcome.

    Eric-
FYI, this is a forum for storage and sharing...photoshop.com and revel. If you have acrobat issues you might want to make a note of the other forums:
http://forums.adobe.com shows a list of all of them, and specifically http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat  this one for Acrobat
But, since I have had this same issue myself...
On Windows, locate your pdf document. Right click it and select "open with". Select Adobe Acrobat. That should do it. On MAC, I'm not sure but I'm guessing there is a similar setting.
    Good luck.

  • Can't open pdf attachment in Yahoo Mail. Worked in 25.0 not 25.0.1. Still works with IE.

Clicking on a pdf attachment in AT&T/Yahoo Mail results in "a file was downloaded". Used to open the file in Firefox 25.0 and prior. Switching to IE I can click on the attachment and it opens. Seems it could be something in 25.0.1. I cleared my history (cache, cookies) but this did not fix the problem. I disabled the pdf viewed and that didn't help either.

i'm not sure as to what exactly is going on, but it looks like yahoo has changed something on their server that makes certain old url formats dysfunctional - at least quite a number of other users have reported that... so if you have a bookmark for yahoo mail, change its address to the generic https://mail.yahoo.com/, which should redirect you to the current & working url

  • E-Mail problems - will not open pdf attachment found in my e-mail...

    Here what I’m using:
    OS X (10.3.9)
    safari 1.2 (v125)
    SBC Yahoo DSL (sbcglobal.net)
    SBC MAIL
    Running through Safari 1.2 (v125)
Over the weekend I elected to empty my cache and reset Safari (don’t ask me why - I guess I through by doing so it would speed up Safari which as been running a bit show of late) - now I’m unable to open any of my current or new pdf attachments.
I open a pdf attachment, it runs a antiVirus check, then when I try to open the attachments itself from the AntiVirus window it opens a black windows and stops - no pdf document!
So what's up and what do I do?
thanks in advance for the help I going to get!

You don't need to run any antivirus software at the present time with OS X. There are no viri that currently affect OS X which has been available for 5 years and counting and if the antivirus software used is causing problems which isn't protecting you from anything anyway, you should use the uninstall feature to remove it from the hard drive if included with the antivirus software installed.
You don't need to install any software provided by an ISP which can sometimes cause more problems than it helps.
You can download Firefox for free to test if the same occurs.
    http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
I would like to get myself over to mac's own
service Mail but just how is the question?
The required account information to set up your SBC email account with the Mail.app is provided on SBC's website or you can call SBC.
SBC will tell you they don't support the Mail.app but all you need is the following:
    * Account Type - I'm sure POP is the account type.
    * Incoming Mail Server
    * Account User Name - usually the portion of your email address in front of the @ sign only but for some providers it is the entire email address.
    * Account Password - this you should know.
    * Outgoing or SMTP server and is the SMTP server authenticated? I don't believe SBC requires or supports SMTP authentication but if authenticated, ask what type of authentication. If SMTP authentication is required, it is usually password authentication which requires entering the same user name and password required to check the account's incoming mail server for new mail.
This is all you need to create and access the account using the Mail.app.
Regarding using Norton SystemWorks, don't. It is poison for OS X and can cause more problems than it resolves. Symantec announced almost 3 years ago they will no longer be supporting SystemWorks or Disk Doctor with OS X but they continue to sell their garbage and they don't sell a Tiger compatible version.
If installed on your hard drive, use the uninstall feature included to remove it and discontinue its use altogether. I believe the uninstall utility included has some problems so visit Symantec's website for an updated removal utility and/or for proper removal instructions. Symantec products installs a large number of components all over the hard drive.

  • PDF attached documents will not open in GroupWise

Hi, A user has a strange issue where he is unable to open any .pdf attachments in GroupWise. It works on any other computer except for his. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing adobe reader and also GroupWise and I still receive the same issue. I have also verrified that adobe reader is the default application for .pdf files and made sure .pdf is associated with adobe reader. Thanks for any advice!
