Open Pictures In Adobe Bridge

When I have the bridge open and I click on a picture to open it automatically opens in Fireworks unless I right click and chose Photoshop CS 4. How do I change the default to be Photoshop CS4 when I just regular click on a picture.

In Bridge go to  Edit > Preferences > File type Associations and set the picture file types to Photoshop.

  • AE can't open files in Adobe Bridge

I have been using CS4 AE for a few months now, suddenly I can not browse my presets in Adobe Bridge.  Even if I go to file_Reveal in Adobe Bridge, nothing comes up, nothing_no file shows up.  I looked at Adobe Bridge, AE does associate with the Bridge.
No problems with Premiere and PS.  Any place can I tweak to make this work?
    Please help!

    Thanks again for your help.
I went to Edit_Preferences and can see the Bridge be started on Login.  The Startup Script shows the Bridge is associated with all programs in Premium Studio.  My Quicktime is up to date.  As I said before, there is no problems with PS or PPRO.
I have found that if I open AE, then go to File_Reveal in Bridge or Browse Presets from AE, there is nothing shown up, i.e. no response from AB.  But then if I open the Bridge from Start Menu when AE is opened, it will show what I requested from AE.
What do you think?  Is startup script corrupted?  Thank you again.

  • Can't download pictures via Adobe Bridge(Windows7 via Parallels Desktop)

When trying to download photographs via windows based Adobe Bridge CS4 the computer doesn't see any card attached to it, hence can't start any download. When I put eg SD card in a slot, it appears on the screen but its not recognised by Windows (which I run through Parallels Desktop). I remember when I put the card there first time it asked me whether I want to use it with Mac OS or Windows, since I didnt expect any trouble, I went for Mac. Im new to Mac and have no idea how, where to change it so that I can use my Adobe Applications properly.
    Thanks a lot for help

  • Canon EOS 5D Mark II with Adobe Bridge (CS4) and Camera Raw 5.4

I use a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and store in RAW-format.
The camera is updated with latest software etc.
I have the Adobe Design CS4 package on my computer and updated to the camera raw 5.4 version (bridge/photoshop/etc).
All this is updated to last versions / updates etc.
I upload my pictures from the camera to my computer.
When I inspect the files with the Canon software such as "Digital Photo Professional 3.6.1.0" or "Canon Utilities ZoomBrowser EX 6.3.1" (this are the latest versions and updates)  the files are copied correct to my computer.
The files can be opened with the canon software without any problem and can be modified and converted and all normal operations can be performed.
The files can also be converted to ".jpg" and no problem occurs.
The problem starts after the folder with the pictures (in RAW-format) has been opened / viewed in Adobe Bridge or after Adobe bridge is started.
After starting and viewing with bridge the folder only some of the file become corrupted and cannot be used anymore. So the majority of the files remain OK but some files become corrupt.
A part of the picture is visible partly, the remaining part are lines, dots, squares etc and the divisions of correct picture and corrupted seems to be at random. There is no structure in the way the corrupted file are shown in bridge. Please look at the enclosed picture in this message.
The files can be opened in Camera Raw and Photoshop but they show the corrupted file and can be stored etc.
    But the picture is destroyed.
Does anybody have a sollution or similar problems?
    Best regards

  • Adobe Bridge Canon .mov Metadata Importing

I am using Adobe Bridge CS4 on Windows XP SP3 32bit.
I have recently seen the light and am now going through my years of photos and videos and adding metadata tags and key words. I realise that my image files which consist mostly of Canon RAW files largely look after them self in that all the meta data recorded by the camera is easily read. Things like aperture, lens type etc are easily seen and seen to be accurately captured.
With my video files however (at the moment I'm concentrating on 5D Mark II video files) I have come to realise that there is no metadata like there is in photos embedded within the file. Bridge just picks up the basic file info which is relatively inaccurate when it comes to creation date etc. After becoming disillusioned with the lack of metadata on my videos I then realised that when I use Zoom Browser (Canon image and video browsing software) that it has a stack of information that Bridge doesn't see. After some investigating I opened some .thm files with note pad and found the metadata stored in those.
From what I understand these are known as side car files. However as I want one program to rule them all, I want Bridge to have all the metadata. I had planned on manually entering all the data that I could read from Zoom Browser into Bridge but even this won't work because things like Aperture and Creation Date aren't editable fields in Bridge.
Is there a way I can get Bridge to extract the data from these .thm files?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Curt,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, White Balance is checked in preferences/metadata. All of the Exposure metadata entries are also checked.
I forgot to mention that my version of Camera Raw is 4.5 (the latest).
You know, although White Balance is checked, I cannot find a White Balance text entry on any of the metadata lists (File properties, IPTC core, Camera Data (EXIF), etc.). The only place where I can see the White Balance setting in on the upper left corner of the Metadata tab, under the f-stop value.
Here is a personal question for you: When you browse your pictures in Adobe Bridge and you select one that was taken with a specific White Balance (not Auto), does your Adobe Bridge display an icon for that particular White Balance setting? I just want to eliminate the possibility that this happening only in my computer.
Thanks a lot for your time and attention.

  • Adobe Bridge - White balance metadata

When I browse raw files from my Canon EOS Rebel XT/350D in Adobe Bridge I always look at the Metadata tab to check for the f-stop value, speed, white balance settings, etc. of the currently-selected raw image file.
I noticed that the pictures shot in Automatic White Balance appear on the upper-left portion of the Metadata tab as an icon indicating AWB. However, whenever I take pictures with manually-set white balances, such as shade, day light, tungsten, etc., the metadata tab no longer indicates the white balance I chose, instead, it either shows an icon of a camera or two dashes, as in --.
Is there any way I can set Adobe Bridge to show the appropriate White Balance icon for pictures I take with manually-set white balances?

  • Adobe Bridge CS3 - Favorites Disappear

Every time I open Adobe Bridge CS3 I set up my favorites folder just the way I want them; but when I close the program down and reopen it, the favorites menu has been cleared.
I tried saving my work space; But this was to no avail.
The work space layout stayed in place but the favorites are still erase when I load the work space.
Also, if it helps to diagnose the problem, when I try to open the preferences Adobe Bridge CS3 immediately crashes.
I've tried deleting the cache folder & I've tried repairing Adobe with the install CD with no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Stephen K.

    Stephen,
Great when things work again; funny how you can try something and it does not work the first time; then magically it does - the joys of software!
I often wonder what the preferences file in Bridge does for us, if we can clear it and not notice that we have lost any settings.
I hardly use Bridge since I moved to Lightroom, except to check that Bridge sees what Lightroom does. But I must say that I like its Metadata panel.
If neither Bridge nor Lightroom existed, I think that I could survive on Photoshop CS3 alone and manage files without either.

  • Adobe Bridge crashing after updating to Yosemite

Adobe Bridge CC crashes my iMAC 27" forcing a restart since updating to Yosemite. Bridge will launch okay if i am seeing images in thumnail view, switch folders and show images, but pressing the space bar for a full screen preview results in a grey screen for a few seconds followed by an OS message that the system has crashed and needs to restart.

    Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

  • Adobe Bridge CC errors & Photoshop CC errors

2 issues with a recent Photoshop CC download (subscription).
1st issue:  Photoshop 64bit will not recognize the Nvidia FX880M driver even though it has been updated.  Photoshop (non64bit) will recognize the driver.  I have an older version on another laptop and the 64bit version works fine.
2nd issue: Bridge CC 64bit starts and when I select a photo to open it quits "Adobe Bridge CC has stopped working".
I uninstalled both programs yesterday and reloaded with without any errors.
This system runs Win 7, V6.1, Service pack 1

I just went to the Nvidia Web site did not see a FX880M I did see a FX8800M driver was newer then I had for my Quadro 4000 so I looked for a new driver for the quadro 4000 there was a newer version 331.82 for it the same number I saw for the FX880m . So I downloaded and installed the Quadro version Photoshop see it fine,

  • Adobe Bridge to Camera RAW

When I open the application Adobe Bridge and right click on the image that I would like to open into camera RAW I get an error message saying "Camera RAW editing is not enabled.  Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature."  I have used it plenty of times before and I don't know why it is all of a sudden not working.  Please help me, thanks.

Got the same message after starting the Creative Cloud Trial.  It would be helpful if Adobe explained the error message in the message or offered a link to possible solutions!
I ran In Design CC  - which apparently is not a qualifying product yet it has a Browse In Bridge option.
I have Photoshop CS5 installed and the CC version of Photoshop failed to install yet says it is up to date. Haven't found a solution to re-install Photoshop CC!  Possibly Photoshop CC has to be run to enable BR?

I have a Mac computer and am trying to use a Photoshop CS4 program, but after accessing my desktop files through Adobe Bridge and clicking twice on any of the pictures to get into Photoshop, instead of entering photoshop, I get on the lefthand side an enlarged version of the picture with red, yellow and green buttons on top. Any suggestions on what is wrong, or what can be corrected ?

And there is the problem. Your pictures are opening up in Mac's own Preview app.
Do you want all your jpegs to open in Photoshop, or only when you are in Bridge?
Selecting a program to open a certain file is called: File Type Association.
You can choose this at the MacOS level or the Bridge level.
    Here's how to do both:
Either MacOS or Bridge has the wrong app associated with the jpeg. Let's start with MacOS
Close Bridge and Preview. Select one of your jpegs, and press Cmd i, That will bring up the file info window.
Go down to the "Open with" section of File Info.
Choose Photoshop CS4 and click on the Change All... button to apply this choice to every jpeg on your Mac.
Then open Bridge and see if double-clicking opens it in Photoshop.
Now that means all jpegs on your Mac will open in Photoshop.  Maybe you don't want that.
You can set your jpegs to open in Preview when Bridge is closed.
When you open Bridge, there is Preferences > File Type Associations where you can direct Bridge to open the jpegs in Photoshop when you are viewing in Bridge.

When you re-installed Photoshop, you also re-installed the version of Camera Raw which shipped with Photoshop - in other words you reverted to an older version of Camera Raw which does not support the D5100.

The D5100 was first supported in Camera Raw version 6.4.
