Open ports not responding

Dear All,
I have open my 25, 110, 80 port on my Server from local i can telnet all those via my private ip but from public ip its not responding.
2nd thing I can ping both ips of My server through private ip and through public ip.
Any help to solve this issue.
Thanks
Rehman Ghani

I have to agree with ngoldwat's statement.  The symptoms sound like misconfigure or non-configured NAT on your router.  Take a look at it and ensure your NAT statements are applied to the correct interface as well.  You may also have to tweak the ACL that identifies the traffic to be NATed.  Good luck.

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems?esab=a&s=troubleshooting&r=3&as=s#w_5-reinstall-firefox here].
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

Sounds like Firefox is "hanging at exit". That problem is frequently caused by an Extension or a Plugin. Read all of the following articles.<br /><br />

  • I am unable to open any form. Any form/file I open states "not responding" This is adobe reader.

I am unable to open any form. Any form/file I open states "not responding" This is adobe reader.

Online and downloaded to my computer. There is no difference.
browser is google but I also tried internet exployer...thats not the problem...your program is
i just downloaded the most recent version..10.1...or whatever it is.
i found this online:...how do I find the Adobe Readers X's 3d and multimedia settings...what tab do I click on..
    1) khwajakhurram I have tried your suggestion to uncheck the default "Enable hardware rendering for legacy video cards" setting and it seems to work!
What is surprising is that Adobe Reader X's 3D & Multimedia settings report that the alternative preferred renderer modes are either software or DirectX9 .....on a Vista machine with DirectX11.
The video card on this machine is definitely not legacy but a recent quality Nvidia produced card. That is also the case on the other machines with the issue I have reported.
    2) http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/860/cpsid_86063.html mentions that "certain configurations of anti-virus software that have not yet white-listed AcroRd32.exe" are "Unsupported configurations for Reader running in Protected Mode". Therefore I have also excluded AcroRd32.exe from virus scanning.
I am now able to use both Protected Mode and Advanced Security without issue.
I will experiment with various versions of this in the next few days and see whether both or just one of these remedies are needed.
Update: I have found that performance is vastly improved by changing from the default preferred renderer mode of DirectX9 to the alternative Software setting.

  • Firewire ports not responding to external drives.

I have a LaCie 250 gig and it was working fine until I plugged a power book into one of the firewire ports. Not only did my G4 not recognize the power book, it also stopped recognizing my external drive.
The .mac site said to unplug everything and restart the computer to reset the firewire ports. Which I did and nothing changed. Figured it was a lost cause so I used the USB instead.
Then, one day, I tried it again to see what would happen and it worked. The firewire went back to normal and everything was fine.
The other day, I plugged my Canon XL2 into the firewire port and it shut everything down again. So, now I'm without firewire and back to USB for my external drive.
The firewire DOES turn on the drive, it just doesn't recognize that there's anything plugged in.
    Thoughts?

    1. Shut-down your Mac, and unplug the power cord
    2. Turn the power off on your external FireWire devices
    3. Unplug the FireWire devices from the Mac
    4. Wait for 5 min.
    5. Plug the power cord to your Mac only
    6. For PPC Macs: Restart the Mac while holding the Option-Apple-O-F, and keep holding until you get the ">" prompt, then release the keys
    7. At the ">" prompt type:
reset-nvram and hit the Return key
set-defaults and hit the Return key
reset-all and hit the Return key
the last command will restart your mac
    8. Shut down your Mac
    9. Connect all your FireWire devices to the Mac and turn them on
    10. Restart your Mac.
All your FireWire devices should reapear, if not repeat the procedure
How to avoid the issue :
The only really proven way to avoid burning up a FireWire port is to connect all devices and to turn them on PRIOR turning on the Mac. Likely, one must unplug them and turn them off AFTER the Mac has been turned off. If you need to connect another device, then you're on for a shutdown of your machine...
It's a tad annoying but it guarantees that the FW ports won't be damaged.
Be careful when using self powered devices such as webcams, iPods, hard drives or hubs, as they can destroy the port pretty easily. Another thing is to avoid daisy-chaining hard drives.
When the FW port doesn't respond anymore :
In this case, peripherals won't be mounted upon plugging, and won't be displayed in Apple's System Profiler. The self powered devices will still be fed by the port, but won't respond either.
It happens that the PHY just hangs after a surge or a random problem. Once hung, the port will not respond any longer, it is possible to reset the component by going through the following steps :
1° boot the PPC mac in Open Firmware by holding [ Apple key - Option - O - F ] after the startup chime.
2° you'll get to a command prompt. the keyboard mapping will be QWERTY, so pay attention when you type the following :
RESET-NVRAM (enter)
RESET-ALL (enter)
3° Now the mac should restart itself and the port should function properly again.
If it still doesn't work, then it means that the PHY is damaged.

    From Wiebetech:
I just upgraded my Mac OS, and now I'm having trouble with my FireWire device. What can I do?
A: With nearly every OS update Apple releases, some external drives are not recognized after the update. The typical symptom is that the device will not mount but the volume is visible and grayed out in Disk Utility. This means that the device is working properly, but the OS does not recognize the volume as mountable. Sometimes the drive does not show up at all.
The first thing to do is to see if repairing Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility First Aid feature solves the problem. If not, try repairing the disk with First Aid. Another possible solution is to zap the PRAM. This is done with a keyboard command while rebooting. Restart your computer and hold down the Command, Option, P and R keys. Consult the Apple web site for details.
If this does not work, then try pushing the PMMU reset button on the logic board. Consult the Apple web site for locations of the button for your Mac. If the drive still does not show up, shut down, disconnect all peripheral devices, and boot from the Mac OS Installation CD. The later the OS version, the better. Do not reinstall the OS, but when the Installer is loaded up and ready to begin, go to the File menu and use the Disk Utility program. Connect the drive that is having problems, then start the Disk Utility application. If you see the external drive and it is not grayed out, you know the drive is okay. Run Disk First Aid on it anyway. Then run it on your internal boot drive while you are at it. When done, unmount the external drive and UNPLUG it! Then restart the Mac.
When the Mac has restarted and is running on the internal boot drive, reconnect the external drive.

  • USB port not responding

The second USB port on my iBook is not responding to my Flashdrive. However, the other USB port is. Any suggestions for fixing or figuring out what the problem is?
    Thanks.

Help. I too am having problems with my USB ports on a brand new 2.16ghz 15" Macbook Pro with 2GB Memory. More specifically, for my business, I use Vectorworks 12, a macintosh CAD program with a serial dongle that enables me to simply open and run the program. Well, the serial dongle is not lighting up as it should whwn plugging it into my MacBook Pro. My wife has a 15" PowerBook and G4 17" iMac, in which the dongle does NOT light up either! When I plug the dongle into my Dual 2 ghz "G5" Tower it lights up perfectly as it historically did! I plugged in a thumb drive that works in both my laptop and G5 tower. So why all of a sudden does the Vectorworks Serial Dongle become unrecognized by both USB ports in my MacBook Pro when Thumb drives, iPods, USB mouse etc. all work? The serial dongle should have at least lit up in my wifes 15" PowerBook or G4 iMac if the problem was isolated to my MacBook right? Something is messed up from the last firmware update maybe? So, what the heck happened! It was working a few days ago!? I need to use this serial dongle in my MacBook Pro but why is it, of all these computers mentioned, only being recognized on the G5? Please Help!

  • Firefox 5 doesnt let me do anything after i open it; not responding

I have just bought a new laptop and tried to transfer data from old one using Windows Easy Transfer. I left both laptops on overnight and when got up in the morning Firefox wasnt working on my new laptop. I can open firefox but am not able to do anything, it is frozen and shows "not responding".

I transferred all of my profiles from Vista to Windows 7 in Jan or Mar of 2010, no problem same files and everything. I used external HD for most of it, and some` USB thumb drives.
I expect that you might want to take a look here
    http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/windows-7/win7.htm#list
at item #10, hidden files read only files, system files.
Laptop power settings look for the battery/plug icon on the windows 7 task bar ,
click on more power options change the plan in use to never put laptop to sleep when plugged in. If you have something copying files you might want to make sure both computers are plugged into a UPS.

  • Why does my Lightshop 5.6 hangs on opening with "not responding" at top of screen.

Is their a maximum caralog size that is usuable, mine is 2.7TB and is on one of the desktop's 3 discs.
    Advice please, thanks

No, but try terminating and restarting Safari:
    1. Press the Home button
    2. Double click the Home button to bring up the "Recent Apps" tray.
    3. Touch and hold on the Safari icon in the "Recent Apps" tray until a "-" appears.
    4. Touch the "-" to terminate Safari.
    5. Restart Safari and see if your Bookmarks are back.

  • DirectAccess - TCP open port not reachable

    Hello,
I did a little experiment with my DirectAccess connectivity.
I have a laptop with DirectAccess connectivity enabled with my domain username.
I logged in to my laptop with my local administrator account. Thus, DirectAccess mounts the IPSec ESP tunnel infrastructure and it is possible to querry DNS requests to my Intranet (even if I'm not authenticated with my domain account).
I realize I was able to netcat to the web servers (and more generally, to use netcat to connect to any TCP opened ports on the intranet). Here there are two things I do not understand.
    - I know there are two DA servers in a DMZ. I guess the fact I am able to netcat where I want on the Intranet is due to a lack of firewalling. But is it, or is it just a consequence of the way DA works?
    - Then, when seeing I could netcat to open ports, I tried to connect to the web server with my browser, but the connection timeout. I thought it was strange. I should mention that when querrying the web server with a GET request in netcat, I only receives
HTTP headers qith a body length of 0. However, I do not understand why the browser querry timeout, and not the netcat one.
    Thank you!

    Hi
When you log on your laptop with your local administrator account, this account cannot be used for the user IPSEC tunnel. So you only have the IPSEC infrastructure tunnel established by your laptop. With this tunnel, you have access to all ressources declared
as allowed in the infrastructure tunnel.
