Open protected document without sharing passwords

Good morning,
i need to share pdf documents that must be password protected; for security reasons and for permission rights, I cannot share the passwords to all users, therefore I need to find some way to open password protected pdf files without sharing the passwords (using other programs to launch reader). I found many quetsions about passing password command line and did not find any positive answer. Is there any way to get what I need ?

The reason you did not find a positive answer is that the negative answer is the right one: there is no way to put a password on the command line. (Just as well; I'm sure there are programs to report the command line).
You could write a DRM plug-in for Adobe Reader, though the license fees are in five figures or more.
You could license a DRM solution.
You could encrypt the files, then decrypt before running Reader; so long as you are comfortable with the decrypted file being available for anyone to save and share.

If you want to edit a word document then you will need an app on your iPad that supports word so that you can copy them to it via 'open in' e.g. Apple's Pages app or a third-party app such as Documents To Go or QuickOffice HD

Hi Scott,
It is not possible to save a password protected file without a password with Adobe Reader, you would require Adobe Acrobat to remove the password protection. Even with Adobe Acrobat you can only remove the security if you are aware about the password otherwise you need to contact the Author/creator of the PDF to remove the security.

What problem are you facing in opening the document? Is there any error message?
I would recommend you to try again and as passwords are case sensitive so please make sure that you type the password in exactly same case sequence as you did when you set the password.

Ipad won't open Word documents without .doc appended

My ipad won't open word documents attached to emails that don't have .doc appended, however my iphone does this flawlessly. Is this normal?

Mine won't either. I was wondering if it had something to do with installing the pages app. My attachments with .doc are showing as pages docs.

There might be file association problem with your Office program, we recommend you right click on the file>Open with and select Office Starter as the default program to open these files.
We might also do a repair for Office Starter: Control panel>Program and features>Office Starter>Change>Repair

Is it possible to allow printing of a PDF document without a password but still restrict editing?

We are putting a sample chapter of our book as a PDF on our webpage... the book is a workbook with exercises, so there are places for people to fill in a circle, write things, etc. (Which cannot be done the same way using the form feature and that is not my intent; the full workbook will be print-only.) I can imagine someone might want to print out the sample chapter to complete it... and then eventually buy our printed book. Ideally I would like to enable printing but DISABLE any editing of the PDF, just to protect our material. This PDF would be only for potential customers; I would make any changes to the original document in InDesign. The only options I see in Acrobat are to restrict printing AND editing with a password... you can't separate the two. Is there a way around this? (I have the latest Acrobat with Creative Cloud.) Thank you!

In the security permissions there are 2 different entries for "Printing Allowd" and "Changes Allowed".

Share folio without sharing password

I've created an app in InDesign that I need to share with others before publishing. I've tried using the share feature in the folio builder, but this sends a link to the receiver that opens the browser, which says "unsupported browser". How can I get it to open in the Adobe Content Viewer without giving the receiver my account password? Or can I get a second ID and password that couldn't be used to log into my Adobe account?

Thanks for your reply Bob, but are you sure they don't have to have a DPS subscription to log into the Adobe Content Viewer? I'm testing with my husband's account and although he has an Adobe ID and password that works on Adobe's website, it isn't authenticating in the Adobe Content Viewer.

I’m using Reader 2015 release version 2015.007.20033. It was offered as an update to the version I had been using. Here is a screen shot of an example. I can delete either sidebar easily enough, but I would like to know how I can open Reader with both sidebars off, or minimized, as a default.
You can open the PDF file in Read Mode with no tools pane or navigation pane on either sides. How can I do this?
Or, you will need to use Acrobat to change default view settings under "File > Properties > Initial View" as desired. How can I do this? I can go to File > Properties, but I don’t see an “Initial View” option. Or I can go to Edit > Preferences and see all kinds of options, but I don’t see anything that refers to defaulting the left and right panes to the “OFF” state.

Option to stay logged in will be stored in cookies. Delete the cookies for the email site (for details on doing that see the [[Deleting cookies]] article). When you next log into the mail site, deselect any option on the login screen that says something like"remember me" or "stay signed in".

How does a family share an iTunes account without sharing the master password?

Is there any way to avoid having to give my password to my daughter? I have had the same AppleID for many years, and it also my email address, so I would prefer not to share the password with all of my family. As far as I can tell, I can not change my AppleID associated with my iTunes account.
I do want my daughter to be able to download apps or updates to existing apps even when she is not with me, but that doesn't seem possible without sharing passwords.
It would be great if iTunes allowed "sub-accounts." Perhaps someday.

That is indeed not possible. She'll either need to re-acquire all those apps through her own iTunes Store account, you'll have to give her the password to your account, or you'll have to do all the updating for her.

Credential Pop up while opening word document in SharePoint 2013

When I open office documents from SharePoint library, it is asking for credentials. Even if I put my credentials, pop up window will not go away. I have IE 11 and SharePoint 2013.
I have put this site in trusted site zone. User Authentication - Automatic logon with current user name and password.
I have clicked on Remember my credentials. I can see my saved credentials in credential manager.
The thing is, I was able to open word document without asking for password before. But recently, I have changed IE settings to be default level for some other reason, and since then it is asking me for credentials.
I looked online so many articles, but nothing has helped me yet.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your response. Yesterday night, when I tried to open documents from sharepoint site from my home, it didn't ask me for credentials. I was using same laptop which I used in the office.
Again, today in the office, It started asking for credentials when I open office document.
The only difference is internet connection is different between my home and the office.
Not sure what could be the issue.

Open PDF document automatically after executing

I am converting my smartform output to PDF within the program and now i donot want to show any dialog box to the user to save the pdf document on the harddisk. when the user calls this form from a SAP Standard transaction using "issue ouput to screen" option, the pdf document should directly open up on the screen immediately.
Can anyone let me know how to code this?

Sorry for a very late reply. I was trying to see how i can use this method. But this method seems like doesn't work in the way i explained above.
I do not want the user to see any SAVE or OPEN file dialog box. The program should automatically open the document on the screen. If possible, without saving the document anywhere on the system. And if this is not possible (i.e., opening the document without saving) atleast it should automatically detect the temp directory on the user's system and then store it there.
If possible, could you please suggest to which parameters i need to pass the values?
Please let me know.
