Open PSDX file in photoshop touch

Hi,
I got myself a tablet with photoshop touch a while ago. Now the tablet is getting really slow, and I want to reset it to factory settings to remove all the accumulated junk. And I would like to keep my images.
I don't have a Creative Cloud subscription, I never needed it. I thought that I would just save the images on the tablet, in psdx format, do a backup, and re-open them in my new and clean photoshop after tablet clean-up. Except that when I browse my tablet to the folder where the images are saved, PS touch doesn't see them, only .jpg images are detected.
So what should I do to save my images. I don't want to save them as jpg, I don't want to lose the layers and mods I have done, and I want to be able to work on them later. Is there any way to get it to work, without spending money on a Creative Cloud subscription ?
Thanks

That's a known bug/issue with "cannot connect to server". The same thing happens to me when I try to go to browse my folders in CC. (And I have a Creative Cloud Photography subscription.) Oddly, there's no disconnection going on. I can browse the root of my Creative Cloud account; just can't browse beyond that.
If you created an Adobe ID, you should be golden to download the desktop app OR log into Creative Cloud here. (The latter would be easier since there's nothing to install, plus would automatically take you there since you're already logged in here in the forum.)
If you can get in there, what I would do is export the PS Touch projects as PSDXs into something like Dropbox, download them via Dropbox onto your desktop (via Dropbox's app or through their web browser interface which doesn't require installing anything), then upload them into Creative Cloud on your desktop. (Again, using either the CC Desktop App or the web browser interface.)
Then we can all wait while Adobe figures out what in the world is going on with the server error messages we're all getting.  lol

  • How do I open eps files in Photoshop touch

Looking to open up some eps files from my creative cloud into photoshop touch

Not actually sure if it can import EPS files from Creative Cloud. I know it can import other undocumented image file types like RAW files.
If it can, the way to find out is to use the "add image" icon (looks like a plus sign with a landscape-type image) > Creative Cloud. If you can see a thumbnail of the image, more than likely it will import.

  • What version of Photoshop do I need to open PSDX files?

I have a tablet with PS Touch, and a copy of Photoshop CS4.  Can I open PS Touch PSDX files in my version of Photoshop?

To open PSDX files in Photoshop, you will need Photoshop CS5. You will also need to download the plug-in to enable Photoshop CS5 to open PSDX files. For more information about using Photoshop Touch with Photoshop CS5, see this forum article. Another helpful resource is this new video by Russell Brown called, File Format Options with Photoshop Touch.

  • Photoshop doesn't open .PSDX files

Before you tell me to, I've already installed the Touch Apps plugin.  Still, when I try to open the file in Photoshop it just gives me an error saying "Could not complete your request because it is not the right type of document" I've been trying this since PS Touch came out I remember doing it once or twice in the beginning with CS6 but at some point it stopped working. Since then I've tried upgrading to CC and reinstalled the plugin several times.  This is also with any PSDX file, not just one.
I'm looking in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)\Plug-ins right now and it's empty except for a folder called Panels which is also empty.
It's kind of pointless to start a project in PS Touch if I can't continue working on it on my desktop.

Photoshop does not natively read PSDX files (those were created by a different team).
Did you previously download and install a plugin to read PSDX files?

  • Photoshop CC will not open psdx files

PS CC 14.0 x64 does not recognize psdx files - grey'd out on File>Open, error window returned when file is dragged onto PS icon in dock. (os 10.7.5). TouchApp Plugin was installed after PS CC install.

I am having the same problem.  I can not open a .psdx file in Photoshop CC.  I have installed the Touch App Plugins that are supposed to add support for this format to CC products.  It was working months ago before file sync was taken off line.  Now that the new and improved file sync is being rolled out,  the touch app format is not recognized by the desktop applications even though the touch app conversion app is in place.
The link to the December thread you mentioned is no help since it is a non-layer compatible work around and in no way a true fix to the problem.
Can someone take a fresh look at the compatibility problem?  Can they possibly check to see if the format of .psdx has changed or if the current "touch app plugins" is still valid?
I really am trying not to be a jerk about this, but there is a problem that needs to be addressed and fixed.  Work arounds that aren't fully functional are not solutions to a problem.
As an extra, I was trilled today when I got the email that file sync was alive and well, and being rolled out to customers.  Thank you for that!

  • Ps6 extended will not open .psdx file

I cannot open this file type for some reason. I am trying to open a .psdx file I downloaded from CC with PS. Error message says it is" not the right kind of document".  CC and ps6 are updated. What can I do please?

I guess i misunderstood your message.
You used photoshop cc to get the psdx file, but photoshop cs6 won't open it?
I believe you should be able to start the Crative Cloud desktop app and download and install the plugin for photoshop cs6.
    Under the Apps tab:
    Touch App Plugins

  • PS CC does not open psdx-files

Hallo, PS CC does not open psdx-files, although I installed the Touchapp-Plugin. In PS CS6 there were no problems.

Did you install the optional plugin in Photoshop CC?
It won't be automatically copied from CS6.

  • I can't open .avi files in Photoshop CS5

I used to be able to open .avi files in Photoshop just fine, but I’ve just tried opening one again after a couple of months and I can’t. It’s just black blankness. I have no problem with .mp4 files, but unfortunately, most of the videos I'm trying to make gifs out of are in .avi format.
Is it because I've updated QuickTime? Or is it that Adobe CS no longer supports .avi files? It says here that Photoshop CS6 supports the .avi format.
    My specs:
    OS X Mavericks 10.9.4
    Photoshop CS5.1
    QuickTime Player 10.3

  • Can't open CR2 files in photoshop and camera raw

This weekend I rented a Canon 5D Mark iii. I have downloaded the files and all of the thumbnails in camera raw say CR2 and when I try to open Photoshop does not recognize this product.
    I have:
    Photoshop CS4
    Camera Raw CS4
    Canon 5D Mark ii
I have checked my updates folder and all my updates are current. Do I need to upgrade to CS5 or is there a way around this?

Hi I recently had a problem opening CR2 files in PHotoshop cs4. I had to reinstall into a new computer, so obviously it installed the basic programme and not the updates.
After trying everything, even calling the help desk, there was apparently nothing that can be donw as they no longer support cs4.
I kept trying and found a you tube video, which i cant find again to add the link but i followed the link and with what I did earlier I can now open CR2 files in my photoshop cs4
I found the relevany update that I needed to install and downloaded it, camera raw 5.2 ( Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Camera Raw 5.2 update )  this is the one for the Canon 5d Mk2
After downloading it would not update the progeramme so I was in the same possition, but i noticed the files were there and i just needed to put them in the right place in photoshop so carried on looking for were to put the Plus In.
This led me to the video.
    To the point.
Download the update and save to a location where you will remember.
open Adobe photoshop and go to "edit"
    Them " Preferences "
    then "General "
    Then " Plus-Ins"
At the top you will see " Add Plug-Ins Folder " Check this box then navigate to the "win64" ( this is because mine is a windows 64 bit computer and the download is specific ) and Choose it.
Shut down photo shop and try to open a raw.
Bridge doesnt work for some reason but im going to keep looking.
Hope this works for you as well.

Without proper system information and other details like what files you work with  nobody can tell you much. From corrupted prefs to issues with your PS swap file to actual problems with the fiel storage this could be anything.

  • Unable to open AVI files in Photoshop CS6

Unable to open AVI files in Photoshop CS6
I am running PS6 and want to open and edit AVI files. When I try to do that I get an error message saying "the video file cannot be opened" . This seems to apply to ALL avis - yet I can open and edit MP4, MMV etc. I installed Gspot to track whether it was a codec issue and when I try to open ANY file I get this error message : "Warning: DirectShow crashed while GSpot was attempting to obtain information about a codec.  This is usually due to damaged, misconfigured, conflicting, or poorly written codec drivers.  It is possible, perhaps even likely, that other media players will crash when they attempt to play this file as well, as most of them will also use DirectShow.  GSpot was able to intercept the crash, and has attempted to identify the codec or filter involved; uninstalling or reinstalling this codec or filter may solve the problem.  The codec was tentatively identified as:  C:\Windows\system32\imaadp32.acm Unknown video codec #11" I have NO idea where to go from here. I see a site to download the "imaadp32.acm"  codec but what about the "Unknown video codec #11". What the heck is that and what do I do about it. Any help would be appreciate, Cliff
ps I should add that the avi files DO open and play in Bridge. I have the latest Quicktime. Everything is up to date and PS and the computer is otherwise working perfectly !

    Thanks Curt and 'Mylenium'
I did re-set the prefs - but to no avail
I checked and my graphics driver and audio is all up to date.
No sure how to verify Windows Media Player's hardware acceleration options. I opened WMP Options /Perfformance tab and under Cd the DirX tab is checked.
Running Windows Vista - so does the same caution apply regarding a re-install of Windows Media Components and DirectX ?
Appreciate your help with this somewhat frustrating issue. I am converting some old 8mm film to avi with the hope of doing some edits then burning to DVD.
