Open QT window in middle of screen?

I want quicktime movies to stop opening in the far left uppermost corner of my monitor. I have a 32 inch screen and always have to drag it to a more coomfortable viewing area.
Somoen told me to use applescript but I can't get this to work. Besides, I want movies to open (somewhere near center) when I double click them, not have to go to applescript every time.
I am in QT 7.0.4 Pro. OS 10.3.9. HP 2335 monitor.I also run a second apple cinima display at the same time.

I don't see anything like what you refer to when you say, "save your movies with the 'Enter fullscreen mode when opened." I have looked through Prefs. and every option I can find when selecting Save.
Where is this option?
1) Open the "Show Movie Properties" window under the "Window" Menu.
2) Select the "main" movie track (first track line in the upper portion of the window) by clicking on it.
3) Click on the "Presentation" Tab in the lower portion of the window.
4) Enable the "Enter fullscreen mode when opened" option by "ticking" the associated box. (Enable other "Presentation" options as desired.)
5) Use "Save" or "Save As..." to store your movie with the desired features enabled.

Your warranty is actually one year - the 90-days is only for free telephone support - but the warranty would not cover damage due to the iPad being dropped. I doubt there's anything you can do to fix the rocker, so you'll probably need to pay to get the iPad exchanged (by Apple) or repaired (by a third party repair service).

Attach/open file window too big for screen

Just recently I've found that when I go to attach a file in email for example, or open something in the finder the window that comes up from which I can choose my file is too big for the screen. So the bottom corner, which has the "attach" or "Cancel" buttons, is obscured. It's very frustrating... I can hit enter to attach a file but can't cancel it if I change my mind. Hope that makes sense... I've moved the dock out of the way but that doesn't help at all, and I can't use the green button to resize or anything.
Hope someone can help... I've also restarted the computer but the problem is still there. I'm using a macbook pro, and I have upgraded to the latest OSX software.

Opening a window in full screen?

Hi,
One thing that really frustrates me is that i can't find a way to open a window program in full screen mode. I always have to manually set the window to the right place since the green button with the plus on the top left corner never really helps. So is there secret button that i don't know about that should be able to do this?

You can only do full screen on Mac OS X Lion but you can hide the dock and drag the window from the bottom right hand corner but it will still have the menu bar, How ever if you have a dual monitor setup you can use it on full screen on the second screen that does not have the menu bar or the dock

It's normal for links to open in the same tab as you browse if you left-click. You can Ctrl+click or middle click to open a link in a new tab. Are either of those broken?
Some sites let you use a regular left click to open a link in a new tab (example: Google search settings), and some add-ons may change link behavior. Can you check whether one of your add-ons has been disabled?
Tools > Add-ons > Extensions
Also, if you use the Ask toolbar, try disabling it and see whether that makes any difference.

I have also noticed the drop down menu arrow on Numbers Tabs has dissappeared since move.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug (very important)
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

How do I forces FF 23 to open maximized, not full screen, but maximized, both on start up and when opening new windows?

Firefox 23 does not open maximized nor does it open new windows maximized. As such I have to manually maximize each window.
Run is set to maximized in the shortcut properties, yet it still opens in a normal or less than normal size window.
Older versions open maximized with no problem. I have Profile manager configured so that I can run multiple versions at the same time and everything opens maximized except FF 23.
is there some setting in the about:config interface or is this a genuine BUG in the latest version? Any help would be appreciated greatly.
Also can you tell me how to modify the title bar text/icon/etc as well as where to find the icon or portable network graphic (png) file for the main-window.ico or direct me to appropriate knowledge base articles for modifying both.

My localstore.rdf file was fine. The problem was caused by two plug-ins that Mozilla shows as being compatible with Firefox 23, when in fact they both cause undesired side effects.
Maybe the employees of Mozilla should actually test plug-ins before they allow them to be available for download or worse yet, recommend them.
And if any of the in-house developers had a clue they would stop removing old lines of code from Mozilla products so that new versions of Firefox would still be compatible with older plug-ins and extensions people would still like to use.
I had to remove recommended extensions and copy code from older versions of FF and NS and modify settings in about:config to allow older extensions to work to correct the problems and get Firefox to work the way I need it to. All in all I have over forty hours invested in modding FF at this point just to have it function the way it used to.
Unfortunately, since I still can't get buttons designed to open .URL links from the toolbar to work as they did in the past I have a feeling I'll be returning to older code sources to find more answers.
Lucky for me that I have every browser going back to NCSA Mosaic available to me, so every bit of code from the present till back before Mozilla existed is include in my knowledge base. It's a shame Mozilla doesn't keep such a reference available for it's users or apparently it's in house developers and staff.
Maybe I'll even re-enable the splash screen for Firefox since the only available plug-in for that doesn't appear to work with Version 23 either, even though once again the compatibility adviser says it does
It's truly sad that the result of Marc Andreessen's and James Clark's work and Netscape in general became the spawning Mozilla. What used to be a great browser and an acceptable replacement for Netscape, has become a joke. So much for all the hard work and effort made by Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross as well.
I guess that's what one should expect from the developers that are a part of generations X, Y, and Me. The attitudes associated with those generations show in the lack of thought, consideration, and ingenuity that have been a part the last several versions of FF, not to mention, the copying of features from Chrome.
When the only original idea to come out of Mozilla of late is to remove or disable features people have used and counted on for decades, the I don't care, I don't know, and me, me, me attitudes of so many from the aforementioned generations is truly evident in the last twenty incarnations of Firefox. Not to mention the attitudes and unhelpful nature of the responses users encounter when asking for help.

This FPM navigation is achieved using settings made in Launchapd Customizing ( LPD_CUST ).
a) Execute Tran LPD_CUST
b) Go to Role HAP - Double Click to open it.
c) Open the second folder on the LHS menu - there you will find 2 entries
d) Click on second entry - in the entry setting you can see that it is configured for WD Application - HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT
e) Click on button Show Advanced Parameters
f) There you will find a input box named as Window Features - here you can specify window features like
height=700,width=1100,position=center,menu=no,status=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,toolbar=no
save the settings come out and test ur app again.
change the height and width and other features as per ur req.

Full screen Safari doesn't open new windows

Hi,
In my Safari preferences I have "Open pages in tabs instead of windows" set to "Never".
When Safari has at least one window that is not in full screen mode, then links from other applications seem to open new windows perfectly fine.
However, when all Safari windows that are open are in full screen mode, then links keep opening in tabs in on of those windows.
How can I make Safari to just open a new window all the time, even when I only have full screen windows open?

Source Safe causing LabVIEW Quick Start Screen to not appear after closing open vi windows?

Hey All,
We've recently implemented Source Safe version control for LabVIEW on XP and I've noticed that LabVIEW is hanging between closing open vi windows and showing the Quick Start Screen. The usual pattern is for the Quick Start window to appear after the last open vi window is closed. Instead the vi window is closed, the tab at the bottom of the screen says debug development and the Quick Start Screen does not appear, the tab does not read "Getting Started."
I think it is a LabVIEW <--> Source Safe issue when I do a Task Manager Exit on the LabVIEW process that I sometimes see a dialog box asking if I want to save changes in memory to disc and those files are not checked out. But it is too late at that point to do anything as XP clobbers the application before I can do anything.
Anyone else have this issue?

How to open the window on the screen not just on the bottom tool bar?

I open the window and it automatically goes into minimized mode on the bottom of the tool bar. I can not get it to be on the screen. it shows that it is open but I do not have access to it on my screen. what can i do? help i need this in order to get into the internet.

I work on two screens. With the new updates, my computer will not automatically open a new window on the second screen.

I work on two screens. With the new updates we cannot automatically open a new window on the second screen, but have to move them over manually. Not a huge problem, but because of the nature of the work, it gets tedious.

Thank you for your question, I understand that it is annoying to have to move a new window to the second screen. Since it opens in the active screen this may have been a stored preference, however it is not the default.
There is an add on called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/monitor-master/ Monitor Master] that customizes settings like this. Check it out.

Make start screen tiles open new window by default?

let me preface this by saying "I like the windows 8 start screen and I don't miss the start menu."
but.
the default behavior for start screen tiles seems to be "take me to the open instance of this application."
if I click the notepad tile to open notepad, it opens notepad. if I click the tile again, it takes me to that notepad I just opened the first time I clicked the tile. if I want to open two instances of notepad, I have to right-click the tile and then
choose "open new window," which may or may not be on the complete opposite corner of the screen from my notepad tile.
for what it's worth, this was not the behavior in the old start menu.
is there a registry hack or group policy I can put in to say "start tiles always open a new instance of desktop apps"? I use two monitors and have a lot of things open. sometimes I might not even remember that I have notepad (or remote
desktop, or excel, or powershell) running until I've already clicked the tile "again" instead of right-clicking and choosing "open in new window." this may seem like a minor thing, but it just seems like something I should have a *choice*
on.
the unfortunate flip side of this is that the new dual-monitor taskbar does what exactly what I want the start screen to do, but what I DON'T want the taskbar to do. that is, if I:
A. have a outlook pinned to the taskbar on my primary monitor
B. have outlook open on my second monitor
C. click the pinned outlook icon on the first monitor
windows opens a new instance of outlook instead of just taking me to the open instance. and as if to twist the knife and say "i'm doing this wrong on purpose," it opens this new instance on the second monitor, right in front of the first
instance.
so the start screen knows if outlook is open on either monitor, but the taskbar on monitor1 doesn't know/care if outlook is open on monitor2.
(any of this addressed in 8.1?)

Open finder window on a specified place on the screen

Hello,
In trying to somehow replicate the drop stack in PathFinder (www.cocoatech.com), I use a very simple script that I save as app bundle and place on the finder toolbar. The script is
do shell script "open /Users/myusername/temp"
I know this is not quite Applescript, but it works .
I have two questions to improve my little script
1) Is there a way to force the new finder window to open on a specified place on screen (ideally to the side of and flushed against the window from which it was called)
2) If I close the "temp" window without toolbar and sidebar (click on the oval top-right button), it will come that way when called again. However, I may forget sometimes to close temp that way. Is there a way to force a finder window to be opened without toolbar and sidebar?
Any help will be appreciated.

I think I answered my own question, thanks to an older post by Camelot on another topic. I use the following script

This works like a charm! Now my appetite is whetted, so I want an even more refined script . I tried to set the path bar to invisible (which I have visible by default), but failed. I tried with "set pathbar visible...", but that did not work. Maybe the Path Bar is a global property for all finder windows and cannot be set individually?
Also, expressions of the form
set the iconsize of (Finder window 1) to X (or with textsize or gridsize)
are accepted and compiled by Script editor. However, all my attempts at puting a value for X led to an error at execution time. Is this the correct way to do this? What is the format to do it?
I guess an even more encompassing question is where does one find this kind of info (as in being able to know everything I can set for a window with applescript...)
