Open Question to Adobe - Why Should I Stay?

Okay, there are now thousands of posts complaining about Adobe Creative Cloud.  There are over 31,000 signatures gathered in protest.  So far, Adobe is eerily silent.  So I am asking Adobe, why should I stay with you?  Why?  Why should I use Creative Cloud at $600 a year when I have been updating my Creative Suite about every other year for $700 (that's $350 per year)?  Why should I stay with you when you do not seem to be responding to your customer's complaints?  Why should i stay with you when you act as if everyone is so very happy with Creative Cloud and you seem to be ignoring the uproar as if it is not even happening?  Why should I stay with you when you act more and more like a monopoly that is strangling its customers?  I am a professional that has used your products for almost fifteen years.  Why on earth should I stay with you?
Others are invited to post but I am curious if Adobe will ever respond to this.

Do you know a little bit of marketing rules?
Do you know, how difficult it is to bring some one to action - espec. protest?
Do you know about the % returning of feedback surveys (compareable... = 2-5 %)?
(Believe me and follow regarding blogs: That are many more than 33.000 protests - no question)
These subscribers in the last Q are because they spared all their new features to their "great CC day" on June 17th and because the discounts for CS6 users will end soon.
These numbers (and in my eyes they are anything else than good) are a result of their forcing evil plan.
They will drop down in August, when their are no longer discounts for CS6 users. We will see.
Also let´s wait on the numbers, when they have to rise prices, and there is no longer income from CS6.
700.000 of 12 Mio & the same amount of pirates (estimated) during a year a great success???
Throwing half of the usership into garbage a good plan? = Reinventing economy?
If you think, there will be no users who will replace Adobe with competitors - I´m one of them.
Always was working parallel with QuarkXPress (and I like a lot - faster than InDesign - espec. in case of big documents (lots of text)). Also OWN the lifelong Right to use my Apple Video solutions (and thinking about investing to Avid now). My FreeHand still is running (also faster than Illustrator - even it is so old) ang still good for 95% of Vector Graphic. In case of Web-Design I have no great problem - Flash is slowly dying and competition is given. The only App not 100% replaceable is PS. But if it´s necessary, my MasterCollections will work the next 10 years on their actual MAC PROs (or virtualization). There is nothing I´m missing of their overwhelming solution.
If I would estimate: CS6 will become the WIN XP of Adobe. It will still survive over decades
(...or  Adobe is bought by better managers after it´s end)

  • Why should I stay?

I started my service March of 2013 and bought the Droid Max with a 2 yr contract. Over the last year I have dealt with 2 phones which freeze up, lag, and have horrible battery life. One of the phones has been replaced but the issues continue. Now T-Mobile is offering to pay off my early termination fees, allow me to get two brand new phones of my choice, give me 2.5g of data per a line (currently share 2g), the ability to upgrade every 6 months, and all for $40 less a month, oh and no contract. While vzws service is slightly better I have had T-Mobile and it works fine for me. Since verizon refuses to allow me to upgrade to the phone of my choice (even willing to sign a new contract), why would I stay?

I understand your frustration.  I'm presently in a Droid Razr Maxx.  It's been a good phone but it is certainly lagging behind in technology now and works very slow.  The contract is up, but the only reason I'm holding onto it is because I can keep my old Google Maps version 6.14.4 on it.
While the allure of being drawn away by T-Mobile may be strong, in light of the problems you are having with your existing phone, how much have you considered the other implications of switching.  Is there any fine print you are overlooking?  The reason I ask is a good friend of mine has been locked into a T-Mobile contract he hasn't been able to escape for years.  Month to month contracts would be very nice, but what kind of coverage will you receive?  That Verizon map on the commercials is pretty accurate.  I've had both Sprint and AT&T in the last 10 years and their coverage came no where close to the coverage I have wherever I travel in the country.  While I've not had T-Mobile, my friends who have are sorely disappointed with their lack of cell coverage.  They couldn't even get coverage when they were in my home, in a suburb of a major metropolitan community.  Having been with Verizon for 5 years now, I couldn't be more pleased with the service coverage across the country.
If the savings truly is a monthly savings and you don't need extensive coverage, maybe the switch makes sense.  If on the other hand you need dependability in coverage in more than one geography, maybe waiting patiently, negotiating with Verizon for another replacement or a completely new device is the best option.
Finally, maybe your phone is acting up due to some bugs in an app.  While Android phones are great because many app developers can be quite creative, the oversight of those apps isn't as stringent as Apple.  Consequently, there are a lot more problems with viruses and malware on Android devices.  Security experts and many corporations are moving away from Android devices for this very reason.  Infected applications can dramatically impact performance and battery life of the device.  How much free space do you have on your device?  If you are at 90% capacity, then you may benefit from deleting some unnecessary applications.  Do you have a lot of games or novelty apps on the device?  Those are really susceptible to malware.  Have you installed something like AVG virus scanning software on your device?  This can help you identify and clean things up.
Maybe you've already contemplated these options.  If not, I hope this is helpful to you.

  • HT201342 This site doesn't seem to answer a basic question of "why should I open this new iCloud e-mail account?" What do I do with it?

Why should I open this new e-mail account?  What does it do or me? Under what circumstance would I use this new identity?

There's no reason to if you don't want to use it.  Apple is no longer issuing @me email addresses, and has moved to @icloud adresses.  They are just adding the @icloud address to your existing iCloud account so you'll have one in case you want to use it.  Email sent to either your @me or @icloud email address is routed to the same iCloud mail inbox.

maybe i am saying it wrong..when i press alt+tab there is only one firefox open..but in windows 7 in the taskbar..every tab open..appears as another window open

If you are referring to taskbar previews, you can turn them off by modifying a hidden preference.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # In the filter box type '''previews'''
    # Double-click on the preference browser.taskbar.previews.enable to change its value to '''false'''

    Hi Ishrak,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are trying to log into with your Apple ID, or what exactly you are seeing (alert message, directions, etc) when you try to do so. If you continue to have issues with your Apple ID, you may find one or more of the articles linked from the following page helpful:

  • Why should Adobe Reader fail to print because of settings in the Edit/Preferences?

    AdobeReaderDocumentCouldNotPrint.txt

Why should Adobe Reader fail to print because of settings
    in the Edit/Preference?
    Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.10
    MS Window 7
    File > Print > Print
    I got the error message:
The document could not be printed
I googled this error message and used the following
solution that worked i.e. it then printed successfully.
    Edit >  Preferences
Category: Security(Enhancement)   'Enable Protected  Mode at Startup'
It was checked, changed it to unchecked.
Category: Documents    'View documents in PDF/Mode'
It was set to 'Only for PDF/A'
    Set it to 'Never'
Exited Adobe Reader and restart it. Then it printed.
I had a look on another computer system (Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.10
and MS Window 7) and on this different computer I could print
without doing the above two changes.
I'm a bit puzzled. Why preferences on one system were not
    needed on a different system?

Here is an elaborate method of troubleshooting this problem. There may be a simpler method if anybody wants to suggest one.
There is a general technique that is helpful in this situation. I can't give you complete instructions here, and I haven't tested this with regard to bluetooth devices, but here's the gist of it.
Create a second log-on account for your music projects. Configure it so that when you log in to the new music account, the drivers needed for the Bluetooth devices don't load. You do this in System Preferences: Accounts.
When it's time to do music, log out of your usual account and onto the new one.
When you install drivers for any peripheral, you have the option of installing them "for all users" or only for the user account that is active during the installation.
This governs whether the drivers go in root/library or root/Users/your name/library.
If drivers are in root/library, they will load whenever the Mac is booted up and will run for all users.
But if drivers are loaded in root/Users/your name/library, they will only load if you log in as "your name". If you have a second account called root/Users/music account/, and you log in under that, the drivers in "your name" will not load. Get it?
To get this working right you need to be knowledgeable about moving or deleting files in the /library/ directory and subdirectories, and you need to be careful because you can unwittingly cause some damage if you are not careful.
There is also the root/System/library directory, and in general you should never mess around with anything in there or you might hose your system.
In summary, I would start by using the installer programs for your BlueTooth devices and DE-installing all drivers. Reboot. Log back in as your usual user account. Then RE-install each driver and see if the installer program gives you the OPTION to installl for all users or just for this user. Choose the latter. Then log on to your new Music account and see if the problems go away.

What should I do in order to accept the end user license agreement even though it never pops up when i install adobe reader?

Make sure Readr is closed. Go to the Applications form, look for the Adobe Reader icon, double click on it, and follow the lead. Restart Reader when finished.

  • Why should I ask a question?

Why should I ask a question?
If I ask a question and nobody gives a good answer to it then it is unresolved. It will remain unresolved for all time. There is no way to mark it abandoned, or forget about it.

Donald, I have a question for you. First you ask "why should I answer a question?" and after beating that to death, you are back with "why should I ask a question?" So I am wondering...are you just trying to yank everyone's chain? Why can't you get it through your head that these discussions are here to provide a way for people to exchange information. If the biggest worry in your life is your "status" on the discussion forum, you should consider yourself very fortunate indeed. I for one am not going to lose any sleep over whether or not a question is "unresolved for all time".
PS There really is a way to forget about it...just forget about it!

This is a user to user technical support forum.  It is not our responsibility to convince you of anything.
Do you actually have a technical support question?  If not, post your question on a blog or somewhere more appropriate.

Why won't Adobe open a Pdf? Why do I pay for a service that will not open a pdf?

Maybe you could supply us with more details about what exactly you are doing, how you are doing and what you are using to do it.
The reason I say this is because you are in the forum for Adobe Reader which is a FREE application and not a service.

  • Why should we queue?

    Hello Architects and Software enginners,
I think things that may be needed in a specific scenario, may not be crucial in another scenario, in other words I don't believe a common solution exists for all situations.
So here is my scenario and my question is do I need to use the queing mechanism in this case? We have an Oracle EBS 11.5.10 with DB 10.2.0.1 system.
We have to exchange cXML documents with a vendor. For outbound, we need to transform table data to a cXML document and send it to the vendor via https. For inbound, we need to get cXML docs from the vendor via https and create a flat file in our system to load to our EBS interface tables. All this will be done in bacth/asynchronous mode.
For outbound, the data is already in the EBS tables. Why can't I loop through to get the records, create the cXML documents (say using XML DB) and use utl_http to post to the vendor on the fly per schedule say 10 times a day? Another option would be when the records are created I can create the cXML and store in a temporary table as a clob and then post to vendor as per schedule. Why do I need to use queing, because queuing seems to do the same thing-store in a queue table, dequeue it from there and and process it?
Similarly for inbound why can't I get the cXML from the vendor, store it in a temp table as a clob and extract the text and create my file? Why should I use queueing? It just seems to be additional processing.
As you can see it is a very basic question so let the opinions, ideas, critiques, disagreements flow :-)
I highly appreciate your input as it will help determine how we architect our solution.
    Thanks
    Sandeep

    Hi Damorgan,
Appreciate it very much you taking the time to reply...on a weekend!. As a technologist I understand your point. But as business customers we have to look out for our best interests, so based on business realities I will disagree with some of your statements. I don't want to deviate from learning from you on the needs of AQ for this project. I wish we had met at the openworld so that we could have exchanged rants face to face, your EBS colleagues were targets of mine :-)
Now to your question. AQ is for real-time not batches. ...If you are going to batch it ... AQ is more technology than you need.
How is AQ real time? I am not trying to argue here, just trying to understand please bear with me and correct me if I am wrong. If you are queuing something, it means that you want to do something later, how many milliseconds afterwards that may be. I thought that was the whole point of queing so that users can continue doing what they are doing and leave the intensive processing to be done later without waiting online. Isn't this simply a batch that runs more often? A listener may be listening, wakes up every once in a while and processes the messages in batch-Again I don't know how this works but I am anticipating soemthing like this happens, please correct me. If there are disparate messages coming from many systems, queing makes sense in an EAI architecture. But in a point-to-point, as in this project, what is the point? :-)
Also, can I queue up cXML type of messages in clobs? I read somewhere that only native Oracle XML can be queued up in AQ. An example of cXML is below.
I would recommend that if your organization wishes to be competitive. And if you wish to have skills that are competitive in the marketplace you (your organization) start taking this technology seriously. Patch to 10.2.0.4 immediately and upgrade to 11.1.0.7 by August. Then throw away the antiquated batch mode model, use AQ, and communicate with your vendors in a more timely and efficient manner.
I would agree doing away with the batch if I understand AQ better. From what I read, I have explained my understanding of AQ earlier. We have had regular issues with EBS Workflow queueing mechanisms for e-mail notifications where things get piled up for no apparent reason and when we open an SR the inevitable result is "rebuild the queue, bounce Apache, bounce concurrent managers etc..." with no real resolution which is causing me to hesitate using AQ for financial documents.
Also, we will be upgrading to 11 soon but not soon enough for this project
