"Open Recent" menus not working

Since installing Leopard, none of my applications that feature an "open recent" menu will show any items, even after significant usage. Any idea what's causing this and how I can fix it?

Apply the system-wide change noted in http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050919045154542 and restart. That should fix the problem.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Most likely, water damage.
You can try putting your iPod in a tupperware, half filled (maybe half inch) with rice grains, close the cover for about a week.
If you have done this, as soon as it got wet, higher chances of success, now looks like the water moisture is getting to the LCD screen.
Then you can always bring it to Apple Genius bar, for a an overhaul. (may cost you half the price of a new iPod classic.)

Safari hierarchical menus not working correctly

I'm having a problem with Safari's hierarchical menus not working correctly. They pop out in odd positions, and--worst of all--the big ones (for folders that contain lots of bookmarks) pop out right on top of the main bookmarks menu, making it all but impossible to navigate that main menu. I've tried all the usual tricks: log out/restart the system, restart Safari, reset Safari, boot in safe boot mode, repair permissions, yank Safari's bookmarks prefs file, even reinstall Safari, and nothing worked. I've also noticed the same behavior in Camino. My system hierarchical menus work fine, though, so I'm thinking I have a corrupt prefs file somewhere. I'm using Safari 4.04 with no extra plugins beyond what come with it on 10.5.8. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix this?

AFAIK, the submenu will pop on either side, depending on available space and if there are further subfolders, allowing them to continue in the same direction.
Since the new account doesn't exhibit the issue, there are two ways to attack the problem. One is to log into your new account, make a list of the preference files (plists) located in /username/Library/Preferences/, including any in the ByHost subfolder, log back into the original account, move everything not on that list into a newly created folder on the Desktop, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can copy the ones in the Desktop folder (one at time) back into /Preferences/, restart, and see if the problem returns. If so, you've identified the corrupt/conflicting one. Continue with all of them until isolating the bad ones. That'll save you the trouble of resetting preferences.
The second way is much more detailed and I'll not burden you with the steps unless the above doesn't fix the issue.

If you mean Open Office is not always able to correctly open documents received from clients created with MS Office, then the only real solution is to purchase Office 2011 for Mac. As good as some of the free alternatives are, they can't duplicate every feature of MS Office.

My Open GL is not working in CS4 Windows 7

I recently got a new computer and loaded my Photoshop CS4 on to it and the features of Open GL such as holding down the z key and using the scroll on the mouse to zoom in and out and also the left and right bracket key inceasing or decreasing the size of the brush do not work. The new computer is using Windows 7 64 bit and has an AMD quad core with 8 Gb RAM. I checked to make sure that Open GL is selected in the Edit>Preference>Performance where it also tells me that the graphics card does support accelerated graphics for Open GL.
Does anybody have any other ideas on what I can do to get this to work?

What version of driver are you running?
If it's Catalyst 12.4, I suggest you try downloading specifically Catalyst 12.2, uninstalling Catalyst 12.4, then installing 12.2 and testing again.
I don't have exactly the same card you do (mine's a 5760) but I've had 12.2 in for a while and that versoin works very well with Photoshop.

Help menus not working for CS5 Production Premium

I have installed the trial version of CS5 Production Premium on a Windows 7 64-bit PC. I canot get the Help menus to work for any of the applications.
Is this a limitation of the CS5 trial version?
I recently purchased Premiere Elements, but I did not deactivate it before installing Windows 7 on my PC. Would this interfere with the help menus for CS5?

I think the Adobe site was down for maintenance a few days ago. My CS5 Help menus are working fine today.

Thank you for your prompt response. However, it does not appear to have worked. My methodology is as follows:
1. I located the com.appl.iWork.Pages.LSSharedFileList.plist and put it into the Trash.
2. I deleted the file from the Trash.
3. I opened Pages.
4. I then opened three documents in Pages
5. I then closed two of those documents.
6. I then checked my "Open Recent" menu and found nothing but greyed out "Clear Menu" again.
I believe I'd done this previously as well with the same results. Any other ideas? Thanks again.

Why are moving menus not working in build?

Recently, whenever I've tried creating a moving menu by putting tracks into drop zones, the project simulates fine, but the menus don't work when they're built. I've checked the VOB files and the problem is definitely there – it's nothing to do with the player.
Today I created a simple project by automatically creating chapter menus and using several of the Apple templates, to create three menus for three tracks. The only elements I imported were three video tracks and their accompanying audio tracks. None of the menus works when built: one of them (using the 'City' template) is completely blank, in one ('Leader') the template's moving background doesn't work, but the clips in the buttons work, and in the third ('Filmstrip') the button highlights work, but the buttons are blank where the clips should be.
I've also tried creating my own moving menu design, using drop zones that I've made, and the same thing happens. Yet in a previous version of DVD Studio Pro I've created similar menus that work perfectly.
Has something broken in vsn 4.1.0? Anybody any ideas why this is happening.

i will still research the subject. but the first thing that comes into my mind is t-code VA05. with this, you have the option to change the Plant en masse. so a possible workaround is for you to list a number of sales orders using VA05. you then sort the line items by Plant. choose all items with the same plant, change the plant via mass change... then change back to the original plant. hopefully, the new settings should apply.
do test a few sales orders by doing this for a larger scope.

Open Hub is not working after upgrade

I did an SAP BI upgrade from 7.0 to 7.3.
The open hub destination was working fine before the upgrade, I could see the data coming in the file.
After the upgrade, there is no data coming to the file. System says "no data available".

Deleting Data from the Table
With an extraction to a database table, you can either retain the history of the data or just
store the new data in the table. Choose Delete Data from Table when defining your
destination if you want to overwrite the fields. In this case, the table is completely deleted and
regenerated before each extraction takes place. We recommend that you use this mode if you
do not want to store the history of the data in the table. If you do not select this option, the
system only generates the table once before the first extraction. We recommend that you use
this mode if you want to retain the history of the extracted data.
Note that if changes are made to the properties of the database table (for example, fields are
added), the table is always deleted and regenerated.
