Open Space as a work center

Hi Gurus,
My client is in fabrication work. Client has a huge open space where they perform the work. Now client  want to do the capacity planning for the open space. Suppose has the space of 10000 sq meter. In that space can produced 3 finished products. If the fourth order order comes system should show the overloading? How can i do this scenario in sap?
Its an urgent.

Hi Mayur,
For your requirement, below are some suggestions:
1. Create work center category as Free Space:
You can define the task list usability of the work center category by customizing transaction: OP40.
2. if required create the capacity category as "Free Space" by copying from 001/Machine.
Maintain all the other settings related to Work center like: Standard available capacity, shifts etc..
Whether to consider the capacity for 3 products or more is entirely depends on your work center formulas and standard values..

    I am unable to open the Projects from Project center with the Alias name with the server name i am able to open the projects, version is  project server 2010,
    My system is ABC.DC.IN  alias name i have given is DEF.AD.COM  
    With the system name i can able access PWA and all are working fine.
    As i have observed with alias name i can able to login to  pwa and all the server  setting approval center all are working fine but only in the project center i am not able to open the projects (http://DEF.AD.COM/pwa/ProjectDrillDown.aspx .xxxx) its
    is coming in the below of the ie. 
    But with Alias name these are the issues i am facing,
    1.when longing with alias name its asking two times for user name and password
    2.when i click on a project from project center its taking some time and asking for user name and password after i enter user name and password "PAGE cannot displayed" error i am getting.
    3. I have observed one more thing if click on Project details then only this issue  is coming project schedule and project information is also opening with Alias name.

  • How to reuse standard Activity subcomponents - Appointments, Tasks, Phone Calls and Emails within a custom work center?

    Requirement : We have a requirement to reuse the standard Activity subcomponents Appointments, Tasks, Phone Calls and Emails within a custom work centre. The requirement is to leverage and copy all sub functionalities Appointments, Tasks, Phone Calls and Emails available within the standard activity work center. This feature is available within Accounts, Opportunities, Leads etc. (Refer screenshot: Std_Act_Screen.jpg)
    We are unable to consume/embed the standard Activity (Work center) sub components Appointments, Tasks, Phone Calls and Emails within the custom work center. This is because of backend consistency check violation UI designer error message displayed. (Refer screenshot:Error while consuming standard activities.jpg)
    Ø  Open Question:
    a.      Is there a limitation to consume/embed the standard Activity (Work center) subcomponents Appointments, Tasks, Phone Calls and Emails within a custom work center?  We have noticed that this standard Activity Work center subcomponents Appointments, Tasks, Phone Calls and Emails has been repeatedly reused within the application in Account, Opportunity, Sales lead, Lead, Sales Quote Objects.
    b.      Is there an alternative way in which we can call [Through API etc..] the standard Activity Work center subcomponents Appointments, Tasks, Phone Calls and Emails?
    We need your guidance to overcome the error to enable the reuse of the standard Activity Work center sub-components Appointments, Tasks, Phone Calls and Emails within our custom work center or suggest a suitable workaround on how this can be achieved.

  • My pinch open & close is not working on my macbook pro......any particular reason?

  • Block production work center during maintenance order

    Dear Experts,
    iam trying to do the integration between PM and PP, I want to block the production work center from any production order  when there is any maintenance order opened for a certain equipment which is inside this  work center ,
    till now i did the following:
    1) the production work center is now inside the equipment location tab
    2) when i open any maintenance order i put system condition as zero
    now what i only achieved ,
    - in transaction CM25 the capacity is black for the period of the maintenance order
    BUT the work center is not blocked and any production order can be created without any error

    Hi,
    Till time you have performed right things to integrate PP-PM & system is also responding according to setting.
    Showing block capicity in CM25 against the Maintenance Order.
    If you want to block production order as well, you need to do one more setting.
    go to t- code OIOI, selection Production order types (those you want to block) & in capacity Availabilty choose Collect conversion as 3 : No creation if there is insufficiant caacity.

  • Work center deletion

    Dear All,
    I am deleting work center from CS02 transaction..this work is new and not in used...My problem is it is taking more than half day to delete this work center.
    I tried from deletion/archiving with PP_WKC but it is showing no data is selected.
    What would be the reason for taking much time. Has anybody tried this successfully ?

    are you currently using the work center already in some existing tasklists or does it have any open production orders or other places where it is being currently used,
    or maybe there could be a background job which is scheduled that is probably using the workcenter at the time when you tried to delete it
    or your server must be experiencing some downtime
    so maybe that could be the reason why, but normally i guess it should not take more than a couple of minutes at the maximum
    i am unable think of any other reasons,
    hope you can find out the cause and let us know the reason

    I have encountered with a problem regarding, for example, when VAR customer 'X' create new message in work center and specify message processor to partner no '1'  (partner no 1 has employee role with username 'A' in BP) but when username 'A' log on and open work center via SAPGUI to find a new message created to him, username 'A' did't got a new message from VAR customer 'X' whom choose specify message processor to him and work center show My Messages (0)
    why, do I set something config wrong ?

    1) can you check in CRM_DNO_MONITOR and oepn the ticket , whethere the processor name appearing in the ticket?
    2) Does your customer assign the processor manually or any automatic support team assgnemt, if so please verify your automatic support tean assignment against the blog

  • Activity cost at work center

    Dear Exports,
    I have a requirement in my project
    1. In a work center we have 3 activities. 1. Labour time
                                                                       2. Machine Time
                                                                        3. No. Kgs treated.
    I am able to give labour & Machine reates  by giving price at kp26. and number of minitus in routing.
    But my client wants machine hour rate : no. labours worked X Time worked  X rate per hour .
    i.e he wanted to give time in labour time activity and no of employees worked in machine time the formula must claculate
      Labour time X Machine time(No of Workers worked) X KP26 Price(Per Labour hour).
    Can Any body help me please...

    Check if there is an existing WC formula that you can use or create your own formula for the work center.
    My challenge (at a different business, so I don't have the exact work in front of me, but I have notes) was  Crew size x Machine Hours x Activity rate.
    In the routing Operation Details is a section General Data.
    There is a field: Number of Employees, field name ANZMA,  That is where we populated Crew size
    Use an existing formula if possible
    Which formula do I use??                                   
        Work Center Basic Data (CR02)  determine standard value key                         
        Go to  "Define Standard Value Key" in IMG (OP19); select std value key and click detail button          
         Note the Parameter used                                        IMG path:  Production>Basic Data>WorkCenter>General Data>Standard Value >Define Standard Value Key
        Go to "Define formulas for work centers" in IMG (OP54); select formula that uses the field parameters required          IMG path:  Production>Basic Data>WorkCenter>Capacity Planning>Work Center Formulas>
                         Define formulas for work centers                                        
    Not there?  Create the formula     
         In English - what do you want to calculate?
         Find parameters for the fields in the calculation
         Write formula (op54)  Copy from existing formula if possible - spaces in the equation are necessary
                             OP17 is where to create new Parameters.
    This is all configuration - with some high leve security (in our system).  Configur and TEST CAREFULLY

  • Combine Work Center Link Groups in one Work Center

    Hello Experts,
    our requirement is to combine the Work Center Link Groups of several Work Centers into one Custom Work Center.
    For example, the work centers Knowledge Management and Managing Operations. (IC-MGRKM, IC-MGRMA)
    They have Work Center Link Groups like IC-MGMA-CR or IC-MGKM-CR. Now we defined an own work center Y-IC-MGRMA and assigned these links groups (and others) to the Work Center.
    However, when we open the Work Center we only ever see links of one work center type (for example only the links of Knowledge Management).
    Is it even possible to combine the different work centers into one big work center with many links? What would we have to do to achieve this?
    Help would be appreciated!

    If I am not wrong you are assigning standard work Center Link Groups like IC-MGMA-CR & IC-MGKM-CR to newly created Work center Y-IC-MGRMA .If I try the same, all related links can be made visible. The process you are following is correct.
         You may have confused with the nomenclature of your work center ID - Y-IC-MGRM. Please look into the "Group ID" column, if you are assigning standard group links as mentioned above you will find three logical link ID for Knowledge management & two for MGMA too. In short if five logical links are available in second level navigation then things are correct at you end. I tried it and its working fine.

  • Navigating directly from ECC(ABAP) to CRM UI Work Center/Link

    Hi gurus,
    I tried searching and couldn't find a relevant answer so I hope someone can help. We'd like to go directly from an ECC custom transaction we use to view our inventory and navigate directly to a specific work center/logical link within the WebUI that will display some custom development we've done to streamline the quote entry process. Parameters are passed from the inventory transaction and then pre-populated into a custom screen we developed.
    I've seen tons of documentation on launching R/3 transactions from within WebUI and I know how to go directly to a specific object using a formatted URL but I can't find any info on going directly to a specific work center menu entry and/or a direct logical link from within ABAP.
    Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks in advance.

    In the document mentioned above is a way to create a URL to the WebClient directly opening a specifc UI Component in the UI Frame.
    You could even open this one in an HTML control inside your transaction.

  • Can't open Spaces Preferences from the MenuBar Spaces icon

    ---I have to go to System Prefs and do it from there.
    The Menu Bar Spaces icon offers the possibility to open Spaces Prefs from there, but it doesn't work. Nothing happens.

    Sounds like Spaces may be corrupted. You may need to reinstall by doing an Archive & Install.
    You also may be able to simply re-install Spaces using Pacifist which will install individual applications from the installation disk. I haven’t used Pacifist, but I’ve seen it highly recommended on this forum and it has a high rating from those who have used it at VersionTracker.com.

    Hello Sergey.
    If it's still relevant for you. You can change default work center in navigation bar profile of your business role (tx. CRMC_UI_NBLINKS). On the first screen (where all navigation bar profiles are displayed) there is a third column "Link ID". Here you put link id of the default Work Center.

    Hello Deepak,
    There is no relation between capacity planner grp & Maintenance planner group...These are 2 different things..
    Now the work centers can be defined for the technicians if  HR module is not implemented...
    To perform the capacity planning for the technicians, there daily working hrs must be maintained in the system..Though the maintenance is working for 24 hrs,Single technician cannot work for entire 24 hrs..

    I have already tested the method you are mentioning. You cannot save a order without work center. So, you need to use a dummy work center and change all the open orders.. if you want to change capacity category from A to B. New capacity category should be mentioned in dummy or original work center.
    When you replace the work center, order will be gng for scheduling.. which leads to change of Basis start date and earliest start date... this is an inconsistency...
    To avoid it... i followed below steps
    1. Uncheck the capacity requirement indicator in all open orders
    2. when u try to delete, it will say "Capacity is still being used"
    3. Table KBED, use capacity ID and run, it will list out the pending orders
    4. When the table has no entries, delete the capacity category
    5. check all capacity indicator

  • Person assigned to a work center

    Hi,
    We are using work force planning to assign resources to activities. We have some problem with one of the work centres. When we click on the person dropdown box in the personal assignment tab then we would expect to see the individuals that are in the work centre associated with the activity. We can see six persons from project builder and when we checked work center master data we could see only four persons.
    When checked thoroughly, the data at work centre master data is picked from HRP1001 and its showing only 4 persons. At the project level, the data is picked from the same table but initially fetches with work centre as input and then capacity ID as input. Finally it combines the data (6 Persons) and show from CJ20n and its different from the work centre data.
    is this the standard behavior or we missing something

    I think you have assigned two person at capacity category level for that WC.
    Open your WC  in CJR3 --> Click on capacity header icon -->on new screen click on HRMS link button  ( check no of person assigned here  it should be two )
