Open view go to zoom and its grayed out - how do i get it back?
hard drive crashed and reinstalled thunderbird and now no zoom function
Zoom is only active if you,
1. Have a message displaying in the Message Pane. Press F8 to turn that on.
2. You open a message in a window or tab.
If you are just looking at the Inbox and have the message pane turned off the feature is not active.

I uploaded photos in .jpg format to my iPad, but now all of those photos appear as .ithmb files and cannot be opened, even on the thumbdrive they originated from. How do I get them back to .jpgs?
Sorry, should've mentioned some more information. I synced the ipad to the folder of photos. The original photos had file names like "_MG_4865.jpg" and after syncing the folder in Itunes, all files were now found in a folder called "iPod Photo Cache" which was filled with many folders with labels like "F23" etc. (There were ALOT of photos.) In those folders there are several files with names like "T343.ithmb". Not a .jpg to be found and I can't view any of the photos.

I've just found the keyboard shortcut in Garageband for 'copy region' had changed from cmdC to ctrlC. I went to Preferences and clicked Restore Defaults for shortcuts. Now its altC . How can I get it back to the original commands.
When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

Open in finder icon was deleted by someone. How can I get that back? The open in finder was a upsidedown arrow. All of my downloads went to that open in finder on my dock. Is there anyway I can get that icon back? I have a macbook.

Your notes should be stored in your backup, so if you have backed up the iPad and that backup does contain those notes that you deleted, you can try restoring from your backup. If you haven't backed up the iPad since you created those notes, they are gone.
If you backup with iCloud only, restoring from backup involves erasing the device and then going through the setup all over again and finally restoring from the iCloud backup. This article explains the process quite clearly.

If you backup with iTunes, connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and right click on the device name on the left and select - Restore from Backup. But before you do that .... turn off auto sync in iTunes - without connecting the iPad - launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box at the bottom of that window in order to turn off auto sync.
Email messages are not stored in your backups. -

Well, when you restore your ipad, there is really no way to get the information back. The reason you restore it i to get all of the information off of it. Why did you restore it if you wanted to keep the info?
Aa far as I know, there is no way to un-restore any device. But, you can put the info back onto the device if it was on your computer, etc.

Thanks so much for being out there for me - someone I can talk to. I went to purchases and unfortunately it is no longer there. I dowloaded the Notes App again for free. I will just buy Bejeweled again. I guess the price of downloading maverick was losing my beloved video game. Press and hold the 'keyboard' key at the bottom right of the keyboard and then select Dock and Merge from the popup.
If the keyboard becomes split at the bottom of the screen, or if you want to join it when it's undocked, then you can join the two halves together by using a finger on each half to drag them together (similarly you can then use two fingers to re-split the keyboard). If you don't want the option of a split keyboard then you can turn it off via Settings > General > Keyboard > Split Keyboard 'off' -
