Forms 6i doesn't work with 9iAS Release 2. You have to recompile the Forms to version 9i first.

  • Oracle 10G Encryption Problem - ORA-28353: failed to open wallet

    I have an Oracle 10g R2 database. I would like to use the Transparent Database Encription on a table. However, whenever I try to create or open a wallet I get the following error:
    ORA-28353: failed to open wallet
    I have a directory called wallet in the $ORACLE_BASE directory. I've checked Meta-Link. I can't seem to find any information on what to do.
    Any out-of-the-box ideas.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi,
    Did you follow the procedure described in Oracle 10g documentation titled as 'Advanced Security' about "Using Transparent Data Encryption" (Chapter 3).????
    Also , in the advisable actions of Oracle about this type of error is this....
    Action: Execute the command again using the correct wallet password or verfying a wallet exists in the specified directory. If necessary, create a new wallet and initialize it.

  • Discoverer Desktop (4)- Receiving error Attempt to Open Workbook Failed

    Hi,
    The reason for this error is multiple people are opening same workbook. This has never been a problem before as the user would receive message: "Open Workbook as Read Only..."
    Now they only get the message: "Attempt to Open Workbook Failed."
    We have tested here and have determined it is not a generell issue because we have the problem only on two workstations.
    I check the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER for diffenerence between the workstations but without any success.
    There is no file access problem
    Any idea?
    Thx

    Hi all,
    We are having exactly the same problem. I've come to the point that there's a problem between Discoverer Desktop 4i and XP SP3.
    The scenario we have is:
    a) If an user with SP2 creates a workbook and saves it into the network shared folder,
    a.1) It can be opened by users with SP2 as many times as the want. They just receive the "Open Workbook as Read Only" warning message.
    a.2) Users with SP3 can open it only if the workbook is not open by any other user. After that all users receive the "Attempt to Open..." error message.
    a.3) If a user with SP3 makes any change to the workbook and saves it, it doesn't matter which SP version you have, the file becomes "corrupt" and only one user can open it at the same time.
    b) If an user with SP3 creates a workbook and saves it into the network shared folder it can only be opened by one user at the same time
    I've also made tests and the same error occurs if the .dis file is located in a local directory (c:\My Documents for example). I can not open it twice in my computer in two different discoverer desktop instances, and I have SP3, while another user with SP2 can.
    Any ideas? Our Discoverer Desktop version is 4.1.48.06.00

  • Purchasing Open Inerface Failed

    Hello
    We are using the purchasing opne interface in order to isnert lines into Blanket Purchase Agreements after a requisition is approved. After upgrading to 11.5.10 (from 11.5.9), the open interface fails with the following error:
    "Column name: update_po_lines_flag head id 123456 line id 123456 error:error: record specified in po_lines_interface is invalid. Neither a new record in PO_Lines nor in PO_Lines_Location will be created".
    I wasn't able to find the "update_po_lines_flag" anywhere in the DB (not in the upgraded one and not in the old one).
    Does anyone have an idea regarding this column?
    Thanks
    Vanil_team

    Hi Hussein - thank you for the quick reply
    the case in the not is not similar to our issue. I didn't mention that when i create
    a requisition with only one line, the process completes successfuly, but when trying to insert
    more than one line into the inerface, the error occurs. In the po_lines_interface table - the line num is the same
    for all of the requisition lines that the interface tries to insert into the PO. Myabe something in 11.5.10
    prevents the interface from inserting lines with the same line_num.
    Best Regards,
    Vanil

  • ORA-28759 when trying to open wallet

    Hello,
    I have a problem when I try to do a https request via utl_http.
    Database version is
    SYS@tcp_iig9_test> select * from v$version;
    BANNER
    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production

    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - ProductionThe database is running on a Windows Server 2008 32 bit Standard SP2.
    I create a simple wallet using orapki on the database server the following way
    c:\> orapki wallet create -wallet wallet-client -auto_loginthe wallet is created successfully, I have the ewallet.e12 file and a cwallet.sso file in the wallet-client directory:
    C:\wallet-client>dir

                   2 Dir(s)     475,807,744 bytes freeJust to be sure I opened the wallet with the wallet manager successfully.
    after that I want to do a request with the following code:
    SYS@tcp_iig9_test> r
      1  declare
      2  vReq varchar2(2000);
      3  begin
      4  utl_http.set_wallet('file:c:\wallet-client', '<pwd>');
      5  vReq := utl_http.request('https://supporthtml.oracle.com');
      6* end;
    declare

    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1722
    ORA-28759: failure to open file
    ORA-06512: at line 5Note that I do not care if the certificate chain is OK at this time (the root certificate of the oracle support portal would be from verisign which is in the wallet btw.).
    same thing happens if I pass the path to the wallet directly to utl_http.request :
    SYS@tcp_iig9_test> r
      1  declare
      2    vReq varchar2(2000);
      3  begin
      4    vReq := utl_http.request('https://supporthtml.oracle.com', null, 'file:c:/wallet-client', '<pwd>');
      5* end;
    declare
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-29273: HTTP request failed
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1722
    ORA-28759: failure to open file
    ORA-06512: at line 4To add: I created ACL's like here:
    http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/dbms_network_acl_admin.html
    and after the ACL's where created correctly I ended up with the above error.
    To exclude this has anything to do with Network ACL's I tested the whole stuff with the sys user (as seen above) - the error persists.
    When searching the documentation for ORA-28759 I get here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/network.111/b28530/asossl.htm#ASOAG9698
    Which begs the question: what has this to do with SQL*Net SSL authentication? Anyway; I added the WALLET_PATH to my sqlnet.ora on the server just to be sure:
    WALLET_LOCATION =
    (SOURCE=(METHOD=FILE)(METHOD_DATA=(DIRECTORY=c:\wallet-info)))which resulted in exactly the same behaviour (yes I did bounce the listener and the oracle service just to be sure)...
    A google search came back with the same advice: add the correct WALLET_LOCATION to your sqlnet.ora for version 10.2.x. Just to add: I tested the same thing on 10.2.0.4 WITHOUT adding WALLET_LOCATION to the sqlnet.ora successfully, so I am really wondering what I am missing here.
    Yes, I do have read / write privilages to the directory (to test I wrote a file using utl_file ), yes I am darn sure I passed the correct password for the wallet, and yes I am darn sure the wallet is correct (as said I opened it successfully using wallet manager).
    Did anyone encounter a similar issue?
    cheers

    Found the solution: as noted in the 11gR2 documentation for set_wallet (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e16760/u_http.htm#i998681): If the wallet is auto-login enabled, the password may be omitted and should be set to NULL. The password passed to utl_http.request should (well, moreover a must ) be set to null when auto-login is enabled, after that it works...This is different to 10gR2...Yeah well, if you can read, you'll be in the lead...
    It get's funny though if you open the wallet with wallet manager (this fancy GUI bloatware I used to check if I entered the password correct in the first place). Once the wallet is opened and saved with Wallet Manager the error is back wheter I pass a password or not.
    cheers

  • Payables Open Interface failed-help plz.

    All,
    Version: 11.5.10.2
    The project is about integrating the legacy system with Oracle 11i. i.e we are importing invoices created in 3rd party appln and importing it to Oracle thru Payables Open interface. I'm stuck with 1 use case. i.e invoice against a PO having split accounting.
    scenario 1:
    1. created a PO in Oracle with 1 line having 2 distributions
    2. Against the same PO, invoice is created with for the same line item and imported to Oracle. I populated PO related info in PONumber,POLineNumber and POShipmentNum in the ap_invoice_lines_interface table.
    3. Payables OPen interface worked fine
    scenario 2:
    1. Against the same PO having split, created an invoice for the line item, this time I added a freight on to it.
    2. Concurrent failed(i.e it didnt throw any error to the ap rejections table),
    3. so i populated po_distribution_num to the ITEM line, and ran the concurrent again. It processed the invoice successfully.
    I've following queries:
    1. In the 1st scenario, without populating po_dist_num to the lines table, conc. processed the invoice successfully
    2. In the 2nd, only after populating the po_dist_num, the conc. processed it successfully
    3. In what scenario/test case, does the payables open interface expects po_dist_num?
    Please advise.
