Open windows wont close

Somehow I got myself into what should be an easily resolved problem, but I havn't been able to figure it out.
I have the main Elements window open on a second monitor. It is so far open that the handle bar at the top of the screen
that allows you to move the window around the screen is hidden behind the menu bar on my mac. The bottom of the open window is also below the
bottom of the same computer screen. The result is that I cannot close the active Elements window or move it to my primary window where I may be
able to grab the top and reduce the size. I can bring in the sides but that doesn't help close the window.
I know I'm probably only one button away, but Which button?

Well, worst case you can always just Restore Workspace (under the Window menu).
Your other option is to temporarily increase the resolution of your monitor so that the top of this window is displayed.
Or you can temporarily decrease the resolution of your monitor so that all of the windows get smaller and rejigger into position, then reset your monitor to your regular resolution.

Open Window and Close Window Commands

I used to use Go Live and I could create buttons to enable the end user to open and or close a pop up window. Is there a way to do this in iWeb? Or is it possible to make a graphic appear on a page whenever you roll over a hot spot or graphic on that same page?

Forms window wont close

Hey guys. I keep on running into this problem with forms windows not closing consistently. Sometimes it closes and sometimes i have to minimize, then close or minimize, re-open and close. And sometimes I can just wait for a little bit and close the window...
The application is ran by a form which serves as a menu and opens other forms. Im on forms version 10g, and database 9i... anyone ran into this problem before?

Don't know if it's related, but if you close Firefox it tries to shutdown the Forms applet nicely and thus shutting down can take a couple of seconds if a lot is going on in the exit-form, etc.
Internet Explorer does not do this and just kills the JVM. That leads to idle sessions on the application server that will eventually be removed when the server discovers they are idle.
Perhaps there is something going wrong in the shutdown code when using Firefox. You could have to try and see what is causing this. Perhaps start removing triggers from the Form that might fire when closing the form (validation, etc.)
PS. Are you sure you are using JInitiator in combination with Firefox. As far as I know that's a rare combination and most Firefox users will use Sun JVM. Also be sure that you require a rather new version of JInitiator and patchset 2 of Forms (10.1.2.2.0) to be certified to run JInitiator with Firefox. Find all open windows and close them

Hi,
I'm writing an application that creates a new thread. This thread loads an other application from the filesystem and invokes the main method.
When the thread loads an application that opens a frame, my application can stop the thread, but the frame stays open.
Is there a way that my application can detect if the thread has opened a frame and if there are opened frames that it can close them?

Well, tht's an idea, but my problem is, that my thread can start any aplication by invoking it's main-method.
That means that even my Thread doesn't know which and how many frames it has opened or at least I don't know how I could get a list of all openened frames :-(

Window wont close, and acts weird

hello,
I have a swing app (application, not applet) that works just like it should, except after I use it (if I just open and close the program, everything is fine) it won't close. In other words, when I actualy use it for what it was meant, it won't close. The frame just goes blank (back-ground gray) and won't close. I have to force-quit it. I've tested my app on mac os x, linux and winxp, and winxp is the only system that seems to have a problem. Everything is java 1.4.2.
Any insight would be most welcom... ;)

Sorry.. I do get the problem in other os's it just manifests differently. In mac os X it just stops responding, but the frame doesn't go blank. If it matters, it is a multi-threaded app, but I am careful to destroy my threads when I am done with them...

Spotify desktop window wont close

Hi, I am running Spotify on Windows7 PC, when I click the X button or select File/Exit the Spotify window does not close or minimize, it just sits there on the screen, the only way I can get rid of it is by doing a right click and selecting Refresh.This behaviou only applies to the Spotify window, all other programs close correctly, and other accounts on the same PC also have the same issue with Spotify. Anyone got any suggestions/ Thanks

F110 Open Items wont close up

While generating payment proposal i get all the lines registered in my system as open items... i have paid most of them but they still appear as open and i have to block them manually one by one...
this occurs in Tx code F110... is this a common trouble? or am i missing something here?

As Ashok says, you have to do payment run before checking an item is open or not. To check whether an item is open or not, you have to go to FBL1n rather than FBL5n & click on open items & put todays date & run the repor to see all open items for that vendor.

Force other Windows to close

In my Oracle Form, the users can select items from the menu and open a new Window in the application. There is a danger that they could get too many Windows open and slow down the application.
Is there a way to force other Windows to close when they open a new one?

Check out the call new_form. If that doesn't work for your situation you will have to maintain a global variable of opened windows and close the one the user came from.

My iphoto wont close and wont let macbook close

yes it and Notes work fine on a virgin user account
I did a full restore of the entire MBP from my Time Machine 12-19-09 backup, sadly, to no avail. Since I didnt have this issue on that date, I cannot understand why it didnt work, ie, the problem was still there. Wierd !
To get my mail working properly again, what I did was delete the problem account, recreate a new account with same username, and am trying to restore folder by folder from Time Machine. This is not working very well:
1. Calendar - restoring from the Application Support/Calendar folder causes a spinning beachball
2. key desktop folders with my data - Im told that "The operation cant be completed because you dont have permisson to access some of the items".
3. Contacts - its not obvious how to restore my contacts - where are they ?
4. restore vs copying from the actual Finder window of a Time Machine backup isnt clear. In any case the Finder level copies yield the aforementioned error and seem to put some random number of successful copies of folders into any root folder. Not good.
Ive got a real mess on my hands now, and Ive already spent hours and hours unsorting this thing.
you are having all these permissions problems because the new user you created has a different UID than the old one. UID is different from username. it's a number. the first created user has UID 501, the second has 502 etc. UID's are what determines permissions, not user names. we can change the new user's UID to align with the old one but we need to find out what the old one was. how many users did you have. was the old user the first created on the computer?
btw, contacts are stored in homedirectory/library/application support/address book. just restore the whole directory. but don't do this yet and don't copy stuff from the TM drive via finder. use the TM interface only.
