Open With in Photo Viewer app gives hundreds of NoUIEntrypoints-DesignMode

I am developing a store app and have a button on my app (Open With) in the same way as the Windows 8.1 Photo app. This works fine, however, I now get hundreds of entries saying NoUKEntryPoints-DesignMode in the list which makes it take a long time to open.
This also happens in the Windows Photo App too.
Can anyone throw any light on this, I assume its something I have done in my app

I had over 1000 entries like the one below, any idea how these would have got there?
Is there an easy way to get rid of them other than deleting them one at a time?

Bridge opens in Windows Photo Viewer

This is a pain previous version opened directly into Photoshop, is this a bug can this be changed from Windows Viewer default to Photoshop

I actually WANT my BMPs to open with Windows Photo Viewer, but they don't For some reason PNG files DO open with Windows Photo Viewer by default in Bridge, but BMPs open with Photoshop.
The time to load photoshop is like loading a cannon to shoot a goldfish oftentimes when I just want to look at a picture quickly rather than edit it, sooo, I was wondering is there any way to change items TO use Windows Photo Viewer, since it's not listed as an option for anything but PNG?
Of course, in the File Associations setting of Preferances, you can Browse for a new program to add, but it doesn't like the input of %SystemRoot%\System32\rundll32.exe "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Photo Viewer\PhotoViewer.dll", ImageView_Fullscreen %1 (where %1 is the filename) which is what Windows uses normally to open Windows Photo Viewer since it's part of a DLL rather than a separate program...According to a google of windows photo viewer location
.... Yet, of course Bridge opens PNG files for me with Windows Photo Viewer, so there must be some way to add the option manually for BMP somehow if I can copy whatever set up it's using to open PNG files with it?

Not that I have a solution... I'm just sympathizing as I have the same issue... can't select the frist album because the title bar... and strangely it's only happening in iphone4 not in 3GS... currently I am syncing my photo from Aperture... to reoslve this I just created dummy event with one meaningless photo inside. I think it's a big bug!!!

Tips on photo viewer app

I would like an app to show my photos from Aperture on my iPhone and iPad. I want to view the events and albums with the image adjustments I have done on the computer (MacBook Pro). Is there such an app?

There are many photo view apps in the app store. Just what are you trying to accomplish that the iPod's built-in viewer does not work.

You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this,boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type: ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.
Repair User Permissions

Every time I open iPhoto a window opens telling me that there are 3 photos that have not been imported. Recovered folders are opened with no photos and I cannot find which photos have not been imported. Help please!

When I answer yes then nothing happens and if I answer no then a recovered folder is opened with no photos in it. These recoverable folders keep opening with no photos in them. I cannot find which photos have not been imported. Can anyone assist please?

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

Issue with Windows Photo Viewer: "can't save picture because an unknown error occured"

I recently installed Windows 7 RC (Build 7100). I quite often have an issue in Windows Photo Viewer when rotating an image and trying to go to the next picture. It gives me the error "Windows Photo Viewer can't save picture because an unknown error occured".
Seperate from this issue: when I delete a picture in Windows Photo Viewer, it is still in the Windows Explorer overview of files. This did not use to be the case in Windows XP?

In addition, please understand that Nikon RAW images (and most Canon) do not support rotate functionality in Windows Photo Viewer, and thus rotate is
disabled. To rotate those types of images, the user will need to use an image editing program that fully supports their RAW codec.

I am using Win 7 x64 Ultimate RTM and still have this problem (with JPG's dumped from my Nikon to the hard drive). Doesn't do it on every one that I rotate, but still very annoying. Is there a fix?

Hi eveyone. I need a fix on this. I´m running my MBA with 10.8.3 and in my donwload folder i have some files to check. Some .pdf, some .doc and so on. The issue i´m having is that when i try to open one of this files with the right button "Open With" instruction, all the available apps, appears at least duplicated and in some cases, 5 times. How i fix this bug. Please advice. Thanks.

I have the same with Preview and Word. Only way to get rid of it is when you restart your Macbook.

Any way to limit the number of applications that appear in the popup list when using the contextual menu item "Open With"? (It's not that I have duplicates showing.)
And... to be clear... this is not a "Get Info" > Open With question so as to bind a file type to a specific application, but just whether the list number can be reduced.
This has been bothering me for years, but since occasionally when the system is (apparently) searching for all of the most cryptic of apps that could possibly open a file the Finder does a SPOD and then the Finder crashes... I thought I'd finally post this question.
I've taken the time (over the years) to rebuild LaunchServices (via Onyx in my case) and trash cache files (via LeopardCacheCleaner)(i.e. com.apple.LaunchServices-0140.csstore and com.apple.LaunchServices-014nnn.csstore) but still the number of apps is problematic.
I even opened the LaunchServices preference files and looked at them in TextWrangler, but I don't see how the list can be limited to say... only 10 apps appearing.
Again... it is not that I'm showing duplicates, it's just that there are a lot of apps that I would never even remotely consider using to open a specific file.

*Launch Services* builds the list of applications that can open a particular file type from information that the applications provide. If an application indicates it can open the file type then it is listed. Once the application is registered, the system doesn't need to search the applications, it just looks at the LS database - rebuilding the database can clean up some issues, but apparently you have already done that.

Open with only shows 10 Apps

the open with menu does not show all apps that are installed on my iPhone4. There seems to be a limitation to 10 apps and I don't find a setting to configure which apps are shown. I'm running iOS5, but there was the same issue with iOS4.
Do you experience the same problem? Is there a solution? Is it a bug or a feature?

Yes, you can only see 10 apps in Open with.... It is not configurable. As the device is working to spec, there's not really a "solution". Sorry.

ICal opens with different window view

My iCal recently started to open in the USHolidays view instead of the "normal" iCal view, which displays my events, etc., that we've entered. We can easily switch the view to iCal view under the dropdown menu under Window. But... would rather avoid this inconvenience every time I go to check my calendar... Any ideas on how to correct this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Close all apps, then navigate to Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder and look for a file called com.apple.ical.plist once you locate the com.apple.plist file drag it to your desktop. Then restart in SafeMode again and then re-boot normally and try opening iCal. The .plist file is a preferences file and it may have become corrupt and just needs to rebuild which will happen automatically when you restart iCal.
