Open XML file ___ cannot be opened...

I have read of several people having the same problem but cannot find a definitive answer. I am on an iMac with version 10.6.8 OS X. I bought and installed Office 2011 last week (version 14.4.0) and I cannot open any file that I had created in version 2008 nor any file sent to me (I use Outlook Web email). The complete error message is: "The Open XML file solar.docx cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents or the file name might contain invalid characters (for example, \/)." I am at a loss as what do do. I am not a "techie" person, so any fix needs to be "spelled" out clearly.

This issue is related strictly to oMath tags and occurs when a graphical object or text box is anchored to the same paragraph that contains the equation.

ORACLE_HOME is on mount point u03, checked config.properties but no mention of mount point /u01.
Dont know from where /u01 came. Could you please help me re configuring the env pointing to /u03.
Reports server is up though without any issues.

Ensure that the report name is correct. Also ensure that the report exist in REPORTS_PATH environment variable. Otherwise run the report including the reports path.
E.g.
report=<reports directory>/test2.rdf

I created a site and created a document libarary and assigned a word document as a content type . I have written a workflow to create a new document . The workflow is working fine and all the document is getting created and values are getting stored
in it .
As per my requirement I am saving the above site as site template .
After that I am creating a new site based on the above site template , Its getting created and I started the workflow , its working fine and the document is also getting created .
The problem is I am getting error while opening the word document
Error - The file filename.docx cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents .
Details - No error details availble .

What are you doing within the txt document? Is it general text and string based items, or have you something more elaborate going on?

Sorry, should've mentioned some more information. I synced the ipad to the folder of photos. The original photos had file names like "_MG_4865.jpg" and after syncing the folder in Itunes, all files were now found in a folder called "iPod Photo Cache" which was filled with many folders with labels like "F23" etc. (There were ALOT of photos.) In those folders there are several files with names like "T343.ithmb". Not a .jpg to be found and I can't view any of the photos.

There are several XML editors available at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

Issues opening xml files in CS6

I'm having a problem opening xml files in CS6. Currently, I'm able to load Dreamweaver CS6, but when I open a file labeled as .xml, the application freezes up. I have already set up my preferences to read .xml files. (some background info: I do have a previous version of 5.5 installed on the same machine. I could guess that the problem could be associated with having an earlier version of dreamweaver installed at the same time, but why would it only affect xml files?)

Have you tried opening the .xml file in NotePad or some other simple text editor? just to verify that the file is good and not corrupted.

Open XML file with user default browser and not the default editor.

Hi,
I'm writing a java program that appends numerous XML files together. The result is a NEW well formed XML document. Since i have an XSLT that performs several UI modifications on this xml file, the file extension must remain '.xml'. I need to open this xml file with the users default web browser. The problem is that:
Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
....opens the xml file with the users default program for opening xml files which in my case is Oxygen. I want to force java to open this xml file with the users default web browser and nothing else.
I guess i need the Windows command to perform the 'open with' feature but i have no idea what that command is or how to find it.
Any ideas?

There is an 'alternative'. You can import it into a 1.5 project. It was available as a free standing API before 1.6 - through JDIC. See [https://jdic.dev.java.net/documentation/Examples.html|https://jdic.dev.java.net/documentation/Examples.html] for more info.

That choice is not made by Adobe, but your browser, of which you give no details. 64-bit browsers cannot open PDF files, as the Adobe Reader plugin is a 32-bit app.

Dear all,
i am test the report to show "No Data Found" world, but, when i preview to PDF, i got the message :An error occurred while opening the file, you can not open this file because it does not page.
i try to load the other xml file that have data, and report work,no error.
i don't know where is the problem, so i need some help....

You mentioned you tried some steps but I'm not sure what they are, you may try my suggestion to resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Click Start, right-click Computer, click
Properties, and then click Advanced system settings.
On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
Locate and select the __COMPAT_LAYER variable, and then click Edit.
Set the value of the __COMPAT_LAYER variable to EnableThemes. Or, delete the __COMPAT_LAYER variable.
If the issue persists, we can troubleshoot this problem in Clean Boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with PowerPoint:

Firefox will not open .aspx files. I can open them with IE. What's up?

I updated Java, uninstalled and then re-installed Firefox. It will not open .aspx files. Internet explorer opens them just fine. .pdf files open fine also. Don't know?

How would I change the aspx to pdf? As far as going to the menu/applications, I don't see an aspx in the list? Sorry, but I'm pretty rank in this department. Maybe it is the website and not Firefox, although as stated, IE opens them fine.
