Opend source DRMS

Hi Guys
I am woriking on a project for that i require to manage the web users acount and theire resources, rights etc. the resources are mainly mp3,mp43 empeg4 vedio files, so i need to manage these user resources by encripting the files and associating rights and permision, restrictions to these vedio files, as i dont have much time to build these things from scratch, so i planned to go for some open source DRM(Digital Rights Managment) Servers, so guys if any one have used such DRM or know about avaliabilty on net of such DRMs please send the link, my id is [email protected], any help is appreciated.
thanks in advance

Have you used pacman yet?  Ever?
Do read about the different types of dependencies mentioned in the previous post - but more globally, read about pacman: it handles dependency resolution just fine.  If you try to install a package that depends on other packages, pacman will install the dependencies as well.

  • HT3819 video stream from amazon prime to my TV

i want to video stream from amazon prime to my TV  via my ipad, mac book using my apple TV device..

there is no reason to get rid of Apple devices, not when a Chromecast, Roku, or FireTV can be acquired so cheaply.
This is a true statement, but this is a bad option in the long term since your content will be split between different sources, DRM rules, apps, access options, etc.  You are going to constantly be running into issues were you want to watch a show that is not available on the device (phone, tablet, etc) you are on.  I share "Disgusted_with_apple" frustrations in that Apple has not updated in three years now leaving Amazon FireTV and others with better interfaces and features but having my content locked into Apple's DRM.
Apple was really first to market with a viable TV interface device, and has completely turned the market over to its competitors just by not showing up.  And now ATV can not play content, or provide features that ALL of the competitors have.   I recently bought an Amazon FireTV and love it.  The only advantage Apple has left is the iTunes Store still has more content, but that is not likely to last.

  • DRM External Connections: Relational Table source

    Hi All,
I wanted to know from which version of DRM did the option of importing from a DB source some up.
I see the mention of External connections in the 11.1.2.1 New features.
    Has it started from v11.1.2.1?
    THanks,
    ANindyo

Yes Anindyo. It started from 11.1.2. Earlier it is only a flat file import

  • DRM Problem - Movies in an Aliased Source Folder

I recently replaced my startup disk with an SSD and moved my movies over to a storage disk. Then, after a long hassle in which I was forced to learn about ACL's, I managed to remove my old ~/Movies/ folder and replace it with an alias to the new location.
Now, I am able to see my movies in my iTunes library, but when I try to play them, I am prompted for DRM authentication. When I type in my CORRECT password, it fails with the error message depicted in this screenshot. (When I type in the wrong password, it fails to authenticate).
It is simply not an option to move my movies onto the SSD. What's the point of having aliases if programs are hard-coded to look for stuff at a particular path instead of using a proper library call to resolve the path?

Anyone have an idea for a workaround?
    PS
This DRM hassle is another reason why I hate DRM and avoid the Store.

Since your stand-alone application does not run within the container, you need to initialize the InitialContext with the environment properties. You can use the constructor by passing a Hashtable with the necessary envionment properties.
    Here's an example:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/howtos/how-to-jndi-intro/doc/how-to-jndi-intro.html#step2

  • Getting "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." when attempting to open DRM URL

We are getting the above error in DRM
After looking at the event viewer, we see the following error:
    Source: IIS-W3SVC-WP
The worker process for application pool 'drm_pool' encountered an error 'Failed to open schema file 'C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\config\schema\ASPNET_schema.xml'
' trying to read configuration data from file 'C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\config\schema\ASPNET_schema.xml', line number '0'. The data field contains the error code.
We also noticed that there were several conhost.exe processes running taking up 100% CPU power. That has since subsided but we are still having issues accessing DRM.
We have attempted to restarted IIS hoping it would fix the issue but have failed. In IIS Admin, we noticed that the drm_pool is stopped. If we attempt to start it, we get the error above.
Any help finding the cause and fix would be appreciated.

Thanks for the response. For some reason I did not get an email from the forum about the response, so I thought no one responded. I accidentally checked today.
As I mentioned in my update on 22nd September, I changed the identity to run on "LocalSystem" account eventhough I created the site and the database using my windows account. Not I am able to access the MDS home page. But the users I added (all Windows domain
users) are not able to access the site. They are getting "Access Denied". I added them to the default administrators group and MDS_Service group in the server, but still they are not able to access.
When I look at their "Membership" it shows they are part of the administrator group. But there are no "Functions" assigned to them. I am not able to assign them any function from "Available" list. Its all greyed out. Even though I am an adiministrator and
I was able to add them as users, I am not able to assign them permissions?
Do you have any solution for this?
P.S. The current MDS Application is running under the default web site.
    Thanks

  • [Solved] Slow graphics with RS780M and open source ati driver

EDIT: Well this is embarrasing. Guess this is why there's a new comers forum. I assumed since I installed a couple days ago my system was up to date. However, running pacman -Syu updated my kernal and it works fine now. SOLVED (I'm an idiot)
Hello Arch community. I've been using Ubuntu for a couple years so know that my hardware can work well enough with linux. Almost everything works great with arch with little setup, but I'm stumped as to how to setup the graphics card.
I'm attempting to use the open source drivers, either xf86-video-ati or xf86-video-radeonhd (I don't care which I use in the end). I have both installed so I can try out both, assuming that doesn't cause problems. I've never tried using the catalyst driver in arch, so I know I don't have remenents of that causing problems. Right I have gnome working, but when dragging a window, resizing a window, scrolling, or watching a video I can see the screen slowly refresh. It is definetly not right.
Here's the information that might help:
    [jake@myhost ~]$ lspci | grep Radeon

I've tried various configurations. Right now I'm running without an xorg.conf. This is /var/log/Xorg.0.log from the setup without an xorg.conf

  • Where has Mozilla's open browser gone? Why is there going to be DRM in my Firefox?!

What happened?! Why is this happening!?
Can This Web Be Saved? Mozilla Accepts DRM, and We All Lose
It's official: the last holdout for the open web has fallen. Flanked on all sides by Google, Microsoft, Opera and (it appears) Safari's support and promotion of the EME DRM-in-HTML standard, Mozilla is giving in to pressure from Hollywood, Netflix et al, and will be implementing its own third-party version of DRM. It will be rolled out in Desktop Firefox later this year. Mozilla's CTO, Andreas Gal, says that Mozilla "has little choice." Mozilla's Chair, Mitchell Baker adds, "Mozilla cannot change the industry on DRM at this point."
At EFF, we disagree. We've had over a decade of watching this ratchet at work, and we know where it can lead. Technologists implement DRM with great reticence, because they can see it's not a meaningful solution to anything but rather a font of endless problems. It doesn't prevent infringement, which continues regardless. Instead, it reduces the security of our devices, reduces user trust, makes finding and reporting of bugs legally risky, eliminates fair use rights, undermines competition, promotes secrecy, and circumvents open standards.
It's clear from the tone of Gal and Baker's comments, and our own discussions with Mozilla, that you'll find no technologist there who is happy with this step. The fact that Mozilla, in opposition to its mission, had to prepare and design this feature in secret without being able to consult the developers and users who make up its community is an indication of how much of a contradiction DRM is in a pro-user open-source browser.
Unchecked, that contradiction is only going to grow. Mozilla's DRM code, imported from Adobe as a closed-source binary, will sit in a cordoned sandbox, simultaneously Mozilla's responsibility but beyond its control. Mozilla will be responsible for updates to the DRM blackbox, which means users will have to navigate browser updates that will either fix security bugs or strip features from their video watching. Mozillians have already been warned of the danger of talking too much about how DRM works (and doesn't work), lest they trigger the provisions in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that forbid "trafficking" in circumvention knowledge.
Baker may think that Mozilla cannot change the industry on its own (despite it having done so many years ago). Sadly, it changes the industry by accepting DRM. It is these repeated compromises to the needs of DRM advocates by tech company after tech company that are changing the nature of personal computing, transforming it into a sector that is dominated by established interests and produces locked-down devices, monitored and managed by everyone but their users.
Past experience has shown that standing up to DRM and calling it out does have an effect. As we have said to the W3C, and Cory Doctorow spells out to Mozilla in this Guardian article, we can do much more to fight the negative consequences of DRM than simply attempt to mitigate the damage of its adoption.
We need to work to end the reinforcement of DRM and criminalization of fair use in the DMCA and similar legislation being spread throughout the world. We need to speak out about the failings of DRM, even if we fear that DRM proponents will just make it worse (in the name of "improvement") or take civil or criminal actions under the DMCA. We need to challenge the baseless assertion that users don't mind DRM as long as they can watch House of Cards and demand actual evidence to justify the damage it causes. And, given the amount of compromise we have already suffered, we need to spell out the principles that we won't compromise on.
Mozilla and the W3C are both organizations with missions intended to defend and promote the open web. Both have now committed to a system of content control that is seen as a violation of those principles by many Internet users. We, and they, can change that story. We need to redirect the ingenuity being wasted on attempts to limit the damage of introducing DRM into the heart of the Web toward a positive campaign against further incursions.

Sorry, as important as this issue is to all of us who use Firefox, this is a Firefox support forum - not an appropriate place to start a discussion like this.
I'm locking this thread for two other reasons though. <br />

  • Selecting "choose paper source by pdf page size" causes page to print as mirror image thumbnail

Printing from acrobat reader 9.3.4 to a bizhub C220 printer/copier using the postscript driver in XP sp3. when you select "choose paper source by pdf page size" the document prints mirror image as a tiny thumbnail in the corner of the page? We have replicated the problem with different computers and other copier/printers. This does not occur when using the PCL driver. Any ideas?

Do you not get any options after you have selected print
then select Print using System dialogue
which then opend another box , where I select Layout
and can select how I want the document printed.
As you can see I do use an Epson Printer though, but this is the way when using Mac OSX

  • On the IPad, can I copy text from an online source then paste to Pages?

Many times from ebooks as part of my own personal research,
I like to copy text from various sources
then later review the text of the copied information to render my own conclusions.
How do I copy from online sources and books and then paste into Pages?

Only if the iBook is NOT DRM protected, whch means no for the majority of titles in iTunes. You can Copt from your own PDFs or from something like the iOS User Guide, some free titles, but not from most things.
You will find that to be the case with most other book apps as well.

Please do a fetch from the database and then change the information in DRM console for the CSS parameter. This error I received only due to the CSS details in DRM 11.1.2.

Check the record in table System_Preference for the AuthMethod. If you have External or Mixed then you must set up the Hyperion Common Security Services in the console or you will get this error.

so, I just tar.gz the kernel26-livez folder which contains
    config
    config.x86_64
    kernel26.install
    kernel26.preset
    PKGBUILD
    and submit to AUR??
first, I'm going to run it thru the motions on my 32bit and x86_64 arch installs to test it
as I already have compiled it successfully, and now want to package it,etc
    thanks for all your help!
    PS
I also have to make a AUR package for the linux-live-6.30_x86 and linux-live-6.3.0x86_64 remaster kits which this kernel is meant for
and gotta figure out how to do that too...

  • [SOLVED] [makepkg] attempts to process source files multiple times

OK, so I decided I was going to update the PKGBUILD for linux-lts-tresor to the new format with separate sources for different architectures and PGP keys, having successfully done it for the nvidia packages I maintain and I get the following issue when I run mkaurball on the linux-lts-tresor PKGBUILD:
    claire ~/Builds/linux-lts-tresor % mkaurball

OK, so either I'm committing a huge stupid with both TRESOR packages or there is actually a problem with makepkg. I've done similar changes with the linux-tresor PKGBUILD and it's doing the same thing.
