I'm trying to debug why this process has started, no problems with softwares / installs. Everything works fine.
But I think my computer got hacked some time ago. After that I installed e.g. Little Snitch Network monitor (still using demo version) and Avira virus scanner.
No log / other unusual behavior after that.
Any suggestions where to look / where to dig?

These are DSP level messages used by the developers, there is no publicly available decodes for these. Please be aware most of the voice/fax debug syntax will change starting 12.3(8)T
which includes this debug command as well.

  • T.37 onramp fax sometimes sends empty attachment

We have T.37 onramp fax set up with incoming calls arriving on a T1 line into a Cisco 2811, and SMTP emails with fax attachments going out to our custom mailserver.  We have many of these systems in the field.  Most of the time onramp faxes work fine, but we sometimes see the 2811 sending an empty attachment to the mailserver.  We have captured the incoming audio and decoded the fax using the Asterisk PBX utilities, with no errors at all.
What could cause a 2811 to send an empty fax attachment even though the incoming fax is good?
Here is the SMTP conversation (with names and numbers changed) -- red from the 2811, blue from the mailserver:

Note that our custom mailserver rejects these empty fax attachments because we want the sending fax machine to see a failure in this case.  (If the mailserver were to accept the empty attachment, then the sender would see success but the receiver would receive no fax.)
The 2811 is running IOS 12.4(25d) and non-default DSP software 26.4.501 (updated to fix a problem with the DIS tones).  But we've been seeing this problem since 12.4(6)T7 with no DSP firmware patch.
We've enabled all the relevant fax debug logs we can find, and here's the debug output for a 'zero-page fax' call from the point where the T1 connection is established, down to the point where the empty attachment is sent and the mailserver rejects it (names and numbers changed as before):

Still not solved.  Cisco support suggested adding the config command 'mta send success-fax-only' which is supposed to prevent sending empty emails or partial faxes, however there's a bug that means that has no effect IOS 12.4.  We're looking at upgrading to 15.1(4)M8 which has the fix, but that will take some time.
Your problem sounds slightly different.  See if you can get a network capture of the SMTP conversation with the target mailserver, to see if something's going wrong there.

Any suggestions where to look / where to dig?
Yes. Get rid of the worthless "Avira" product and the dubious "Little Snitch" product. Stop worrying about the log. Log messages are only meaningful in relation to a problem, which you say you don't have.

  • Debug on Voice GW for a Fax Call

    Hi Everyone,
I have a problem very strange,
    My configuration,
Site A = GW 3845 (MGCP with CUCM) with PRI (E1) / ATA SIP Linksys with a fax behind,
Site B = GW 3845 (MGCP with CUCM) with BRI (T0) / FXS with a fax
On a fax call, site A => site B, the fax don't arrived on site B.
When a do a test Site X with an other E1 send a fax to site B, the fax arrived correctly.
A use several debugs on site B because site A receives too much call to use a debug command on it.
On a debug with fax KO, one of the differences with the fax calls which work is this,
    Feb 10 14:10:12.311: htsp_process_event: [1/0/1, FXSLS_CONNECT, E_DSP_SIG_0100]fxsls_offhook_onhook, HF duration Max=1000, HF duration Min=150
    Feb 10 14:10:12.311: htsp_timer - 1000 msec
    Feb 10 14:10:13.311: htsp_process_event: [1/0/1, FXSLS_CONNECT, E_HTSP_EVENT_TIMER]fxsls_connect_wait_release_req
    Feb 10 14:10:13.311: htsp_timer_stop
    Somebody knows this command ?
it's a timer on the FXS because what ??

To be more clear, it's a new debug with 3 debug commands,
    debug vpm signal
    debug voice ccapi inout
    debug fax relay t30 all-level-1

  • Fax fails over T1

I have a client who is hubbed in city A and I am provideing them dial-tone in city B via a T1 with HDLC encap.
If I push their voice/fax out over the T1 to city B voice works just fine, but fax fails 80-90% of the time? I have re-directed their fax out city A PSTN and the fax works almost 100% of the time.
Here is a debug i have from the router the fax is hooked up to.

What gateway protocol are you using (MGCP, H.323, SIP)? What codec are you using over the WAN (g.729, g.711, etc)? Fax transmissions do not work well with compression. Depending on your infrastructure and preferences, you have several options. Take a look at the following link. Specifically, see the sections on fax relay and fax pass-through. Another option is to set the region for your fax devices to a region that uses g.711 (no compression).

  • Output fax not getting triggered when sales order credit block is released

    Hi Experts,
I am working on an issue.
I have one sales Order which has credit block.
when we release the credit block via vkm3, then the output fax gets triggered.
I have another sales order which has credit block,
when we release the credit blcok via vkm3 , the output fax is NOT getting triggered.
If any of you has worked on this setting, request your input on where to find the settings/coding for the same.
    Any advice on this please.

    Hi Brad,
    Thanks for your response.
Order 1: Issues output fax(ZFAX) correctly when block is released.(i see output zfax in te output screen)
Order 2: Fails to issue output fax(ZFAX) even when the block is released.( i dont see any output in the output screen)
I went to Go to -Determine analysis for both orders 1 and order 2.
in both the analysis i am able to see the output ZFAX.
    *Analysis Output*
    *Order 1                                                                    Order 2*
    1. ZFAX                                                                   1.   ZFAX
        10(Z010)                                                                 10(Z010)
           0000122426                                                              0000122427
    2.  ZFAX                                                                   2.   ZFAX
When i click, D.Click on the output type ZFAX on both the order Analysis output screen, i see similarities.
There in just 2 differences as below.
    In the above screen,
    1.Order 1 ==> has some value 0000122426
2.For Order 1==> row marked 2.(in the above screen) if i D.Click on ZFAX it says
    Diagnosis
Output ZFAX has already been issued. Multiple issue for this output type is forbidden in Customizing.
    In the above screen
    1.Order 2 ==> has some value 0000122427
2.For Order 2==> row marked 2.(in the above screen) if i D.Click on ZFAX it says
    No more information is available.
Please guide as to how to initiate the debug for output processing ?
Which screen where to switch on debugger.
    where to look further?
    Regards,
    SuryaD.

  • Fax is not working on H323

    Hello All,
I have an issue with fax, it is connected to an fxs port on my h323 gateway. When a call comes from PRI and get connected to fax after I hear the fax tone the fax drops. IOS is Version 15.0(1)M4, and DSP is PVDM3.
    My analysis:
The external calls hit gateway and it matches the pots dialpeer where my fax connected to. From the "debug voip vtsp all", I see Primary Fax Protocol=CISCO_FAX_RELAY, which is not enabled and we are using T38 relay and modem passthrough method for faxing. I believe PVDM3 does not work with Cisco Relay and couldn't allocate any dsp resources for the call and it drops. But still I wonder how gateway takes cisco relay.
    Config:

Can some one kindly suggest how to make it work on H323, also how we can force disabling cisco fax relay?

As I mentioned earlier, we are using MGCP for that particular fax port and the gateway we use as H323.
Even I'm not pretty sure about using mixed protocol, I believe this gateway gonna used to support call center calls. SInce MGCP is easy for configs they might have confiugred only the port as MGCP endpoint.
Now its not working with both the cases, not in mgcp as well as fallback mode. Can you reveiw the debugs and see why I have to remove "modem passthrough" command from voice service voip section which of our standard config and works well with all other gateway of ours. Please help here.

Please help me to solve the issue. Except this other functions are working properly. Moreover I can send internal Fax from one user to other.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Faxing of SAPScript throwing exception

    Dear All,
I am facing problem while sending Sales Order output through FAX. It is throwing exception in OPEN_FORM function module as FAX_NOT_VALID. I debugged and found that actually system is failing FM SX_NUMBER_TO_DEVTYPE which in turn showing that the exception has occured due to Node not found. Is it a configuaration issue? I tried to configure through SPRO but could not find any relevent place. Looking for your valuable suggestion.
    Any suggestion!
    Thanks and regards,
    Atanu

Make sure are you entering the correct fax number in the recepient.
Go to transaction SBWP - > create new message and try to send it as FAX. It you are not able to send fax via Business workplace then it implies that some setting is required form the BASIS.
Otherwise the parameters passed to the OPEN_FORM needs to be investigated.

  • How to Print File as the same as picture/fax viewer ?

    Hallo :
I wrote a program which can let the specified png file to be printed. (png file is about 17xx * 11xx, output to A4 paper)
The goal is the print result as the same as the windows built-in picture/fax viewer (by Full Page Fax Print Mode)
And I don't want the printer dialog to be appeared. So I tried to use java print service to achieve this goal.
Now I can print the file by printer.
But comparing to the result which is printed by the windows built-in picture fax viewer(use Full Page Fax Print Mode), my result looks like zoom in, not full page.
I tried some classes of javax.print.attribute.standard package, but no one worked.
So I tried to transform the image by myself. And I found a resource : [http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/2D/reference/faqs/index.html#Q_How_do_I_scale_an_image_to_fit]
It looks like what I wanted. But when I implemented the functionality according to that reference. The result is still the same, still zoom in...
I must said I am unfamiliar with java 2D. But this is a problem I must solve.
If the problem can be solved by only setting some classes of javax.print.attribute.standard, it's better.
But if can't be solved by that way, the transformation method is ok, too.
So does anyone can help me to solve this problem or pointed where I was wrong ? Thank you very much.

    Thanks for the reply.
Now my algorithm which I used is when the height of image is smaller than the height of A4 paper and the width of image
is larger than the width of A4 paper, I will rotate 90 degree of the image first, then I will scale the image.
Then I can get the approaching result when the width and height of the image are larger than the width and height of A4 paper.
But there was an additional error. That is when the width of image is larger than the width of A4 paper and
the height of image is smaller than the height of A4 paper. (like 17xx * 2xx).
Although the print result template is approaching the picture/fax viewer. But the print quality is so bad.
The texts are discontinue. I can see the white blank within the text. (the white line are the zone which printer doesn't print)
First I thought this problem might be DPI issue. But I don't know how to keep the DPI when rotating ?
(I dumped the rotate image, it rotates, but didn't keep the DPI value)
Does anyone know how to solve this strange problem ? Thanks a lot.

    Hi @cam100,
I am wondering if a reset might help.
I will send you a PM (Private Message), but before I do, feel free to review the HP Privacy Statement.
This Privacy Statement informs you of our privacy practices and of the choices you can make about the way information about you and your online activity is collected and how that information is used. This statement is readily available on our HP.com home page and at the bottom of every HP web page.
There are an increasing number of posts in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a resets on different printers.  The reset itself will sometimes fix problems, so the reset is not the issue.
Some resets require you to enter button combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were never meant to access.  These special menus are used by the developers and support personnel for debugging issues, but they are not meant for untrained users and can have unintended results.  One wrong button push and you no could no longer have a printer, but instead a pricey paper weight.  To top it off, if you do happen to "brick" the printer this way, it is considered customer induced damage, and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only meant to be given out and used as a last resort, and under direct instruction of a HP tech support representative. They should not be done lightly!

  • Can't Send FAX / FAX not working

    Dear Techies,
I am facing a horrible problem in sending FAX. In our company, our directors are using MAC Book Air & Mac Book. I have a MAC Book too (i am a newbie to MAC), which they had given me for testing purpose, so that i should clear all their problems in MAC. so its actually a tough thing...
Now, they are not able to send FAX from these machines. They asked me to provide them the solution, and i tried in and out in my MAC Book, But no way... I googled a lot, i found many of the discussions based on this issue, but i didnt saw any working solution for it. Now its the 3rd day for me to sit with this issue. Hope someone will be here to help me. Let me give you the details...
Hardware: MAC book and Mac Book Air
OS: MAC OS X Version 10.4.10
CPU: 2.16 Ghz Intel Core Duo
    Mem: 2 GB 667Mhz DDR2
    MODEM: External Apple USB modem
    Scenario 1:
I tried sending the fax from safari (File--> Print--> Fax PDF), then specified our internal FAX number, also Dialing prefix as 9(bcoz i am behind a EPABX, so 9 to get dial tone)
To: 63452743 (Fax number, not original)
    Dialing Prefix: 9
    Dialing: Tone (selected)
    Sound: on (selected)
Wait for dial tone before dialing: selected
    then i clicked "FAX"
    but the result was; FAILURE...
    Result 1:
    It will dial, and stands like connected, while showing a progress bar "Faxing" in the external modem window. after around 3 minutes, it stops... and shows the following message in the external modem window;
    "hold until 05:01 p.m."
again it will try at that specified time, and the result is same.
    Scenario2:
    I tried with fax command;
    fax send 9-66728437 test-file.001
    and i tried
    fax send 966728437 test-file.001
    Result2:
    It will also do the same like above and finally gives up, and then it will write a log as the following;
    command;
    abcs-computer:~ kmr$ sudo fax send 9-66766766 test-file.001

NOTE: I had changed the original FAX number from this post to different numbers...
    Thats all...
    Thanks in Advance...
and really awaiting for your valuable comments.

First of all, really thanking you 3 for your posts. i dont need to do a internet faxing. The safari, which i mentioned, in the scenario is an example. My director might need to send FAX from doc files, html files, mails, pdf files etc.
So i need a solution to do the FAX through FAX pdf, which is available through printing.
Then regarding the analog vs digital PBX, here we use analog and digital PBX. But i am trying through the analog line. Still, today i went to the telephone people and asked to give me an direct line to check this out. Then i tried from it.
Fax command and faxing through graphical (fax pdf) gives the same error. But efax command showed a different kind of error message which i will post it here... So i think i will have to work on it... so i requested the telecommunication people to give me an direct line to my table for 2-3 days, so that i could run many test on it... but still i am waiting for their confirmation.
Anyway pls have a look at this message, and put forward ur suggestions.
NOTE: i forgot to notify in the previous post that, the main error point in the log files is "NO CARRIER"

  • T.37 offramp fax not working

    Hi,
I have implemented onramp and offramp for my customer. Onramp fax is working fine but the offramp fax is not working. When we test with facsBridge T37 we do not see fax coming on CME router.
    Router configuration is
    Model: 2911
    IOS: 15.4(2)T
I have enabled the mta and foip debugs but no logs are generated. But when I run the wireshark debugs on laptop on which facsBridge application is running, I see acknowledgement from router. But Microsoft fax application which uses facsBridge as modem do the retransmission 2-3 times and then give fatal error.
I am not sure if issue is with config or i am hitting bug. Please guide me how to resolve this issue.

one update...on wireshark i am seeing RST, ACK from router which means it is reseting the session...but could not find reason for that. i tired with app_faxmail_offramp.2.0.1.1.tcl and app_faxmail_offramp.2.0.0.0.tcl script, but results are same.
    Below is config of cme.
    fax receive called-subscriber $d$
    fax send transmitting-subscriber $s$
    fax interface-type fax-mail
mta send subject Fax from On-Ramp GW
    mta send with-subject $s$

    mta send mail-from hostname xxxxsolutions.com
    mta send mail-from username info

    mta receive aliases smtp.gmail.com

  • [Urgent] Please help me verify the debug output on E&M interface.

    Hello,
I've got a problem when trying to make a call from the E&M interface on the router to PABX(Panasonic). I've got any dail-tone back. Please help me verify the logging output. It seemed to already send the digits.
