Opened CD Program - 3/4 of screen is black

I installed my CD according to the instructions and once I run the program, this is what comes up:
Anyone know why the content is only taking 1/4 of the screen, while the other 3/4 is black? The buttons and scroll don't align as well - if I try to click on any of the buttons within the 1/4 content area, it won't allow me to. The ability for me to click any of those buttons or use the scrolling is in the blackened area. I've already tried going into Windoes > Zoom, however, the Zoom option is not available. Any help would be appreciated.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting

I have a phone 3g and everytime I go to open facebook or bejewelled blitz it will not load. It crashes and then the screen goes black for a few seconds before going back to the home screen. I have uninstalled this app and reinstalled it on a few occassions but now it will not even go the facebook homepage. It sometimes also happens with other app.

I can't get my facetime to open and when it does the screen is black?

When I click on my facetime icon no screen comes up but the green camera light turns on. I can also hear when someone is calling but have no way to answer. When I try to do anything I just get a black screen and I haven't been able to open preferences. I also haven't been having any luck with skype either which makes me think it is my camera. I was having this problem before but restarting my computer had solved it up until now. Any suggestions?

I have been unable to open pdfs, screen is black

Try downloading any free app (you can delete it later). This will re-authorize the iTunes account on your phone and will often fix this issue.

Computer boots but screen in black 17" Mac Book Pro

When I start up my Mac Book Pro 17" I hear the sound of start-up but don't see anything at all. I hear the Skype program start but the screen remains black. If I try to access the laptop from the main computer wirelessly, I can see the desktop of the laptop but can't open any files - just can see folders. Have tried to send an email with an attachment, but the attached file appear momentarily in the email message and then disappears. Suggestions?

If you have a late 2007 or early 2008 pre-unibody mac, you may have this problem:

If you think this could be the problem, the Apple Store has a special test they can run to confirm it. If this is the problem, the repair will be done at no cost to you.

After recent upadte to firefox 9.0 beta 5 the screen becomes black for most part. Its like the pages and everything is working perfectly but it becomes black and flickers a lot.

I m using win 7 home premium 64 bit edition. Yesterday night i updated the firefox to the latest 8.0.1 version and as soon as I open the window parts of the screen becomes black and starts flickering a lot. Can use everything on my laptop except browsers.Cant use it anyhow and also my internet explorer stops working when i try to download anything.

No image - screen is black

I just installed iLife 08. I opened an existing project, and the screen is black. If I play the title, I get audio, but no file shows video. Any ideas what might be wrong?

I also just bought iLife today and installed it, and am having exactly the same problem. When I go into the map, I see all my stuff there, but there is no picture or buttons on the main menu - only sound.
If I replace the background movie with another movie, I still get the same thing. Sound with no picture.

Well, you can't perform a reset then. What happens when you plug the phone into a power source? If nothing, then you'll have to make an appointment at any Apple store. The genius bar will offer you an out of warranty replacement. Cost is US $269.

MacBook pro screen is black but computer still on...

I was using my computer one minute, then closed it and stuck it in my bookbag and then headed down a flight of stairs. When I got down there I eventually tried to open up my laptop, and the screen was black but I could hear the computer. When I got home I held down the power button to turn it off, then powered it back on. Same issue. I hear the clicking sound i always hear when I turn the computer on, but no Mac starting chime, although I don't think I've heard that in years. The power button light that goes around the power button is not on, but again I don't think that's ever on. My charger is plugged in (it's orange).
I have tried taking the battery out with the computer off and popping it back in. I tried with the computer on and popping it back in. Same issue. The other thing I noticed is it doesn't seem to be going into sleep mode when I close the screen (that front white light using flashes off and on again when it sleeps I think?).
Im going to try to take it to an apple tech person, but I am studying abroad in new Zealand so there's much less infrastructure here. Can't find an official apple store. But i did want to try some things tonight possibly to maybe fix it.
I'm thinking this might be an nvidia graphics card issue.

Dear Jean:
It sounds like you are trying to get your external monitor to act as the primary viewing screen. For example it would have your Doc, Icons, Etc. In order to make the external monitor the primary screen you have to:
Open System Preferences.
Choose the Displays Icon
There will be several tabs to choose from pick Arrangement
Drag the toolbar to desired display

I can't open any programs or files and if I click on the Safari tab it disappears from the dock. I've tried rebooting with no joy.
I contacted technical help at Apple and was told to hold down the ctrl and alt keys with two other keys, I think the S or P keys when powering up. This worked
and the computer seemed fine but now the problem has reappeared. Is there a way to removed downloaded updates from the computer or revert it to an earlier state?   Sorry for the long question. Hopefully one of you clever people can help.   Simon

Programs open up scattered all over the screen...can this be changed?

I am new to a MAC as I recently go a 27" iMac. I am loving it, but finding some of the functions sort of odd. I have searched and searched for an answer, but have gotten noplace. I thought I would sign up here it looks like a great resource. I was also hoping someone could answer this for me:
Do all mac programs open up scattered all over the screen? I was always used to a program opening and it was clear where the entire window was. On my mac, if I open, say Photoshop, the tools panel is along one side, then there is no canvas, but the layers panel, or others I have open will be somewhere on the right side. When multiple programs are open, it is really hard to tell which program I am currently in as it seems so messy. All the programs seem to open this way. Is this a feature that can be turned off, or is this simply the way it is?
I am not sure if I explained this very well, but somehow I would like to be able to clearly see which program I am in, rather than have bits and pieces of the program randomly placed on the screen with no definite boundaries to tell me where the program ends. Maybe it has something to do with having such a large screen?
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.
