Opened eMac, and now it won't turn on

Hi,
I opened my eMac for the first time to clean out the dust. I just took of the outer cover and the wire to the power button came off. I thought I reattached it correctly. But now the computer will not turn on.
If someone knows what is wrong please help.
Thank You

... Just jumping in here. Having taken the shell casing of my eMac several times, I can say the wire is indeed allowed to come of the switch. They only fit one way however and are very fiddly to remove and attach.
What might have happened is that when removing the shell with the wires unknowingly still attached you might have internally yanked one or both from their connector, ie broken the wire.
A simple zero resistance test from a suitably equipped multimeter will tell you if the wire is broken or not. You will need a fine probe point to stick into the end of the connector.
See if you can test the switch in a disconnected state, just in the shell alone, as well.
Another thought is whether you washed the casing in water. If so, a wet switch will not work.
