OpenGL driver for dc7800?

I have software that will not run, citing bad video drivers, saying it needs an "accelerated OpenGL mode." It has not run since I installed Win8 x64. Same software used to run on the same machine with WinXP x86 installed. I have searched for and tried all video drivers I can find from the HP support site for this machine with no success. (No drivers are listed for Win8, but I've tried all Win7 and Vista options.) I am using the onboard video, not a separate card.
Device manager reports my display adapter as:
Intel Q35 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corp - WDDM 1.0)
Currently installed driver version is: 8.15.10.2697
Is this a x64 issue? If necessary (though obviously not desirable), I can re-install Win8 as x86.
Thanks.

  • OpenGL driver for Toshiba Satellite C660-1J2 ?

Adobe After Effects always crash on startup.
It says it cannot initialize OpenGL and that I should contact the manufacturer of the Graphics adapter.
So I contact Intel because I got a Intel Hd Graphics adapter but they say the driver I already have is custom tuned for Toshiba. So I search on Toshiba but cannot really find any useful link.
Should I install OpenGL manually or can I disable it somehow without starting After Effect?
    How do I installOpenGl manually?
I have downloaded the latest Graphics adapter driver from you but it doesn't help.
All I want to do is to start a popular Adobe product so I believe many people have this problem.

    Hi
OpenGL is a standard API for writing software for 2D or 3D computer graphics.
OpenGL is an open source product but DirectX is released by Microsoft and mostly DirectX is part of the graphic card driver and not OpenGL.
However, you cannot download and install OpenGL to use it within the graphic card driver the OpenGL needs to be implemented in the driver
Mostly its done by graphic card manufacture.
Therefore you will need to check the Intel page to get an driver from Intel which supports OpenGL because the notebook supports the Intel (HM55) HD graphics.
This link detects which driver updates are relevant to your computer and then helps you install them quickly and easily.

  • Graphics drivers for DC7800

I have a new\second hand hard drive (320GB)   installed and I had to reformat the 74gb drive. In the instructions given to me when I first purchased the computer - after formatting the drive I was instructed to download a graphics driver for DC7800 and yet my computer has a Dc7900 - I am not sure which graphics driver to install and how to go about doing this.

Just download and use the Intel driver then. If I am understanding you, it seems the driver is already installed and you don't need to do anything more. What problem are you having?

  • Open gl driver for 8600m under Mac OSX

    Hey,
Does anyone know when Apple would update the opengl driver for 8600m in SR MBP?
Are the planning to update it for gaining performance?

    Mate, u gave a very interesting reply~
As I know, many laptop manufactures suffers updating driver with their products (or they stop updating driver after a year). As a result, consumers are forced to use official driver. However, ATI and nVidia also prevent end users to install their lastest driver on any laptop products. This is annoying us that have to search the "crack" inf on the Internet in order to install the latest driver.
Although Apple did not accurately announce the performance and functions of 8600m, usually, people estimate/expect these performance from reading review or benchmark from similar products. The performances of a piece of computer are depend on hardware itself as well as software. Driver is the main key to determine how would the hardware would perform. Unfortunately, todays they are selling their product by promoting the name of the hardware. Without much knowledge in computer, consumers do not know these performance software issues behind these hardware. Personally speaking, I suggests that this kind of inconsistency is a kind of misrepresentation in commercial activity. I wish that there is a kind of law would state that these computer products must provide or will provide a mature driver (which at least 80% of what the hardware claimed) within 3 months after the product release on the market.
    regards from a law student.
Anyway, please tell us what u get from calling apple.

    Thanks, Ramzi Rebeiz

For anyone picking up this thread (it's probably too late for rrebeiz40 by now!) I have come across a simple but apparently very effective tip that has solved the 'OpenGL driver lost connection' issue for many people using various NVIDIA with various Adobe progs (incidentally a lot of these seem to crop up on Dell machines, especially Notebooks).
(It fixed my issue with Premiere Pro CS4 - GeForce GT 555M on Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Dell XPSL702X).
It's posted on http://forum-archive.developer.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=5331&st=40 (look for the last post, No 50) as follows:
THIS FIX APPEARS TO WORK...found on an Adobe forum
"This issue led me to this fix: go to NVIDIA Control Panel --> Manage 3D Settings --> Global Settings, and switch "Power Management Mode" to "Prefer Maximum Performance" (the default "Adaptive" setting seemed to be the culprit). And that's it! The key here is changing the "Global" setting, as my individual programs were already set to "Prefer Maximum Performance." I can cause the error to reoccur by changing back to "Adaptive."
Otherwise lots more ideas on this site: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Fix...Nvlddmkm-Error/
My PC has been running for 2 days now. I only put the top fix in for now. Feel happier I have more options if need be though.

Determine your Mac's ability for 3D games
What my user tip will allow you to do is get the performance rating of your video graphics and then you can compare that rating with the one the developer provides as the minimal amount you need to run the game you want.
Some developers do not easily list the performance requirements because they sell so many titles to people who don't know any better. Your obviously not that type of person.
should i go this route of partitioning my hard drive?
To get the full hardware performance of the hardware to run Windows 3D games, you need to install Windows into Apple provided BootCamp. and boot up the computer directly into Windows.
However it's also possible to run some Windows games (2D and simple ones) in a virtual machine program in OS X, provide they use OpenGL drivers (not only DirectX)
You install BootCamp first, then use a commecial virtual machine software like VMFusion or Parallels Desktop to copy the BootCamped Windows to use it as a virtual machine in OS X.
You will then have two Windows on your Mac, one in BootCamp and the other in a file on OS X to run at the same time as your using OS X.
There is the free VirtualBox too, but it doesn't have the ability to copy the BootCamp partition, but it's free and updated longer without begging for more money all the time like the commercial versions do.
Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?
I would Like to get more information about the question should i partition my hard drive to be able to play pc games does this really work to be able to play those games
Yes, you will get better performance direct booting the Mac into Windows to play most 3D games.
This means you will have to find a copy of Windows 7 to purchase online, the 64bit retail disk of Win 7 Pro or better.
is their any thing i need to know about the techinal aspects of installing windows on my mac computer... is there anything that i need to watch out for so that this would work. I just want to make sure that it will work.
Basically BootCamp does all the work setting up the partition for Windows install, then it hands you off with a list of printed instructions to install Windows.
Mac's cannot format NTFS drives, so when you boot off the Windows disk, you first have to change the format of the Bootcamp parittion to NTFS (from FAT32/MSDOS that Apple formats it as)
When you finish with BootCamp, the machine reboots and your looking at a blining line on a black screen, reboot the computer holding the option key down, this enters Startup Manager and you can select OSX to  boot and get online for assistance.
However if you read the BootCamp material, it should explain everything, also there are video's on YouTube as well how to go about things.
There is Mac drivers that need to be installed into Windows, so that you can get online and other things in Windows.
I advise having another computer or Internet device so you can come here to ask in the BootCamp forum for assistance with your install as your computer will be out of operation while installing Windows.
If you don't think you can handle it, a local PC/Mac tech can do it for you.
you know on games that you buy they have system requirements what if it ask for a diffrent kind of Graphics gard, like radon or another Geforce type. should i pay attention to those diffrences. What is the rule of thumb on the details techinaly...

  • Updated Drivers / Proper OpenGL Support for T400/T500 Models with Switchable Graphics

    Dear Lenovo, Dear interested users,
when will an updated switchable graphics driver for Windows Vista (and also Win7, they are both quite outdated) finally be available? The drivers are completely outdated!
With the current driver for Windows Vista (Version 8.563.2.1-090401a-079160C) only a fraction of OpenGL extensions are supported:
The internal Intel GMA 4500MHD can only Handle OpenGL 1.1 (instead of OpenGL 2.1 it is certified for). Therefore most applications needing OpenGL won't run.
The dedicated ATI Radeon 3470 only supports OpenGL 2.1 (instead of OpenGL 3.1 it is certified for).
You can verify this behavior with the utility "OpenGL Extensions Viewer".
I hope Lenovo didn't close the chapter switchable graphics for T400/T500 systems. It would be a shame for a company claiming to be a leader in business computing to deliver such poor driver-support.
In hopeful expectance of updated drivers,
    Patrick

  • Faults in Leopard OpenGL Drivers for Intel GMA machines

According to the developers of Blender, the Leopard OpenGL Drivers for the Intel Integrated Graphics MacBook is the cause of a year & a half old bug, as well as one only a year old. The python-run program's interface is completely written in OpenGL (which allows it's wonderful cross-platform compatibility), so any bugs in the OpenGL driver can reek havoc on the program.
The first bug isn't much of a problem for me, since it involves a slowdown due to pixel double-buffering, which the next release of Blender will disable. However it should be noted that this bug is still there. It just won't affect blender anymore.
The second bug, however, is impressively destructive. At seemingly random moments, Blender's OpenGL-driven interface will become overloaded. As a result, random lines, shapes, and gradients will litter the screen. Afterwards, if you're lucky, blender will crash and Leopard can submit a bug report. And if you're not so lucky, the entire operating system will lock up, requiring an emergency restart of the machine.
    To express my problem visually:

    Hi StTheo;
Since this is a user to user forum and you are talking to other user like yourself who are not able to do anything about this problem, I suggest that you send it to Apple directly by reposting it here.

  • NVidia driver for my vid card.

I tried to install the newest nVidia driver.... the Forceware Driver 52.16.  I got it installed, and when I rebooted my comp, it got no further than the Windows start-up screen.  Thus causing me to revert to my default driver settings.  Supposedly this driver is supported by my card, a GeForce3 ti 200 64mg card.  What's the scoop?  Am I doing something wrong?.... Is there a different driver for this card?  Also... where or how do I get openGL 1.4?  Thanks a bunch!

Make sure you turn off Anti-virus software before installing new drivers. useing driver cleaner is helpfull in keeping windows from installing the drivers you just uninstalled (cab cleaner it takes some time to complete) and if you want to try a new driver that works well (this one I use)
    http://www.evga.com/support/downloads/default.asp
This 53.03 is the latest from eVGA and will work with any nVidia card
after the driver is installed there will be a folder in the program files named eVGADrv. this folder can be wiped after the next driver update.
OpenGL is part of the driver package no need for a seprate download

  • OpenGL driver update really needed.

I am a game developer and I am currently working on a game using Unreal Engine 3. The game is running perfectly @ 60+ fps with most of current post-processing turned on. On brand new spanking iMac 27" with 16GB 3.4GHz i7 AMD Radeon HD 6970M with 2G, the game is crawling at 30 fps.
I want to take some time to persuade Apple engineers to come up with better OpenGL drivers... or if Apple Engineers are too busy to do so, give the task to AMD or NVidia to write the drivers... It really is funny and sad to see Mountain Lion supporting 70% of OpenGL 3.2 but then OpenGL 3.2 was new thing to Lion if I recall... Not to mention that most GPU installed macs care cablable of running OpenGL 4.2.
There are a lot of work that needs attention from Apple when it comes to OpenGL and gaming on Mac. Apple needs to wake up and start supporting game developers and game lovers. If Apple put in half the effort that they put in to hardware to Opengl driver, everyone will be happy.
Most people may argue that Macs are not for gaming... but look at Steam, Aspyr, and other mac oriented games developed for Macs now... Apple needs to support!
Anyways, if you agree with this post, leave a reply and bother Apple about it...
    Thanks!

I am getting frustrated with this issue as well and it almost feels like Apple has given up on us hardcore Power Users who have been the biggest fans of Apple for decades.  Having used a Mac for over 2 decades, if no hint is even coming that Apple working on upgraded Graphic Support (as well as the Mac Pro Line) many of us are going to be unwillingly forced off to Windows or Linux.
So Apple... WHEN are you going to Address OpenGL 4.2 support?  At least give us a clue whether you are even working on it... this silent treatment like you are so famous for is making a few of us a little hot under the collar and we may, heaven forbid, one day file for a divorce from Mac OS X desktop systems, being forced to go elsewhere. (Same issue with Mac Pro - see Facebook).
Thanks for all the iPods, iPads and iPhones!  We love them... now get back to support the desktop!

  • How can I use one external hard drive for both Time Machine and iPhoto Library?

I have been using a 1 TG LaCie external hard drive for Time Machine backups.  My (older) Mac has 160 GB and is almost full.  I would like to move my iPhoto Library to the external hard drive, but I've heard Time Machine doesn't share one space well.  Should I
    1.  create another partition (but will this erase what I've already saved) with Disk Utility?  *I am running Snow Leopard*
    2.  create another volume to use for iPhoto, and if so, should the two volumes be of equal size?
    3.  leave it with one partition and move the iPhoto Library to the same partition with Time Machine back ups?
I know I don't need the entire 1 TG for back up of 160 GBs.  Please advise the best path to take.  Thank you!

You are getting incorrect information from your ASP. If you look at drive specifications the heat generated is no different for high vs low capacity drives.
I have upgraded the internal drive in my iMac 2007 with a 3TB Hitachi drive without any heat issues or other problems.
Larger hard drives have higher density platters so to access any given amount data the drives travel a shorter distance. Higher capacity drives should therefore run cooler than lower density drives because the drive spends less time spinning to access data.

I had to install Dell Wireless 1702 WiFi +
    Bluetooth Driver
The wireless adapter was defined by this driver, however, the Bluetooth still has an exclamation mark in front of it, and when the Dell WLAN and Bluetooth client installation finished, a pop up message said that Windows couldn't install the device
well, although there was a folder added in documents folder named 'Bluetooth Folder'
Yes, the Bluetooth was named with 'Generic Bluetooth adapter' before installing 'Driver above'. However, after installing the driver above, the Bluetooth adapter named with ' Dell wireless 1702 Bluetooth v3.0". But as you see it's
    still not working will.
The sceen shot shows the device manger before installing  Dell
Wireless 1702 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver
These screen shots shows the device manger after installing  Dell
Wireless 1702 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver
I've lit windows detect the operating program for this device on the internet, it said "Windows has detected that the operating  program of this device is up to date. As this screenshot shows.
What should I do because nothing lift to try? If you have a look at the ninth drivers in my previous message, you will see that no other drivers for Bluetooth lift.
Also, I have tried  to install Intel
    Centrino Wireless-N 1030 WiFi Driver
But I have been told that "the installation is blocked', This package of installation cannot be installed on your system' I don't know what this
means, is it because Dell Wireless 1702 WiFi +
    Bluetooth Driver is being installed
Could you please take some of your preciout time out to read carefully my points below to finish this problem?
    first:
Yes, if you had a look at my first post, you would have seen that I really have downloaded and installed the drivers suitable for bluetooth, which was only Dell
Wireless 1702 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver, which made the bluetooth recognized by Windows 7(64Bit). However, the bluetooth in the device manager still has an exclamation mark as it is shown in the device manager.
I don't have any other drviers which can do more than the what Dell
Wireless 1702 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver did because I have tried all the drivers listed under 'Network', exept the what are for Etherent.
Yes, when I have tried adding the bluetooth between two laptops(Mohammad and Nasreen).  the bluetooth was added for both laptops as you see in these screenshots below:
The Bluetooth devices of Nasreen's laptop whose bluetooth is having some problems in Device mangage.
The Bluetooth devices of Mohammad's laptop  whosse Bluetooh is defined well in device manager.
But there is still problem in the device managre as shown in the screenshot listed before.
Second: (Important) That when I want to send files or recieving between two bluetooth added in either laptop, I could send them. Also, when I open the Mohammad's bluetooth added in Nansreen's laptop( screenshot
below), I can show what is inside it.
However, when I open the the Nasreen's bluetooth addd in Mohammad's laptop, I noticed  no reponse at all because as you see that disconnected is written in fornt "Nasreen-Pc" as this screenshot:
Although sometimes Nasreen-Pc gets connected as screenshot below, but I am still not able to open the Bluetooth folder of Nasreen-pc from Mohammad-pc. When trying to do that, no response is there.
In other times, Nasreen-pc gets connected for a while, but it comes back disconnected.
Third:: I noticed that the name of Laptop whose Bluetooth was added listed in 'My computer' for the laptop whose Bluetooth is having some problems in the device manager.(First Screen shot below)  However,
the name of the laptop whose Bluetooth is having problems wasn't listed on other laptop's "my computer"(Second Screen shot below)
Finally: : when I clicked "right-click" on "Nasreen-PC" and then clicking on "detecting and troublshooting issues", I found that windows informed me that :
But which driver should I reinstall because I have already installed the Dell
Wireless 1702 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver almost twice?
A man should convert his anger and sadness into strength to continue living in this life.

Certain driver packages contain drivers from some of the essential services only and for additional services, separate drivers must be installed. Additionally, the service is installed only if a compatible device is installed (or paired).
Therefore, you are seeing the error.
If you are using the Bluetooth L2CAP Interface and Bluetooth Remote Control services and not able to install the services, you can try unpairing the device, restart the PC, pair the device and then check. If that too fails, you need to install a suitable
driver, sometimes even other OEM drivers solve the issue. You can Bing/Google about this. You can also contact Dell Support for more information.
    Balaji Kundalam
    Thanks a lot,
I really didn't understand what you mean with in your first part the service is installed only if a compatible device is installed (or paired).
    The Bluetooth is integrated with
the laptop, then  where other services will come from, all service are related to Bluetooth.
If there are some additional services not related to Bluetooth,
then how can I either let them functioning well or disable them in order to get rid of the yellow exclamation mark
on the name of my laptop in the Device and printers.
Also, I really have installed a
BCBT7(Broadcom Bluetooth) for HP which really defined the same Bluetooth issue,
Device manager after installing the entire setup of driver BCBT7(Broadcom Bluetooth) on HP laptop
but  when trying to install the same
BCBT7(Broadcom Bluetooth)  on Dell,  I faced the error below, although there is an icon for Bluetooth in
the system tray. Also, the Bluetooth is integrated as

  • Tiger OSX Driver for eMagic AMT-8 - AMT no longer seen in AudioMidi

Can anyone here tell me where to find the driver for the AMT-8? It seems "missing" from the Apple and Emagic websites. AudioMidi is still not seeing the interface although "About this Mac" sees it just fine.
Also, no driver for it in the Library like my other interfaces.
All previous links to the driver are no longer valid.
    Thanks!

That link to the Apple site I've looked at a hundred times. You know, if I look one more time MAYBE it will be there this time. The ONLY one I've seen on there that is close is the Unitor Command software, but that's not quite it. Is it hiding in one of the other 3 folders and I'm just too blind to see it?
If you can email it to me that would be great. Just use the: "[email protected]" address so that I can grab it on the road easier.
    Thanks Much!
