Opening a new form from a button places it behind the calling form.

From the sales order form clicking a schedule button opens up a new non modal window . On this window I need to add a new button to open a new form(SOO.fmb) .
I tried using the FND_FORM.EXECUTE function, the new form opens but it is positioned behind the sales order form. I tried using call_form , even this positions the new form behind the sales order form.
How do I open the new form as the active form ?

Please clarify what you are talking about. Is this an Oracle Applications (i.e. E-Business) form or is this a form/application you created? What product versions are you using? Do not provide product names like 10g, 11g, etc. Please provide product versions.
That said, if you are opening new form or browsers using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT, there is a known Sun bug which causes this problem when using the Sun JRE 1.6.0_xx. This issue can be worked around by disabling the JRE setting "Enable the next generation Java Plugin...". This setting is found on the Advanced tab of the JRE Control Panel under "Java Plugin". This bug is expected to be fixed in Sun 1.6.0_18. This version is not available to the public at this time.

Hello all,
From menu.fmb am trying to client on a button to open a new form test.fmb.
using open_form('test.fmb', activate, session).
When clicking the button, it opens new form test.fmb but is behind the calling form. I want the test.fmb to come in front and calling form should be behind.
I have many other forms working fine and only this one form is causing the problem.
have tried both call_form and open_form.
Any suggestions?

We have a requirement, wherein we have a OAF search page for PO lines with search criteria, Go button to search ,result region (table layout) and a submit button(Create new expedite).
1. Now user can select some lines from result region and click on Submit button.
2. On click of submit button we need to pop up a window or may be a dialog page asking that " Do you want open supplier web link portal or not?".
3. If user clicks yes(in Dialog page) then first fetch the URL from a look up maintained in Oracle EBS on the basis of supplier of the lines selected and then open that URL in a new window and side by side we need to open a dialog page in search page asking "whether user has updated the expedite info in supplier portal or not?". On basis of this we need to updated some count in custom tables.
So in step 3 i am facing problem, that how to open an URL in a new window through a submit button and side by side want to open a dialog page in the current window also.
Hope a quick response from you all.
Note:- To open a custom page we can have a link or button(button of type button and not submit button) on base page with destination url property as following javascript:

You just need to attach a submit action in button bean and not submit button bean, based on the output of confirm type of alert in javascript.
Here is code u need to put in destination url of the button:

Why don't you try creating a pop up iView on clicking the button on your table view.

Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem while calling a form from another form.Say for example i have 2 forms form A and B. Form A (Calling form) has two windows. A main window will navigate to another window when a button is pressed and i am calling form B from window2 with: Open_Form('called_form',ACTIVATE,NO_SESSION,the_list); but the form B i.e, called form is opening behind the window2 (between main window and window2).
Then i tried with Call_Form('asn_details',NO_HIDE,no_replace,NO_QUERY_ONLY ,the_list); but result is same.
Form a window properties is as follows:
Main window: Window style is Document, Modal is set to NO.
Window2: Window style is Document, Modal is set to YES (because user should not navigate between windows)
Called form window: Window style is Document, Modal is set to YES.
Oracle DB version: 10g, Developer suite: 10g, Windows OS (windows 7, 32 bit).

However 2 things make my hair rise
- I can't "open in new window" from a favorited location. only in the "content" panel... which is rather "weird"
- I have to "reveal in finder" to be able to zip/rar files.
Please fix this, I know i am not the only one who would love this.

To be honest, I never thought about that option, I always use the shortcut cmd + N for a new window and point to a folder in either folder panel or favorites panel. There is always something to learn

I think you are bound to do so always because Bridge is in fact a browser and in itself not capable of editing files. The export panel did some tasks with resizing but has been discontinued in CC.
Only if Adobe made an application to unzip or open other packages the possibility for using the tools menu and reach the start up script for such app would be the shortest road possible to my knowledge. But also AFAIK Adobe does not offer such application.
And using MacOsX 10.8.4 my downloaded zip files are unzipping themselves automatically...
Please fix this, I know i am not the only one who would love this.

How to open a new window from the login window?

can someone tell me how to open a new window from an existing window, here by window i mean frame. The case is i hv two java files - oracle.java and FDoptions.java. The first frame is in the Login.java. The oracle.java file has a button "Login", when it is clicked, i want to open the next frame which is in the file FDoptions.java. Can some one help me with this? Audio keeps playing when opening multiple new tabs from bookmarks folder

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has noticed this behaviour in Safari and if its intentional or perhaps a bug.
If I have a website open with some audio playing (like a youtube video etc...) and then open some new tabs from a bookmarks folder by choosing "Open in Tabs", the audio from the video in the previous tab will keep playing in the background. However, any tabs that were open before (including the one with the audio) seems to have been automatically closed when choosing the "Open in Tabs" option so there doesn't appear to be a way to stop the audio, other than closing Safari.

First, as others have already stated.....make sure the checkbox is deselected for "open folders in tabs instead of windows" in Finder Preferences.
If you're like me and don't like tabs very much, there is a way to make folders always open in windows with a simple click (I'm using Mavericks 10.9.5). Go to a root folder (for example, the Documents Folder), open it, and select View > Hide Toolbar, then all folders within that root folder will open in a new window.
As an alternative method, any folder can be opened in a new window by holding down either Command Key while clicking the folder. But sooner or later you will forget to hold down that key, and then clicking on a folder will open in a tab (which will automatically resize the window and cause much aggravation).
The Hide Toolbar trick will also work with any folder present on the Desktop. It will make all folders inside that folder open in new windows.
To make the Applications Folder open in a new window when opening it from the menu bar at the top of the screen, you will have to open the main hard drive folder and use the Hide Toolbar trick. This will cause all folders inside it to open in new windows.

This is configured in Finder preferences under the General icon. You can make some changes to that behavior.

Since upgrading to Yosemite, I can't find the option to open a new document from the template chooser. When I type in "template" in the help box it shows it under "file" But when I click on "File" I don't see that option.
