Opening a Numbers ss to the cells I was last working in, rather than A1

I just transferred a spreadsheet to Numbers from Excel.  When I open it, it starts back at cell A:1 when I was last working in CU:15.  Is there a way to "save" the spreadsheet so that it will open to the cells I was last working in?    So far, I love using Numbers, but this is very inconvenient.  Thanks.

CF,
When I Save a Numbers document with a cell Selected and then close the document, the same cell is still selected when I reopen the document. Isn't that what you are asking for? Furthermore, if I have chosen 100% zoom scale, the selected cell is displayed in the same screen position as when it was last saved. What you may be seeing that you don't care for is that if the zoom is other than 100% the table's position in the display window may be different than at the last Save.

  • So just the document I was last working on in pages won't open. I can't email it either it just sits preparing the document no matter what format I try. I can copy it, but the copies don't open either.

So just the document I was last working on in pages won't open. I can't email it either it just sits preparing the document no matter what format I try. I can copy it, but the copies don't open either. I tried deleting documents in pages as well as the app and reinstalling it, but nothing has helped.

Try quitting Pages and then reset your iPad.
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.
Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Each window remain in the view it was last set to?

In Mac OS X, if I change the view of a window, from, say, list view to icon view, and then close the window and open another window that I always keep in list view, I notice that it too, has changed to icon view. This is annoying. Is there a way to set the preferences so that each window will remain in the view it was last set to rather than the view ANOTHER window was set to?

Some users (including me) reported problems like this* in version 10.7.0 and 10.7.1. There was a lot discussion of work-arounds on this forum and others.  Most involved .DS_Store, and --as far as I know-- none of them worked very well.   Ineffective and/or clumsy.
    * I think the main two problems were 1. losing the view settings as you describe and, 2. when icon view was selected and icons arranged according to user's preference, those arrangements would also be lost. That was a serious problem to some people (including me) whose workflow depended heavily on icon arrangements.
Installing 10.7.2 seems to have fixed or significantly improved these for most users.  I have not lost any icon arrangements since I installed 10.7.2.  I _may_ have seen loss of view setting since then.   Before 10.7.2, I noted that some folders seemed more susceptible to these issues than others.  That may still be true. In any case, I think the majority of my folders now successfully preserve view settings through closing and re-opening.

  • Trying to open Aperture, but I get the message, "There was an error opening the database for the library "/Users/davewasson/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary". - and it forces me to quit. What do I do?

Trying to open Aperture, but I get the message, "There was an error opening the database for the library “/Users/davewasson/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary”. - and it forces me to quit. What do I do?

    Dave-
You can try opening the old (problem) library by launching Aperture into Library First Aid mode and choosing to Repair (first option) or Rebuild the library. Before doing this, make a backup copy of the old library, since both Repair or Rebuild will write changes to the library database.
Repair is the faster and less drastic option, so try that first: After backing up your library, hold down both the Option and Command keys while dragging and dropping the problem library on the Aperture icon. The Photo Library First Aid window appears. Select Repair Database, then click Repair. After some time Aperture should open the library, if possible.
If that fails launch Aperture back into Library First Aid and select Rebuild Database. Depending on the size of your library this operation could take some time, up to several hours for a very large library. When the main window appears you may have some extra Recovered folders/projects. This operation rebuilds the library from scratch and is usually successful at reviving problem libraries.

You cannot. (A few email programs might show it automatically; you cannot stop that either).

  • Is there any Vga adaptor for the Ipad 2 that is VIDEO IN rather than OUT?

Is there any Vga adaptor for the Ipad 2 that is VIDEO IN rather than VIDEO OUT? is for a student with visual impairment who needs to view the classroom digital board content from a very short distance, like the distance to an Ipad for example, so the Ipad would be ideal as an interactive monitor with typography and content easy to amplify.
At the moment, this student has a traditional flat screen monitor taking over the table next to him, so no other child can seat in it, and he has no opportunity to befriend and sporadically joke with anybody else. So much for "inclusion".

You need to place the device in recovery mode.

I have a MacBook Pro laptop purchased in June 2011, and the superdrive no longer works.  Rather than have it replaced, I'll buy a 3rd party superdrive that plugs into the USB port.  Does the external superdrive need it's own power source, or will the USB port provide enough power?

The Apple external SuperDrive actually exceeds the allowed power draw. Because of this, it is only trouble-free on certain models that accommodate this excess.
All others require an external Power source.

  • How can I open a Numbers file to the last cell used on from the previous saving of that file?

In Excel, the .xls file would always open on the the cell location where the file was previously saved.  Very nice to have feature when the file is long ,so one does not have to keep scrolling down the page to make the next entry every time the file is opened.
Can Numbers do this?  I can't find an option for it.
After opening a file, I must always scroll down to the last entry or where I want to start inputting data.  What a pain.
Is there a way to open a numbers file to where one was located when it was previously saved?
    Anybody know?  Please help.
    Thanks
