Opening a previously created site

Can anyone tell me how I can open a site, previously created in iweb, for editing?
Every month I need to create a new site for an online article. I usually make a copy then perform my edits. However this time I need to go back to a site I created several months ago to perform some edits. Please help.

Last month I purchased a new computer running on windows 7 and Elements 10. It worked fine when I installed it on the computer and then all of a sudden wouldn't allow me to create a new canvas or open a previously created document. Can someone help me???? Please????

Opening a previously created website

Hi, I'm fairly new to iWeb, so please forgive my ignorance. I have a website which I had created in iWeb, but had a hard drive failure, and now that I have reformatted my hard drive and retrieve the data, I can't work out how to open that site in the program, it only seems to offer new pages and I would prefer not to build the page from scratch if possible. Any help on this would be brilliant.

iWeb stores its info in the Domain.sites2 file found in the User/Application Support/iWeb folder.
Without this package file you'll need to start over.

How do I open a previously created slide show in PSE7?

I created and edited a slide show in PSE7 and closed the slide show editor. I now have an image in the organizer which has a slide show icon in the upper right hand corner. When I click or double click on it, nothing happens and PSE7 stops operating. I must use windows task manager to close PSE7. If I try the create tab with the slide show icon highlighted and then click on slide show editor, PSE7 locks up. How do I open the slide show I created?

Thanks. Actually, I tried rebooting and it worked. Now I just double click the slide show image or right click and click Edit and the slide show editor opens.

How do I open a previously published site that is on .Mac to my new iWeb?

I have a site published on .Mac that I did on my old Mac which had the previous version of iWeb. I just bought a new Mac with iWeb '08 and I can't figure out how to get it to synch with my published site.
Anyone figure this out?

I hate to tell you this, but I asked Apple technical support that very question when the iWeb update Killed my domain file. Which, to be absolutely fair, I did NOT have backed up. I could have saved myself a ton of grief if I had backed up before I updated. TONS!
I asked if there was someway to take my perfectly good site from dot mac and put it in iWeb. He indicated that it was not possible, the only route is to use your old site as a "guide" and build it from scratch.
I'd love to be proven wrong on this one!

Need Help Opening Previous iWeb Site

I recently got a new hard drive. I am trying to open my website "doman" file, but iWeb will not open it (...it only opens a new iweb site and asks me what template I want to use). How can I open my previous published site?

NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible in Lion or Mt. Lion enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Previous iWeb site is gone after upgrade.

I had made a site using the previous version of iWeb (in 10.4) but after I upgraded to 10.5, when I opened iWeb that site was not there. I do have it because I published it to a folder, but how can I get it back into iWeb so I can edit it? Do I have to make it all over again?
I don't see any way to "Open" a previous site.

OK, So now is there any way to open that previously designed site using the new iWeb, since it's not listed in the pane on the left of iWeb?

Please help me figure this out. I'm very unhappy at the moment. I'm fustrated and don't have any idea how to revert to the original version before the update was done on iMovie 10. I NEVER hated APPLE until NOW!! I love APPLE products and apps so please help me stay in that mindset. So I worked on some movie projects when I got my macbook pro 6 months ago. I update reguarly. I saw the update prompt and honestly, I did not think I would have ANY issuess with opening my previous files that I created only a few months ago with this updated version.The new updated version of iMovie 10 won't let me open my previous files I created before the update today. I have a wedding that I'm trying to finish and deliver and now I can't because that file version won't open. I keep getting an error message and the iMovie app closes. Last night I saw the file and tried to open it but no luck. Error message came up again. I reboot and turned off my laptop for the evening and tried again just now but nothing!! I need that video. My job depends on it! I worked so hard on this wedding video and now it's lost and won't open. I work another job and don't have much time. I really don't want to start all over again. I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?
I am running Yosemitie on a iMac.

HT4641 I have recently upgraded to Pages 5.1. I can't open any of my previously created Pages docs because I am told they are too old and have to be saved in Pages'09 first. I don't have Pages '09. How do I open them?

I am technologically challenged senior citizen who recently upgraged to Pages 5.1 from what I think was iWorks '08. I now find that I am not able to open any of my important previously created Pages documents. I receive a pop-up that tells me that they are too old and must be saved in Pages'09 first. I no longer have the disk for iWorks 08 and don't have Pages '09 on my iMac. Any ideas how I might get these documents open?

You should have the old Pages '08 inside the iWork folder, inside your Applications folder.
Open your old files in Pages '08 > Menu > File > Export > Word
Pages 5 can then open that Word file.

I noticed that if I open Final Cut Projects created on other/older models MacBook Pro Laptops or MacPro Desktops, the fonts used in the previously created FCP projects, change their font spacing! which distorts the look of the Text that was written, by oevrlapping on other things that were put & present on the screen.. Another similar probelm is that the Vector shaped used for example to highlight certain words or shapes, also change their position on the screen so that they no longer highlight exact things that we once used these vectors to highlight or outline... Anyone knows how to solve this problem please?? I made sure that the same fonts are available in the Library in both old and newer computers...

You might want to take your question to the FCP forum - if you copied all fonts to your Library>Fonts folder and restarted they should be recognized by all applications. I know that this works for Adobe products, anyway.

After quitting a "private browsing" session, and I quit togo back to previously open tabs/pinned sites, 40% of the time, the Browser does not restore all previously open tabs/pinned apps/sites

Using HP Pavilion Dv7 with Windows Home Premium, 64bit, and only now and then will FF4.0.1 restore previous (normal) session after returning from a private browsing session, )I use the Quit Private Browsing menu item from the Toolbar right-click menu to go back).... In addition, previously Pinned sites (apps) are lost also, and all must be re-added.
Inconsistent failure and I've not been able to reliably reproduce-- sometimes (about 4-6 times in 10) it just loses all previous information.

I would add that bookmarks may be organised into folders and subfolders. You may wish to make more use of bookmarks if only to ensure you do not loose everything if your session restore becomes problematic.
Bookmarks are a bit more robust than the session restore system. Firefox backs them up automatically and you may do so manually. Possibly Firefox will behave better and faster with hundreds of bookmarks but only tens of tabs open. There is also the tabs groups, but that is something I think development has ceased on and may have similar issues to session restore / or open tabs.

Either Keynote says that the file cannot be opened or it crashes.
What can I do?

Check you are using the correct version of Keynote to open the files; right click the file and select Open With > Keynote 6.2.
