Opening a previously created website

Hi, I'm fairly new to iWeb, so please forgive my ignorance. I have a website which I had created in iWeb, but had a hard drive failure, and now that I have reformatted my hard drive and retrieve the data, I can't work out how to open that site in the program, it only seems to offer new pages and I would prefer not to build the page from scratch if possible. Any help on this would be brilliant.

iWeb stores its info in the Domain.sites2 file found in the User/Application Support/iWeb folder.
Without this package file you'll need to start over.

Can anyone tell me how I can open a site, previously created in iweb, for editing?
Every month I need to create a new site for an online article. I usually make a copy then perform my edits. However this time I need to go back to a site I created several months ago to perform some edits. Please help.

When I open Safari multiple windows open with previously viewed websites

For some reason since I upgraded to the OS X Lion and Safari 5.1, when I open Safari it opens up multiple windows with previously visited websites. When I close some sites they reopen again in another window. Why is this happening?

I created a website with iWeb on another computer (I'll call it Computer A) and copied all the files onto an external hard drive. I plugged the external hard drive to another computer (Computer B) and want to edit that website, but there's no 'Open' to select from the File menu in iWeb like on other programs. This can't mean that I can make changes to that website only on Computer A, does it?? How do I access that website on Computer B??

It is not complicated at all. All you need to do is be aware that your site is created using a domain file and you need to copy that domain file to be able to update your site on any other computer. Then you can just double click on the domain file and open it.
iWeb is not lame at all. It was designed for its ease of use and one click publishing, however, it only creates html files on publishing. That is just the way it works and has always worked.
If you want anything complicated, you could consider using packages such as Dreamweaver or an html editor and write your own code.

How do I open a previously created slide show in PSE7?

I created and edited a slide show in PSE7 and closed the slide show editor. I now have an image in the organizer which has a slide show icon in the upper right hand corner. When I click or double click on it, nothing happens and PSE7 stops operating. I must use windows task manager to close PSE7. If I try the create tab with the slide show icon highlighted and then click on slide show editor, PSE7 locks up. How do I open the slide show I created?

Thanks. Actually, I tried rebooting and it worked. Now I just double click the slide show image or right click and click Edit and the slide show editor opens.

Please help me figure this out. I'm very unhappy at the moment. I'm fustrated and don't have any idea how to revert to the original version before the update was done on iMovie 10. I NEVER hated APPLE until NOW!! I love APPLE products and apps so please help me stay in that mindset. So I worked on some movie projects when I got my macbook pro 6 months ago. I update reguarly. I saw the update prompt and honestly, I did not think I would have ANY issuess with opening my previous files that I created only a few months ago with this updated version.The new updated version of iMovie 10 won't let me open my previous files I created before the update today. I have a wedding that I'm trying to finish and deliver and now I can't because that file version won't open. I keep getting an error message and the iMovie app closes. Last night I saw the file and tried to open it but no luck. Error message came up again. I reboot and turned off my laptop for the evening and tried again just now but nothing!! I need that video. My job depends on it! I worked so hard on this wedding video and now it's lost and won't open. I work another job and don't have much time. I really don't want to start all over again. I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?
I am running Yosemitie on a iMac.

HT4641 I have recently upgraded to Pages 5.1. I can't open any of my previously created Pages docs because I am told they are too old and have to be saved in Pages'09 first. I don't have Pages '09. How do I open them?

I am technologically challenged senior citizen who recently upgraged to Pages 5.1 from what I think was iWorks '08. I now find that I am not able to open any of my important previously created Pages documents. I receive a pop-up that tells me that they are too old and must be saved in Pages'09 first. I no longer have the disk for iWorks 08 and don't have Pages '09 on my iMac. Any ideas how I might get these documents open?

You should have the old Pages '08 inside the iWork folder, inside your Applications folder.
Open your old files in Pages '08 > Menu > File > Export > Word
Pages 5 can then open that Word file.

I noticed that if I open Final Cut Projects created on other/older models MacBook Pro Laptops or MacPro Desktops, the fonts used in the previously created FCP projects, change their font spacing! which distorts the look of the Text that was written, by oevrlapping on other things that were put & present on the screen.. Another similar probelm is that the Vector shaped used for example to highlight certain words or shapes, also change their position on the screen so that they no longer highlight exact things that we once used these vectors to highlight or outline... Anyone knows how to solve this problem please?? I made sure that the same fonts are available in the Library in both old and newer computers...

You might want to take your question to the FCP forum - if you copied all fonts to your Library>Fonts folder and restarted they should be recognized by all applications. I know that this works for Adobe products, anyway.

Empty the Safari cache more often.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

I have 2 computers and both gives the same bug.
Either Keynote says that the file cannot be opened or it crashes.
What can I do?

Check you are using the correct version of Keynote to open the files; right click the file and select Open With > Keynote 6.2.

Can't open Cards or Books I have previously created

I just upgraded to iLife 11 and now can't get into my previously created Cards and Books. Also, I tried creating a new card, but now can not get into that either. I seem to have all my Albums in tact, but can't open any of my Projects (although all are still listed). How to I get into existing projects?

IIf you forgot your restrictions passcode, you have to restore your devoce using iTunes and you will totally erase the device. There is no way around it. if by some chance you have a backup that does not contain the passcode that you can't remember, you can restore that backup to remove the passcode. Otherwise, restore as new.
You will have to download your eBooks again. If you are purchasing books for the iBooks store, most of those can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with - and as long as they are still available in the iBooks Store.

10.5.5 Can't open previously created Illustrator files!!

I've recently updated to 10.5.5 and now I can't open previously created Illustrator files, prior to the update, I had no problems. I get the error message- can't open the illustration with an OK box which, when clicked, opens the document in preview mode, but I can't do anything with the document!
