Opening a stream
I've got a URL that opens a stream in my browser. I tried to get this included in iTunes via the Advanced > Open Stream... menu choice. As a result, I see the site name in the iTunes scrolling display but no sound.
What do I have to do to get this to work?
FWIW, the URL I'm attempting to open is http://www.americafree.tv/unicast_embed/FreeBlues128.html
TIA,
David
That's just the web page, not the URL to the stream. Try this URL instead:
http://www.americafree.tv/unicast_mov/FreeBlues128.mov
It works for me.
Regards.

Mssage when opening Photo Stream on-"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel" Help!!!
You are posting in the "icloud on my mac" forum, but your profile mentions Windows. If using a mac, you need to have iphoto or aperture installed in order to receive new photos via photo stream. If using windows, try posting in the iCloud on a PC forum. You'll get better help there.

I downloaded Windows Media Player 9 to play video reviews from the video game site Gamespot. When i open the stream to play the video it is amazingly slow in making a connection. I am connected to the internet through the airport to a linksys router upstairs. I have DSL connection. Could it be becuase of the setting of the router or the firewall? If so how can I fix it? Thanks.
I have ethernet cable connection, and have the same problem.
I thinks its just WMP 9 and the files which are the problem.
Do quicktime files work better?

ITunes not opening some streams
Hi all,
osx:
10.6.7
iTunes: last update
Since last iTunes update, I am experiencing problems in opening those streams:
http://listen.di.fm/public3/techhouse.pls (everytime)
http://listen.di.fm/public3/minimal.pls (sometimes)
http://88.198.133.16:8024 (ibizaglobalradio)(always) http://s6.streammonster.com/tunein.php/stsimons/playlist.pls (minimalstation.de) (sometimes)
while I can perfectly play them all while opening with Snowtape.
Thanks & Regards,

How to open Photo Stream in Windows
I took a bunch of pictures and video on my iPhone 3Gs (5.0) and don't know how to open Photo Stream on my PC (Win 7). I can see a folder in my pictures library, but I can open the ithmb files. Thank You.
That would be a question for the iCloud forum - iPhoto does not run on a PC

After doing a manual reconstruct on the cyrus mailboxes, the server refuses to send or receive mail. Attempting to send email via squirrelmail's web interface, I get the following error:
Connection refused 61 can't open SMTP stream
Nothing seems changed in either the postconf or squirrelmail's config file...anyone else experienced this problem?? No email is being received either....
Thanks,
JimHere's the postconf -

When i try to open two streams each on one monitor ( in fullscreen), the one opened second just overlaps the existing one.
Hi wilson1470,
Only one window can be in fullscreen at a time. Is it possible to keep the second on in a tab of the same fullscreen window?
This may be a nice alternative to what you are looking for: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/monitor-master/] -
Open Audio Stream during Start Up
Open Audio Stream during Start Up
I would like to automatically open an audio stream during start up in OS X Tiger.
Placing an alias for the steam in the Accounts Log In Items of the System Preferences does not seem to work.
Any ideas?Michael--
You ought to be able to do this with an AppleScript as an Account Login item. Just save the AppleScript as an application:tell application "iTunes"
open location "http://www.server.com/streaming.mp3"
end tellYou'll need the URL for the stream...

Open audio stream url too long
I found an internet radio that I wanted to import into itunes using open audio stream, but it has 226 characters in the URL and won't allow me to paste the entire thing. Is there any way around this?
Did not fix, I cleared the cache and cookies.
The website is picasaweb.google.com

EOFException opening input stream in servlet
We are getting intermittent EOFException opening input stream in the servlet.
Out application contains applet running in the browser and accessing servlet. It writes binary data to the output stream (opened from URLConnection) and on server side servlet reads data from the input stream opened from http request object. It worked fine until we moved ear to different box. Now sometime (not always) we get EOFException on the server side opening input stream.
Any suggestions on cause of the problem?
We are running WL 8.1.5
Thanks,

Opening foto stream folder crashes my windows 7 explorer. how can I correct this?
I've just installed Icloud in my Win 7 PC to be used with my Iphone 5. Icloud has been turned "on" on the phone. When I open Windows
explorer and click on the Photo Strram System folder, the program crashes, I need to close it using the Windows task manager. I haven't been able to find out if the phone is actually streaming any pictures to the PC. Any suggestions to solve this problem will be greatly appreciated. ThanksHi there
No need to get testy. Lilybiri was being spot on with the comparison.
The only solution for you will be to uninstall the Flash player, then locate an older version of the Flash player and install it on the Windows XP you have. Captivate is now at version 8 and several years have passed since version 1.1. You will likely not make 1.1 work with Windows 7 or Windows 8. In fact, the only way I'm aware to remotely make it work on those operating systems is by first ensuring you have the Professional or Ultimate version, then installing the Windows XP mode Virtual Machine.
Here is a link for uninstalling the Flash Player
And here is a link for the older versions
Sorry, but you are on your own to sort exactly how far back you will need to go to find a version of Flash Player that works with this version of Captivate. And keep in mind, that even though you finally get a Flash Player version that allows it to run, you will only be able to run it on some form of Windows XP. It will not run on Windows 7 or 8 unless you install the VM. And when you do that, you will be stuck inside the VM and will not be able to record anything outside it in the 7 or 8 environment.
Cheers... Rick -
I'm sooo about to uninstall itunes and quicktime. I've changed the options for the quicktime and it's still opening the mp3 links in my browser with quicktime streaming it. Can some one please help me?
I had to go through the plugins folder in Opera and delete them manually. I'd suggest Apple come up with a better solotion like beable to set this kind of stuff before you finish installing.

Fails to open connection stream
Ok, so have a page that works wonderfully where it currently sits (off the HTTP_ROOT).
It includes the line:
<?php require_once('/Connections/imaging101.php'); ?>
I decided I wanted to move this page, along with a few others that are all "admin only" to an "admin" directory. I moved the pages and DW automatically updated the above string to:
<?php require_once('../Connections/imaging101.php'); ?>
I expected this to work, but it does not... I constantly get the error:
Warning: require_once(Connections/imaging101.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream:
No such file or directory in
/home/content/d/j/m/djmikewatt/html/sites/imaging101/includes/left_pane.php
on line 1
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required
'Connections/imaging101.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php') in
/home/content/d/j/m/djmikewatt/html/sites/imaging101/includes/left_pane.php
on line 1
I tried adjusting the string to things like:
<?php require_once($_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].'/Connections/imaging101.php'); ?>
<?php require_once($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'[path from root]/Connections/imaging101.php'); ?>
None of this works. I don't know what is wrong. If the page works off the root, and then is places one level deep ([root]/admin/) shouldn't simply adding the ".." in front of the path do the trick? (../Connections/imaging101.php)
Am I missing something else here?Thread moved to Dreamweaver Application Development forum, which deals with server-side issues.
The PHP include and require commands use document-relative paths or look for files in your PHP include_path. They do not understand links relative to the site root. It would appear that the previous location of your include file just happened to translate correctly to the location of the include file. Now that you have moved it, PHP can't find it.
The reason $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] doesn't work is because most hosts turn off the inclusion of files through a URL. In fact, it's the default setting in PHP since 5.2.
I don't know why $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] doesn't work, but it's not supported on all servers, so that might be the problem.
There are two simple ways to solve this problem:
Use an absolute path, starting with /home/content/ etc.
Use set_include_path() to add the folder where the file resides in your include_path. -
Opening a stream in the browser
So I changed a setting/preference somewhere so that a stream woudl open in a seperate Quicktime window. Now that I'm done watching this stream I'd like to reset the setting/preference; I'd like streams to open in the page/window of the browser. How do I go about arranging this?
