Opening a UDF form

Hi all
i wish to open the Side form which shows the UDF fields for a given system form. question is how can i open the form through code?
once i've opened the form i wish to set the visibility of the UDF fields appearing in the UDF form.
question is how do i obtain the from's object in order to set the appearance of the UDF items within it?

SBO_Application.SendKeys "^+U"
End If
6913 is user defined field menu item id.
you can see user defined form is opened everytime you open a certain form with that code samples in form_load event.

I'm looking for any way to find out if the UDF form is visible
else then trying to open it in a try catch and if it's not sending a key. This if very ugly, slow and not really my kind.
I tried to iterate through all the forms in SBO_Application.Forms but it's not there. All I see is the main form
I just need to make sure the UDF form is visible when Inventory form is loaded so I can put a value in one of the UDF

Hi Marc,
Rather than putting your data in the UDF in the UDF side form, you can add a control to the main form (during the load event of the form) and bind this to the UDF through the DBDataSource that is already available on the main form. This means that you don't need to worry about whether the UDF form is open or not because you can always read or write to your UDF data from the main form.
Alternatively, the UDF form TypeEx property is always the same as the main form but with a minus sign in front. Therefore, if you know the TypeEx and FormTypeCount of the main form then you can use the GetForm method of the Application object to get the UDF form.
oForm = _sboApp.Forms.GetForm("-" + oMainForm.TypeEx, oMainForm.TypeCount);
You'd still need a try/catch around this and if it raises an error then activate the 6913 menu to open the UDF form.

i want to obtain the ID and Type of a UDF form which opens as a side form for a given SBO form. question is how can i obtain the ID and Type of the UDF form thourgh code?

"Open Interface Invoices" Form takes time to open!

Hi Guys,
In our production system, it takes 3 minutes to open "Open Interface Invoices" form (AP Manager>Invoices>Entry>Open Interface Invoices). So what should we do so as to avoid this.
I was thinking to delete data from two tables (AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE & AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE) based on certain crieterions. Like all the records which have been successfully imported i.e. with status='PROCESSED' can be deleted. So, I can achieve this using two methods:
1. Manually using SQL Delete statement. i.e.
DELETE FROM AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE WHERE status='PROCESSED';
DELETE FROM AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE
WHERE invoice_id IN (SELECT invoice_id FROM AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE WHERE status='PROCESSED');
2. Or I can use "Payables Open Interface Purge" Program.
I ran this program for my specific source, and checked the count from tables but the result is the same. This means this program has not deleted any of the processed records from these two tables for the particular source.
What can be the reason for this? Please suggest me on this.

So I tested it out on Windows Pro Reader X 3GB and it opened right away. Then I put it down to 1GB and it took over a minute! Best bet is to get a faster machine! (or at least a memory upgrade)
In the mean time, I had a look at your form and there were a lot of objects and subforms that didn't need to be there, so I cleaned it up and made one repeatable subform. It works a lot faster now even on a 1GB.
You can edit the title of each entry in the scripting object myLists.

Hi All ,
FRM-10102: Cannot attach PL/SQL library XXX. This library attachment will be lost if the module is saved.
I am getting above error message while opening Oracle 6i Form in 10g.
I get the following Alert message when I try to attach the library to my form -
Attached library name
S:\.........xxx.pll contains non-portable directory specification. Remove path? Yes/No?
If I select 'No', the Form compiles and runs without any error.
But if I select 'Yes', I get the following error message:
FRM-40039: Cannot attach library xxx while opening form.
All files (fmb, fmx, pll, plx) are on the same path. I detached and then re-attached the library but this didn't work for me?

use the shiped batch program frmplsqlconv.bat to convert all your forms/librarys from Forms 6i to 10g.
you can call it in wizard mode from the start menu (e.g. OracleDeveloperSuite <OraHome> => Forms Developer => Forms Migration Assistant (GUI Mode) and follow the instructions step by step
or you can call it by batch to convert all your forms/librarys. The batch file is found in
<ORA10g_HOME>BIN\frmplsqlconv.bat
=>
frmplsqlconv.bat <formname>

Updating UDFs in the UDF form of a sales order

I got the UDF form of a corresponding main sales order form.
I am trying to set a value for one of the UDFs there, but I get a 'General Failure' exception (Simply trying to set the edittext's UDFItem.Value or UDFItem.String properties)
I know I have the right form and item, since I can change the item's BackColor.
The DBDataSource.GetValue works, so I can read the existing values.
The DBDataSource.SetValue doesn't work, but I'm used to it
Any ideas?

We cant use Setvalue directly in Predefined for u better to use

Can not open PLLs on Forms Builder 10g

Hi Folks,
everytime I try to open an existing PLL-File via the Forms Builder FileOpen-Dialog I have got the message
    PDE-PLI018 Couln not find library
    Drive:\Path\LibName.pll
Pressing the OK-Button returns to the FileOpen-Dialog. The selected FileType in the Dialog take effect to the filelist but nothing else.
Note that the file exists and I select it from the Filelist!
About Forms Window shows the following:

While converting from 6i to 10g it is unavoidable to convert forms and libraries, so please help me!
PS: I can recompile forms with attached libraries if the PLX-Files (6i) are available, but the forms will not work with these PLX-Files.

I tried to generate a new library. This works fine until I saved it. After naming the library and pressing the save button in the dialog the pll file was created and the same error message appears.
I closed form builder and tried to reopen the library: same error.
I generated another new library and save this by selecting the first new I generated. Jippee! I get the message that the file already exists! I selected "overwrite" and the file was overwritten. After that the same error appears.
How can I (re)open PLL files? It is no solution to generate a new library overwriting the old one everytime some changes should made.
Trying to build the library (Ctrl+T) produces another error:
    FRM-91507: Internal Error: Unable to generate library.
Compiling (Ctrl-Shift-K) works fine.

there's no user except of me on the pc and server (I'm working via rdp-client on a virtual server), no server and no oc4j task or instance started. The one and only program that runs is forms builder. The error occurs if I just try to open a pll file via the file open dialog of forms builder.
With my admins we found that forms builder creates a (temporary) file (e.g. s22o without extension with 827392 bytes) in c:\ but only if I'm the actual user. After I'm getting the permission to create and update files on c:\ forms builder was able to open pll files. Now we're trying to find out why this accurs only on my login. With other users we tried these file was created on F:\ which is the personal drive of the user. I'm only wondering about the fact that temporary files were not created in the TEMP folder defined by the TMP or TEMP environment variable.
So we solved this unusual problem in an unusual way.

Right/best method to open and close form?

When i click a button from FormA, it open FormC and it should be the same with button from FormB-used to open the same FormC but it doesn't.
this happen when i previously open FormC from FormA before opening it in FormB.
I use setvisible(true) to open form and setvisible(false) to close the form and this doesn't seem right..
i use exactly the same method as shown in Creating Swing Clients for Business Components Tutorial
anyone can help? i'm new with Java n Jdeveloper...

this question is best answered in teh JDeveloper forum on OTN because this Forum is for Oracle Forms. You can start and hide forms in Java using setVisible(true|false), howvere, this doesn't release the hanlde to the data bound.
In the HowTo setcion of the otn.oracle.com/products/jdev there exist a document "How Do I dynamically Change the Binding of a View Object to JClient Panel?"
This explains how you work with RowSet Iterators to reuse forms.

Urgent: Problem opening a data form that uses a smart list

Hi, we've got a problem with a data form that is quite unusual.
The data form was working perfectly until yesterday when we put a smart list in it. The smart list is composed of 8 possible choices activated by the following member formula:

Initially we tested the functioning of every different choice in the smart list and it was working properly. After a while we tried again to change the choices combination and we couldn't open the data form due to an error.
It is quite strange because sometimes it work and sometimes it doesn't. In the data form (that is very large) there are many accounts and scenarios that are dynamic calc, in addition to the smart list formula; we tried to open the form two minutes ago converting the data storage type of a scenario from "Dynamic calc" into "Dynamic calc and Store", and it seems to work at the moment... does planning have a memory limit? Can someone suggest a solution (or help us find out the reason)?

Error while opening the ADOBE FORM via mail

Hi to all,
I have created a program to attached ADOBE FORM to mail.
When I execute the program, it sends ADOBE FORM to my mail ID successfully.
But when I open my mail and try to open attached ADOBE FORM, it gives error
ADOBE READER COULD NOT OPEN u2018PDF FORM (1). PDFu2019 because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged ( for example, it was sent as an email attached and wasnu2019t correctly decoded).
Please can any tell me, what the problem is and what the solution is for that?
