Opening a web address though a java file help

Hello, I am currently creating a game, made in java. I have a game website but i want to make it so that when someone clicks on an item or object in the game, it starts the default web browser and opens our website. I have no idea how to do this as i have only been creating the client for the game and not the server side. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Google "java hyperlink" for more information than you can read in a lifetime.

    I pull up google. Type in a search query. The results pull up. I choose a website link and instead of going to the website, a notification window pops up asking me to confirm a download of a .jsf file or a .txt file. I will post an example below:

  • How to hyperlink the web-address in an image file

    I have created a document on Keynote, which I saved as "Image" so I can send it out as mail.
    How can I make a Hyperlink for our www.com address on the Image file?
    I know already that Hyperlink works on PDF, however I don't want to send my document as an attachment, but scroll down.
    thanks

    How do you get it to default to the account that the email arrived in.   My exchange server email is my primary account.  But the reply keeps defaulting to my 2nd email account which is a SBCglobal.net account.   Why does it do this and how do I correct this.
    Seems like it would be simple and automatically default to the account the mail came in on.   What am I missing.

    Is this happening on a computer running Windows (you posted with as Mac)?
    If this is an issue on a Windows computer:
    It is possible that security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Opening a web browser from a Java prog

    I am writing a pseudo-wordprocessor, and would like to be able to set a JMenuItem's action so that when a user clicks it, the system default web browser opens with the web page that I have selected. (e.g. open up a "Help" web page).
    The JavaDoc/tutorial doesn't seem to have anything on running external programs from within a Java program, so does nayone know how this is done?

    If you don't want to go the Java Runtime route and make your program a bit more cross-platform friendly, you could use the JEditorPane to render an html page directly in your application (assuming of course that you're using Swing).

  • I just installed 7.0.1, but when i go to open a web site, it cannot find firefox to open the web address.

    I have been trouble having trouble with my browser and actually had to get to the Firefox web site by going through Safari since my shortcut was not getting me there. i saw that there was an upgrade to 7.0.1 so i downloaded it, installed it, and now i can't get in to any web sites through firefox at all. by browser says it can't find it. when it was installed, it was save to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    The problem is with desktop shortcuts or links in external programs?
    First, turn off Firefox's setting to check whether it is the default. This is in the Advanced Options as described in this article: [[Advanced settings for accessibility, browsing, system defaults, network, updates, and encryption]].
    Next, go to your preferred browser, and use its internal feature to have it make itself your default browser. For Internet Explorer, see: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/make-ie-default-browser (there is a version selector on the right side of the page if it opens for an inapplicable version)
    Does that fix it?

  • Can I copy bookmark titles and web addresses to a document file?

    I would like to copy my current bookmarks to a Word document. If I highlight>right-click>copy then try to paste into a blank page, the only information that appears is the bookmark title. I also need the URL selected, but the copy/paste function does not work.

    I would suggest that you use Mozbackup to backup your entire profile instead of trying to convert a bunch of emails into a Word document. Then if something bad happens you just install Thunderbird on the new computer and restore the backup. Then you have your address books and emails.

  • When I try and search without the web address it says the file is not known

    When I type a search into the search bar it says
    Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox/omni.jar!/chrome/en-GB/locale/browser-region/region.propertiestor+homes.

    I found this solution that worked for me in this thread
    [[http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/806157]]
    Type '''about:config''' in the location bar at the top, then type '''keyword.URL''' in the filter at the top.
    Then double click the entry and remove whatever you find in there which will return it to "Default" and "String".
    Then close Firefox via File | Exit.
    Restart and then try typing one of your queries again.

    I have noticed this. One time it crashed when using a video app such as VLC, and another time when changing desktops between an app playing a video and say Skype or Google Chrome (I can't be sure which).

    I've noticed that my case is similar to some people's in this thread.

  • How do I reverse the latest update to Firefox 4.0? I recently updated and have nothing but problems...nothing works! Click on links with no result, enter web address nothing happens. Please help me downgrade to previous version as this is rediculous!

    Check that the Bookmarks Toolbar is visible and that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is still placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
    If the menu bar is hidden then press F10 or hold down the Alt key, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear.
    Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" (Linux, Windows)
    * Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
    * If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
    * If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items that are missing in the toolbar palette or on a toolbar then click the "Restore Default Set" button

  • How to open a web browser from java

    Hi
    Would anybody please help me with this. I need to open a web browser from my java app but I don't know. What method I can use?
    Thanks.
    Hung.

    You can use the Runtime class for this. It can run any command. So, you can run the .exe file of your Web browser.
    The following code will run Internet Explorer (assuming iexplorer.exe is in C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer):
    import java.lang.Runtime;
    public class Explore{
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    try{
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore");
    }catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Exception: " + e);
