Opening AI file in acrobat artboards outsized

When opening an illustrator file with acrobat, you can see one artboard per page.
But why is it that the size of each page is three times bigger than the original artboard?
Example: I have an ai file with multiple artboards of size 600x600, but when view with acrobat, they suddenly have a size of 2500x2500!
Is it possible to maintain the original artboard size in acrobat? If not, is it possible to resize the artboard images when exporting via acrobat?
The only method i know of now is:
Dim ojs As Object = pdfDoc.GetJSObject
     ojs.saveas("c:\temp\aaa\a.jpg", "com.adobe.acrobat.jpeg", False)
But i do not know how to resize them without color loss
Any help on this appreciated!
Version: CS6

Forget the idea that the artboard has a size in pixels. It doesn't by the time it's a PDF.
So you have a PDF with a size in inches and you save as JPEG. The size in pixels of the JPEG depends on that size in inches AND the resolution used to generate the JPEG. This resolution might be fixed in Acrobat or it might be an option, not sure, but I'm not hopeful it's an option.
I think you might find you had more control if you used Photoshop - quite possibly for the whole task, or if not, for opening the PDF - you can always set the image size and resolution before saving as JPEG.

  • Open PDF file in Acrobat reader rather than SAP Document viewer...

    Hello everyone,
Whenever we attach a pdf file using Services for objects-->Store Business documents, an attachment list list is created and the file is archived in the repository.
If we double click on it, the pdf is opened in SAP Document viewer and not in Acrobat Reader unlike word document....
Can anyone tell me what configuration changes should be made and where so as to open pdf file in Acrobat?
Similarily what changes should be made so as to open Email files in Outlook?

Which version of the Acrobat Reader do you use?
According to my experience with our desktop this might be a feature of ACROBAD READER X.
    Kind regards

Make sure you have updated Acrobat X to the latest version 10.1.3.  They updated the PDF plug-in in 10.1.1:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83708/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_ReleaseNote_ 10.1.1.pdf#page=4

  • Open PDF file on Acrobat Reader X on Document library file click

    Hi,
    Can you anyone tell me?
How to open PDF file in reader from document library on pdf file click?
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to open PDF file on Acrobat Reader X in SharePoint Document Library.
We need to provide the OpenControl key in the DocIcon.xml and clients should use Acrobat X or Reader X to leverage.
Here is a blog for your reference:

  • I'VE CREATED A FORM WITH IMAGES. WHEN I OPEN THE FILE IN ACROBAT READER, THE IMAGES ARE BALCK BOXES!

I'VE CREATED A FORM WITH IMAGES. WHEN I OPEN THE FILE IN ACROBAT READER THE IMAGES ARE BLACK BOXES.
THE FORM HAs (extend features to acrobat reader). THE FORM WAS DISTRIBUTED.
NON OF MY EMPOYEES CAN SEE THE IMAGES. WHAT'S WRONG? CAN YOU HELP?

However, the view large images is an issue for a form that is being distributed. Either a note needs to be added to the PDF to tell how to enable the view or the images need to be changed so that the enabling is not needed.

  • How do I open PDF files in Acrobat, not Safari?

Sorry for such a dumb question, but I would like to open & view PDF files in Acrobat (v7.03 standard) rather than in Safari when I go to a PDF file in Safari, but I can't figure out how to do this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. (OS 10.4.2)

Ok, You can do one of 2 things.
Go where ever you find something that needs you to download to view as a .pdf.
If it opens in your browser as a pdf but not with the Adobe logo save it to your desktop by either opening the print dialogue and clicking "Save as PDF".
You can actually do that with any document. Then just highlight but dont open and click on "Get Info".
Once inthe dialogue ,look to the part that says "Open with" and locate and select Adobe 7.0.3. Click 'Open With' to select the dailogue that says, 'Use this application to open all documents like this.'
    Click 'Change all'
    That should do it.
Also you can right click on a mac pdf document and get the dialogue 'Open with' and find and select Acrobat. You will be asked by Adobe if you want to make Acrobat the defaulf programme for such files.
There used to be somewhere that you could just go to and download a simple pdf that when clicked on just presented you with the last piece of this method.
You could also just stick in a CD of a programme that you have bought for your Mac, drag any PDF that may appear on the CD to your desktop and perform the latter part of instructions.
    Cheers

  • Get wierd screen when opening PDF file in Acrobat/Reader 9.5.2

Here's the screen I now get when trying to open a Captivate-generated PDF in either Acrobat or Reader 9.5.2. Any thoughts?

    Hi Ronpref,
I created a Captivated PDF file of size ~15 MB (created with Adobe Captivate 5.5) and opened it with Acrobat 9.5.2. I did not see any issue opening this file, all the contents were seen properly. As soon as I launched this PDF, it asked me to install Adobe Flash. Once installed, this PDF file was opened successfully and I could move forward/back within that captivate movie.
You can check if this same issue is present on other machine with Acrobat 9.5.2. If not, then there are chances that this issue is specific to your machine.
Alternatively, as I suggested earlier, try using Reader XI.
    Thanks.

  • How to Open JPM files in Acrobat

Is there is any option available for opeining JPM files (Image file with extension .jpm) in any version of Acrobat?
    Thanks,
    Rajasekaran A.

I don't think it's hard if understood the question properly you can try this I do it most of the time and this might be the solution for you, sometimes minor simple click is a life saver:)
    1.
Open SQL Server Management Studio, or if it's running select File -> Connect Object Explorer... and click the
    connect drop down arrow
    2.
In the Connect to Server dialog you will see Database Enghine, Analaysis Servie on so on and you go head change Server type to
    SQL Server Compact Edition
    3.
From the Database file drop-down as shown below click the drop down arrow and select <
    Browse for more...>
    4.
    And you will see C:\, D:\, G:\
drive and so on and open, your SDF file where it is located
I hope this has been informative for you and good luck

Is anyone aware of any possible issue with Adobe FileOpenInstaller.exe or FIleOpenINstaler.msi packages

I have just installed Adobe Reader 9. I am getting frequent system hangs (cannot do anything without cold re-boot) when using the product, in particular when using forms documents provided by Companies House, a UK government agency.
