Opening an application in Workspace results in blank screen
Hello expert,
When we try opening an application in Workspace we are obtaining a blank screen. With other applications this problem doesn't happens.
Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue?
We already try restarting services and also reconfiguring and redeploying Planning in EPM System Configurator - our product version is 11.1.2.2.
Bellow I copy the error in "HyS9Planning-sysout" log.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Are there any errors being written to the logs like the JVM crashing? I take it this is the application is in ADF mode and not classic, does it happen with other user accounts, do you get the same issue going directory to planning e.g. http://<planningserver>:8300/HyperionPlanning
There used to be a problem in the old classic applications where the last page was accessed and it was a large form which caused the JVM to crash, the login issue was resolved by updating table HSP_USER_PREFS and clearing entries in MRU_SCREEN_PROPS then restarting planning.
Cheers

The application maps is not working. When I try to run it opens for a few seconds with a blank screen and then closes.
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

Thanks.It may be worth having a read of the following doc in Oracle support as it sounds like it could be DCOM related - "Identifying and Troubleshooting DCOM Issues Affecting Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) [ID 1419144.1]"

Is this a known issue? What are the steps to resolve this issue?
Thanks in AdvanceHi Manoj,
Please check the following points
Is shared service is running
Is HFM application thick client working
Is application been creataed, if yes, is that application registered with shared services.
Check Workspace services is running or not, and Hyperion Financial Managment services is running or not.
Make sure that all services are running before you open workspace.
Let me know what your system gives messages.

When ever we opened HFM Application through workspace, getting struck and through client is going good. Any guess on this.. please share.
We have tried to Reset IIS, Recycle Services & Reboot Servers -- After this some time will works good , Then again isue repeats.
Appriciate your help!
Regards,
RSVYeah the issue seem to be with IIS,
Try launching the application through the url
http://hfmwebserver/hfm/logon/processlogon.asp?workspace=false&username=admin&password=password replacing hfmwebserver with web server you have in your env and username and password respectively to see if there is some improper registration of Web Server with HFM.
Also check IIS worker process settings.
Thanks

What version of PageMaker?
Can you open the PageMaker app ok?
If so, what happens if you then use File > Open? (Not double click) -

That is not normal. Very few apps are actually running in the background. What troubleshooting steps have you taken? Have you reset the phone by simultaneously pressing the Home and power buttons until the apple appears? Restored from back up? Restored as new? -
My video app that is preloaded on the IPAD will not open. all I can see is a blank screen. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix it?
The "The connection was reset" error message can be caused by a bug fix for the BEAST (Browser Exploit Against SSL/TLS) attack that the server doesn't handle.

Unable to open Planning application through Workspace
Hi All,
I have Installed and configured the Hyperion products in the following Order
->Foundation services
->Essbase server
->Essbase Administration service
->Planning
->Reporting and Analysis
->Workspace
We know that workspace is a single user interface.
After configuring, I tried to open the Planning Application through workspace but I could not able to find "*Classic Application Administration*" under Administer option of Navigate menu Kindly guide me.
Thanks and Regards
chiDamYou don't need to start downloading weblogic.
Usually the issue is that either the web server has not been configured (this is not weblogic) or the permissions are not correct in shared services e.g. the hss roles of application creator, dimension editor.
You can always try going to create a planning application directly first http://<planningmachine>:8300/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp
Cheers

Hi everyone,
I have been using imovie a lot on my macbook and never had any problems. Last night however I deleted two events in my library. Then restarted my macbook as sometimes after working on it for a while it gets slow. So anyway when I opened it up again it just hung on a blank screen with nothing happening. It didnt bring up the usual screen panels for importing, or editing, or any of the normal stuff.
My husband deleted the application and then reinstalled it. Same thing happening!! Any advice??Another easy way to fix this.
What I've noticed is that upon upgrading your projects and events to work with iMovie 10, initially it will work... Until you quit iMovie and reopen it again. Any events with hashtags will show up without the star next to the iMovie event. SO, if you happen to read this, after upgrading to iMovie 10 from its predecessor, immediately change the event name to NOT include a hashtag/pound symbol.
Otherwise, if it's too late, you can either do the above or this...
Hold down option and click on iMovie. This will prompt you Locate, Create a New Library, Cancel this window, or Choose a different library. What you want to do is create a new library, call it whatever you want to, this will only be temporary. After the program opens, it should be a blank Library. Then go to File > Open Library > iMovie Library (your original library) and proceed to change the name of your events. Quit the program. Go into your Movies folder in Finder, delete the library you temporarily created, and your back in business. -
New Install - startx results in blank screen with mouse cursor
I installed Arch on my desktop last week with no issues, so I wanted to install it on an old THinkpad R31. Everything with the installation went smooth, but when I try to 'startx' all I get is a blank screen with a mouse cursor that I can move around. I've installed xorg-xinit, xorg-twm, xorg-xclock, and xterm.
I'm not getting any significant errors in the logs, or even the terminal I issue 'startx' in.
I'm not sure what the problem could be...
Here is my output from 'startx'

To run twm, you need to install xorg-twm from [extra] (I am not sure if it installs by default). Do you have xterm installed?
According to his first post he has both xorg-twm and xterm installed.
I do indeed.
I went ahead and installed LXDE anyways, just to see what would happen. Exact same thing, it looks like everything is about to load but only the mouse cursor shows up. My Xorg.0.log is the same, so I won't post it again.
I do get an error in the console about the openbox menu.xml file missing but I doubt that's related.

Hi, My Name Giang! I using Crystal Report Server Enterprise 9.2 in server. This application using Crystal Report Viewer to show report. I write a ASP file to show report. In client, I using IE, Avant Browser read report. In first time, this app show a message to view Active X Crystal Report Viewer Warning. If I choose Yes then app start normally.
But, I using Firefox 10 to show my report. In first time, Firefox not show message warning of Active X Crystal Report Viewer. Firefox only show 1 tab page, with blank screen.
Can't you Help me to show my report?. Do I need using 1 plugin to show Crystal Report? Thanks You very much!I think you need a viewer for Firefox, see http://www.sap.com/solutions/sap-crystal-solutions/query-reporting-analysis/sapcrystalviewer/index.epx => Thanks for answer, but i can't find viewer for Firefox.

Remote desktop results in blank screen.
So I have my mac mini (the core2duo) running OSX 10.6.4. For video it's connected to my stereo (via HDMI) which in turn is connected to my TV via HDMI. No problems so far with this.
However.
Let's say my TV and Stereo are off and I want to remote desktop into the mini. So I turn on the mini, and remote desktop to it from my macbook pro (10.6.4). I connect, however, the resulting remote desktop screen is black. This is the problem. No amount of clicking, disconnecting remotedesktop reconnecting, etc will get my remote desktop session to show the correct desktop. If I then turn on the stereo and TV, I get a halfway correct picture. I see the menu bar at the top of the TV display, but not on my remote desktop. The mouse pointer moves on the TV but not on the remote desktop session.
If I reboot the macmini, everything is fine because the stereo&TV are already on.
Any ideas?check your layers to make sure all items were deleted. Make sure there is no click box on the screen. This acts as a question especially when the reporting option is clicked

Unable to open HFM application using workspace
I am facing the follwing error after reconfiguration of EPMA from server IP address to server name.
Whenever I try to open the sample application Comma from workspace I get the following error
*"There was some communication error. Response is : http://svctag-hdwft1s:19000/hfm/GlobalWorkspaceNav/bpm/modules/com/hyperion/hfm/web/appcontainer/Adf.asp"*
My HFM is working fine.
"hfm" displayed after i explore the web http://localhost/hfm from IIS
After reading various support links for the above error I tried the following
1. Provisioning done sucessfully for admin as well as other admin users
2. Tried to register it using classic administration. Got the following message
This is a BPMA application. The functionality must be done through BPMA.
3. Reregister from Application Library -
I am able to work with the dimension library and Application Library.
I am able to deploy the application but I am not able to open it.
Please assit on this.Thanks John.
