Use the app that you view PDFs in. I use iBooks to store and view my PDFs. I can select a PDF in iBooks, ten tap the share icon and share via email.

I have scanned a document and then saved it to desktop. It has saved as a pdf. When I have then attached it to email and sent - an message comes up saying no plug ins - The recipent couldnt open files. How can I rectify this so that I can attach pdf pleaase
search the app store for PDF Writer. I've found a lot that will convert documents to PDF, but none yet that will write within the PDF. One thing you want to avoid are cloud based apps. Any of them that talk about editing on the cloud, etc, aren't going to be as standalone as you want.
It's possible, if you can take your template PDF, turn it into a word document that you can edit, you can then convert that to PDF...kinda a workaround way to do what you want. And apps that convert to PDF are much easier to find -

Thanks.First step would be to make yourself familiar with InDesign desktop version.
Whatever you intend to achieve, do it there manually. (see regular app docs or forums)
Then try to automate your steps with scripting (see scripting docs or forum)
If you can do it with a script in the desktop version, that script will likely also run in ID Server. (see server forum).
If you can specify missing features not achievable thru scripting or manual use, reconsider to write a plugin (this forum).
A seasoned C++ programmer will need a few months to learn the basics, wade thru tons of documentation etc. Alternatively consider to hire a consultant to do the development work for you.

OK. Then the next thing to try is to right-click a PDF file, select Open With, Choose Default Program, then select Reader from the list and tick the "Always use this application..." box, and click OK.

When I am in a Safari email and it has an attachment (WORD, EXCEL, PDF) and I click on the attachment to open it, it goes to download.
How can I get the document to open directly into WORD, etc. I am able to do this when I use Chrome and email.I see that mail.app works. The Preferences > General > Open safe files after downloading did not help.
I have no problem opening documents directly with Firefox and Chrome, and was looking for a comparable solution with Safari. -
Since doing firefox update when I down load an attachment from my yahoo mail it is check by Norton antivirus then I get a message that this service is unavailable.

The attachment is evidently a Word file, and the person in question evidently just clicked on the attachment in the email message. When you do this, Mail will attempt to have the associated application open the attachment.
The first problem is that only a trial version of Word is present, and the second is that the person in question is simply clicking on the attachment. First, get the attachment to the Desktop by dragging it there (or using the "Save Attachment.." button in Mail).
Once the attachment is on the Desktop, select it, then press Apple-I to open a Getinfo window for it. Use the "Open With.." pull-down to change the default application to open this type of document, then click the "Change All" button.
Text Edit will open Word documents, but the formatting might be funky. However, this should be sufficient for simply reading attachments. An iWork trial version of Pages will be able to handle it with all formatting in place, but this will only work until the trial expires.
Ideally, the person in question should acquire either MS Office or the free NeoOffice.

The first time i opened the mail, the mail loaded the attactment as pdf file and i was able to open it without any problems. But then when i tried to open it again, i watched the phone automatically turned the pdf file into winmail.dat without any of my control. Since then, i werent able to open the file anymore! And this was lucky that i was able to see it as pdf file - all other attachments i have recieved since using my new ip6 all turn into winmail.dat
this is really incovinient and frustrating for work. i cant believe i cannot just open a pdf file as a pdf file on my ip6 in the emails i recieve. I was on ip4 before this and never have anything like this happened.
Solution needed asap please.

How do I get the dialog box back when clicking on a pdf attachment in my email. Made the mistake of clicking save while the check box was ticked.

If the PDF isn't already downloaded in the email then you should be able to do so by tapping on it.
If the PDF is open within the body of the email then press and hold it and after a second or so you should get a 'Open In' pop-up; otherwise (e.g. the PDF opens into a separate screen) then tap the PDF and you should get an icon top right of a box with an arrow coming out of it - tap that and you'll get the 'Open In' option -

Because a Windows computer doesn't have Pages or anything to convert it.
Export the file from Pages into whatever format would be appropriate for your windows users (PDF, possibly Word if they have that program). Then, send that file instead. -

Some pages add their own margin to the minimum margin set in Page Setup. First you might reduce the margin here:
Alt+f (displays the classic File menu) > Page Setup > Margins & Header/Footer tab
Second, you could try using Shrink to Fit. However, if the image is a background image rather than part of the content of the page, that might not have any effect. -

I had this problem of not being able to open some files a couple of years ago and eventually was able to fix it but i can't remember how. Any help would be grateful.
The following document should help: Error: Adobe Reader could not open '*.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and was not correctly decoded.)

Hi, I have a bunch of documents in the file system and want them to be web accessible. I don't know if I need to store all of those documents in the database tables or just save the location paths of them on the server. If store in the tables, how I
