Opening an image in Photoshop CC, and select pixels with any method, the image starts to blink

The entire image is what is blinking, while the photoshop tools remain on.

I actually figured out that just changing the resolution of the screen fixed the problem. The screen resolution had to be different from what it was. Both lowering and raising it fixed the problem. Strange.

Just purchased CS4Ext and installed it. It's not showing up on my desktop as a quick entry icon. I want to simply load images from a portable hard drive (USB) to a new folder in photoshop so I can review them and begin to select and separate out some of interest to manipulate and share or get ready to print. It 's the most basic help one can need butI'm jut not clear on the workflow steps . Would appreciate someone walking me through the steps .

Let's see… First of all, this is the Photoshop Macintosh forum. Installed applications never, ever show up on your desktop as a "quick entry" icon on a Mac. Are you on a Windows PC maybe?

I have photoshop 7.0 which has stopped working on my computer. When I try to open an image in Photoshop it gives me an error message saying the image is damaged or corrupted. I can open the same image in other image programs.

The first video on https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/learn/start/photoshop.html shows you one way to do this: If you open Photoshop, just drag the image file from Explorer/Finder into the PS workspace (or even just to the PS icon).
Another way is to open Photoshop, select File > Open from the menu, and navigate to your image.

I have a Mac computer and am trying to use a Photoshop CS4 program, but after accessing my desktop files through Adobe Bridge and clicking twice on any of the pictures to get into Photoshop, instead of entering photoshop, I get on the lefthand side an enlarged version of the picture with red, yellow and green buttons on top. Any suggestions on what is wrong, or what can be corrected ?

And there is the problem. Your pictures are opening up in Mac's own Preview app.
Do you want all your jpegs to open in Photoshop, or only when you are in Bridge?
Selecting a program to open a certain file is called: File Type Association.
You can choose this at the MacOS level or the Bridge level.
Here's how to do both:
Either MacOS or Bridge has the wrong app associated with the jpeg. Let's start with MacOS
Close Bridge and Preview. Select one of your jpegs, and press Cmd i, That will bring up the file info window.
Go down to the "Open with" section of File Info.
Choose Photoshop CS4 and click on the Change All... button to apply this choice to every jpeg on your Mac.
Then open Bridge and see if double-clicking opens it in Photoshop.
Now that means all jpegs on your Mac will open in Photoshop. Maybe you don't want that.
You can set your jpegs to open in Preview when Bridge is closed.
When you open Bridge, there is Preferences > File Type Associations where you can direct Bridge to open the jpegs in Photoshop when you are viewing in Bridge.

If you follow the advice of the previous poster Julie Kmoch and then gradualy add presets back in one at a time you might be able to find the one that is causing the issue. I may be guessing, but I believe the issue has something to do with either an incompatible Preset setting (eg a older preset in newer version of LR) or a corrupt Preset.
Say you bought LR2 and imported a bunch of Presets from the internet, cuz 'Hey these effects are cool and I don't have to recreate the wheel', and then you upgraded to LR3 (not a clean install) and now one of the Presets that calls a certain slider setting or value that is different in LR3 doesn't work anymore. This might be why it throws the error, but again I am just speculating.
Location of LR Preset folder in Windows Vista/ Windows 7
C:/Users/<YourUserName>/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom/Develop Presets
If you do not see the folder AppData, you may need to change the settings in Windows Explorer to 'Show Hidden Files and Folders'. To do that in Windows Vista/ Windows 7, open a Windows Explorer window, Click on Organize, then Foler and Search Options. Then click on the View tab and select the option button next to Show hidden files, folders and drives.

Check in your Applications folder to see if you have the iDVD application there?
Do you have a new Mac that came with Lion preinstalled? If so you won't have iDVD nor iWeb. Apple has discontinued iDVD and iWeb and is no longer selling them.
In that case you'll have to purchase the boxed iLife 11 disc from a 3rd party retailier like Amazon.com: iLife 11.
Also it's best to use the Share ➙ Media Browser menu opiton in iMovie and then add the movie from the Media Browser in iDVD to the iDVD project. It provides a better qualtiy movie to iDVD.
Also follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality final product:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hi, I would like to know how can i break the value for a row and column once i have converted the image to the array. I wanted to make some modification on the element of the array at a certain position. how can i do that?
At the moment (as per attachhment), the value of the new row and column will be inserted by the user. But now, I want to do some coding that will automatically insert the new value of the row and the column ( I will use the formula node for the programming). But the question now, I don't know how to split the row and the column. Is it the value of i in the 'for loop'? I've tried to link the 'i' to the input of the 'replace subset array icon' , but i'm unable to do it as i got some error.
Please help me!

Thanks for your reply.Sorry for the confusion.
I manage to change the array element by changing the row and column value. But, what i want is to allow the program to change the array element at a specified row and column value, where the new value is generated automatically by the program.
Atatched is the diagram. I've detailed out the program . you may refer to the comments in the formula node. There are 2 arrays going into the loop. If a >3, then the program will switch to b, where if b =0, then the program will check on the value of the next element which is in the same row with b but in the next column. But if b =45, another set of checking will be done at a dufferent value of row and column.
I hope that I have made the problem clear. Sorry if it is still confusing.
