Opening and Sending Attachments

Hi
Over the past few weeks I've been having intermittent problems with trying to send attachments and also opening attachments through BT Mail online.  I spoke to the technical department and they said it have been a server problem, however it's still happening and it's constant now, I just get spinning wheel when you try to attach or open an attachment.
Please help as I have to keep resorting to gmail.
Thanks
Lynn

I have the exact same problem. I have not changed anything. This is probably a bug or something that has gone bad with Mac OS X (10.7.2). I have not found any solution for this on the web.

  • Viewing and sending attachments with gmail

I have the gmail app installed and can not view or send attachments. If I use the BB email it works fine.
Anyone know how to get the gmail app to manage attachments or is this not possible with gmail app?
    Thanks

    Hi there!
Nope -- that's one of the functions that is not available via the GMail add-on app. I think it can receive attachments just fine and that you can view (and save, etc.) them. And I think you can forward a message you received that had an attachment and the attachment will go along with it. But you cannot initiate a new message and place an attachment to it. If you like the GMail app, what you can do is create a BIS profile for that account, but configure it to not deliver do your BB...you can then use that to send from your GMail with attachments.

  • XD CARD WILL NOT OPEN AND SEND PICTURES TO PICASA FROM MY PSC 1350V PRINTER

WHEN I PUT MY XD CARD IN THE SLOT ON THE PRINTE IT USED TO PULL UP MY PHOTO PROGRAM PICASA. I T STOPPED DOING IT, AND I WOULD LIKE IT TO RESUME DOING IT. THANKS, DONSREQUEST

1 - Time Machine is my backup.
2 - Forgot to answer the boot space question:  I have 47.11 GB available on my Mac.
3 - I found iPhoto Library on my hard drive through Finder.  When I try to open it, I can choose iPhoto (won't open anything) or Preview.  It 'scanned' all of my photos and then showed them as either a list or a grid of thumbprints.
4 - I'm not doing anything with the photos in Preview -- don't think I can anyway -- but if I see the photo in Preview, I'm deleting it on my iPhone to free up memory.
5 - Should I 'save' the iPhoto Library that I found on the hard drive?  Where should I save it to?  I could put it temporarily on the desktop.  I'm still squeemish about the backup since I cannot see the photos to verify that they are there.  Mind you, I have done nothing with the external drive except to let it back up my computer, so I don't know how to navigate in it.

    Many thanks

    Hello Craig,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Despite my selecting Firefox as default browser, any link clicked goes to open IE browser, but that too does not open and sends an error message. Please advise.

I installed a HP printer on my desktop. To do this I had to temporarily discontinue some services (start/run/services.msc). The printer was installed successfully, but IE got currupted, it seems. Any link clicked went to IE instead of my default browser Firefox, but IE too would not function.
Please advise what may have happened and how do I correct it?

{Ctrl + P} and select your printer in the Printer - Name box near the top of that window.

    Shilpa,
Refer to [this|http://www.jguru.com/faq/view.jsp?EID=30251] link. It mentions that you have to use the absolute file path. I would suggest that you try using a simpler path where the path does not contain spaces.

  • Why won't Firefox on Mac using Hotmail access or send Attachments?

My OS X Mac in Hotmail is not able to access files to send Attachments using Firefox.
I can access and send file Attachments using Firefox in Gmail and other email services, and I can use Hotmail and send Attachments with Safari as my browser.
But when I'm emailing in Hotmail with Firefox, and click on Attachments, nothing happens.
JustAnswers MacMedic had me install msn Silverlight to try to clear this up, but it didn't.

Hotmail has been having a few hiccups lately I'm afraid.
If you don't see any emails when you log in, or nothing appears after some time, click in the middle of the grey bar on the left which has the word "'''Inbox'''" in it. This usually causes them to magically appear for some strange reason.
I've read on on a few blogs that Microsoft is working on the problem, but don't hold your breath.<br><br>
If this suggestion resolves the problem for you, please click the '''Solved it''' button next to this post after you log in into the forum. This will help others searching for a solution to the same problem.

  • I can create documents in Mavericks Pages and Keynote. When I attach them to an email and send to others also using Mavericks, they can't open the attachments. Why might this be?

I can create documents in Mavericks Pages and Keynote. When I attach them to an email and send to others also using Mavericks, they can't open the attachments. Why might this be?

The new Pages v5 (Mavericks) uses a new file format with the same extension name (.pages). Older versions of Pages cannot open these documents unless you first export them as Word (.docx) and send these as Mail attachments. The same is true if you originate an IOS Pages v2.01 .pages document.
You may be sending to people who chose not to install Pages v5 on Mavericks and continue to use Pages ’09 v4.3 instead — especially for the superset of features that are presently not in Pages v5.

  • Customers are not able to open my Quote form I save and send on email.

I need your help.  I have a company provided quote form that is fillable with information that I save and email to clients.  I have had many customers say that they cannot open and see the quote I have attached to their email.  What am I doing wrong or missing?  Please help.  Dan

Sorry for the delay; the new forum software does not make it easy to find old topics.  But it's getting slowly better...
The forms you are sending out are PDF docs?  How exactly are the recipients open them?
There are so many ways people receive emails that some are just bound to fail.  E.g. if users use web-based mail, they may open it in a browser like Chrome or Firefox, which both use their own PDF viewer - not the Adobe Reader plugin.
Some people may open their mail on their mobile phone, which may or may not have Adobe Reader installed.  Many other combinations are possible.
My advice: don't send e-documents as email attachments, but use a file sharing service like Adobe Acrobat.com and upload, then share the docs with the intended recipients.

  • Mail Continues to Crash and Cannot send attachments

sorry to constantly be sending my issues with mail. You all have been very helpful.
Just had my daily crash of Mail, usually twice a day and also have at least 2-3 mail recipients who cannot open my photo and graphics attachments.
Heard today on Mac OS Ken, that they are working on a 10.6.3 update to Snow Leopard.
Hope they will give Mail a very, very serious upgrade so that we can use it without daily crashes and also to use all the features (attachments) that we are need. Also hope that upgrade will not require me to contact my IT/server staffs to fix.
Mail and Apple are great, but the daily crashes tests my 30 year loyalty to Apple.
yes, I have sent this to Feedback

    Macman,
have you read a current thread with similar problems and followed the iinstructions you can find here?
First, run Disk Utilties and repair permissions.
Duplicate the folder yourhome/Library/Mail and set it on the desktop just as a precaution. Open System preferences and run Software updates to make your system current.
The see if you find any new clues in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=451730&tstart=0 and report any failures to suggestions that are mentioned there.

  • Sending attachments to BOTH/either MAC and/or Windows

So, I know how to check "windows-friendly" attachments but what if I'm sending an attachment and don't know what platform the recipient has? Or what if I'm sending to a group and perhaps there are some of each? How do I send attachments so anyone can open it?

When using Windows-Friendly, this should not prevent a Mac user from opening an attachment in most cases.
If you send attachments to Mac users with the Windows-friendly option selected, your attachment may be unusable or may be missing information (such as the preview icon for the file).
Without knowing the recipient's platform, I use Windows-Friendly which is selected by default for all my attachments. Worst that can happen is a Mac users replies indicating there was a problem with the attachment which hasn't happened yet in my experience.
