Opening app by sliding notification feature?

Before I downloaded ios7 whenever you got a notification, say a snapchat or a text message, if you swiped that notifcation once you unlocked your phone it would go straight to that app. Is that feature gone in ios7 or is my phone just not functioning correctly?

Tap the notification to go to the app it originated from.

  • New features for next CC update: open apps, contextual menus, option-click for more info...

I'd like to see the CC app gain a few features that would enable a more efficient workflow right from the app:
    1. Ability to open apps from the menu bar. I know we can stuff 'em in our Docks and open them in Spotlight, but being able to interact with our apps would be great. Perhaps each app could have its own gear/triangle, or each icon could be interactive; this would open a contextual menu from which we can open, delete, update, get help, maybe open recent docs....
    2. Option-clicking an app icon could pop up more info (e.g., version, last used, etc)
    3. Allow us to sort apps either manually or by automatic criteria (recently used, most used, recently updated, etc)

My 128 Gb iPad cannot do airplay mirroring with Apple TV 3.  It only airplays with screen off (like iPad 1), and it can only do airplay with apps which have the airplay button.  No airplay button when sliding the bottom opened apps to the right!  Note : This problem persists after HDMI cable has been changed, and Apple TV was reset.  My another iPad 4 64Gb also on the same most updated ISO has no problem.

I restarted the iPad, it is okay now!  I think it is because I have been using the smart cover for too long, without shutting down the iPad completely!  It just works fine with the airplay signal appearing again after restarting the iPad.

  • The "Resume"/"Restore Windows When Quitting and Re-opening Apps" feature issues

The "Resume"/"Restore Windows When Quitting and Re-opening Apps" features have issues with restoring windows of various applications (Safari, Preview etc.) to the corresponding Desktops on which they were before system reboot/shutdown or app restart. E.g. Preview windows appear on random Desktops after the system reboot and on the sane (N1) Desktop after Preview restart. How to fix this?

Create a new User go to System Preferences > Users & Groups > "+" (make it an admin acct) and test the feature in this new account, if it works the problem is isolated to your User and not systemwide. If it's in your user only, it's probably a Login Item or pref file.
If it's systemwide, since this feature may not have been tested on multiple Desktops

  • Can not open app store in iPad 3

why I can not open app store in iPad 3

IF you get app update notifications, are you able to use the App Store from the Updates Tab? Try closing the App Store and reset your iPad. You will not lose any data.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • I can't open App Store in my OSX Lion

Hi there, hope anyone can help
I can't open App Store in my OSX Lion. The icon somehow changed to some kind of plain paper.
Every time I open it, it comes to the dock, bouncing, but then gone and App Store is not open.
There is no notification window or something like that. I did not change anything, it just changes itself somehow.
    Anyone have similar experience?
    Hope someone can help me.
    Thank you so much

You need to restore OS X using OS X Recovery
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to restore OS X.
That will reinstall the App Store for you.

  • My Ipad 2 will not open apps that I have download from the app store but will open apps that came preinstalled.

My IPAD 2 will some times not open apps that I have down load from the app store. But will open all of the preinstalled apps.I must go to the app store and install something and then all the apps will open. I should not have to install unwanted apps to keep my IPad working.I have reset and total reset nothing sames to work.

Sounds to me like you may have an issue with the firmware, i.e. the iOS version that you are runing.  I also have an iPad 2  and sometimes have to restart it to get it to recognize and run a newly downloaded app.  And only once or twice have I had to uninstall and redownload an app that this didn't fix. I think this has more to do with the way an app has been coded more than anything else.
You might try doing a "Reset All Settings" reset and set it up as a new iPad.  You should not lose any data, apps, music, videos, etc. that you have stored on your device.  I have done this a few times when tweaking the iOS 5.0.1 firmware and never lost anything.  You do have to re-enter your ID's and Passwords for wifi.  And of course you will need to go back into settings and reset any changes you may have made to things like location and notifications.
I don't know if this will work, but if I was in your place this is the next step that I would take.

  • I want to know HOW to CLOSE Multiple Open Apps at ONCE. I keep mistakenly opening lots of things at one time.

I want to know HOW to CLOSE Multiple Open Apps at ONCE. If I have many apps going at one time and want to stop fast, surely there is a way to hit like(alt-F4 in Windows) and BAM! They all go down. I need a feature like that...

Alt+F4 in Windows only closes the active program.
Command+Q does the same thing for Mac. Just keep hitting that key combo untill all are closed.

  • Fn+F8 (''show currently open apps'') in Windows 7?

I plan to buy a Lenovo G500, which features a function on the F8 key ''show all open apps''. As I understand that the term ''apps'' is commonly associated with Windows 8, so what will happen if you press it in Windows 7? Thanks in advance.

    Hi TMHKR,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m glad to hear that you are planning to buy G500 Laptop; the Fn+F8 feature is same in Windows 7 as well as Windows 8. It performs the similar action like Winkey+TAB does displaying all the running applications and Windows opened in the computer.
Do post us back for further queries.

  • How to close all opened apps?

How do you close all opened apps? I do not think sliding the app card off the screen closes the app, so how do you completely close them?

    Direct answer: you can't.
Here is what the User Guide says:
To close an application or a screen, in Card view (see Manage
applications in Card view), throw the card off the top of the screen. If
cards are in a stack (see Work with stacked cards), you can only throw
    one card at a time.
You close the apps by throwing the card away, plain and simple.
@direstrates:  Are you asking how to kill all running apps with one command?  Only way I know how is by doing the two-finger reboot.

  • Mysterious Open Apps

    In Lion:
The Dock showed no open apps.
    Command-tab showed only the Finder.
Force-quit menu, however, listed both Preview and TextEdit as open and not hung up (not red).
I had to force-quit them from there.
    Bug? Anyone seen this before?

Lion has reworked the running process approach that John Siracusa discusses in his extensive review of MacOS X 10.7 Lion at Ars Technica (  http://arstechnica.com/apple/reviews/2011/07/mac-os-x-10-7.ars/8 ).  On this particular page of his review, he discusses this new process.  In short, Lion will reclaim processes that haven't run in a while to preserve system resources for further use.  Since Lion remembers the state of running apps, they needn't be left in system memory consuming resources when they've haven't been used in a while, and Lion will terminate the app.  If the Dock running app light feature is activated, and Lion terminates the app, the light will disappear.  Clicking on the Dock's app, will immediately restart the app and return you to its last state prior to termination.
For those who are really interested in this OS detail, I highly recommend taking a look at the complete Ars Technica review.  It took me a couple of sessions to complete, and I admit my eyes glazed over a couple of times, but it addresses many of these seemingly new "bugs" that are actually new "features."

  • Can't open app using Siri whilst driving

I've got a BMW that uses Siri Eyes Free.
I can read and send texts OK but if I try to open an app I get told that Siri can't do that whilst I'm driving.
I'm not trying to do anything that would distract me from driving - I just want to listen to an audio book and so I'm trying to open Audible.
Is this a "feature" of ios?

    Siri opens apps just fine.
I hit the button, tell Siri open audible.
    Audible app opens.
Tell Siri play that Mitchell and Webb sound, which is in the music app under audiobooks, it opens and starts playing.
I believe the problem is with the car system.

  • Is it possible to create an app to lock certain features and buttons?

Basically I want to have an app that makes the phone function like a demo retail phone. It would lock the ability to turn it off via the power switch and prevent people from messing with the settings while still being able to explore the feature base of the device.
Is this something that is possible? I'm not looking for the Guided Access feature as is has a time limit. I'm looking for something more permanent until an authorized user disables the app. I also don't want to run that config that keeps it locked in a single app as I'd like users to be able to explore features, again akin to the demo phones in Apple stores.
Google has apps that provide these features, but I need one for iOS.

I don'T (I prefer buying my apple products new, love my air) but I have a friend opening up a small shop in town and he was optioning selling used ones. I've always liked merchandising displays and thought I would help him, but people can really mess around with iphone if all the features are unlocked. Hence my question
