Opening Apps To Slow...
Has anyone noticed that after you have upgrade to 1.1.3 with the 5 apps it takes at least 1 sec delay for the text to come up in settings, calendar, photos, videos and just about every thing, after not using iPod Touch for a while and frequently. I have an 8 gig iPod Touch and have 3.7 gigs left, is it because i have less memory or is anyone experienceing this.
What Should I Do Should I Restore It Or Check It Out At Apple
Is anyone experienceing this???

Good lord, 1 sec.... how are you even finding time in the day to use it anymore. No seriously, chances are there is nothing wrong with your ipod, just because it "seems" like its taking "longer" to do something doesn't really mean anything. As long as the ipod is functioning I wouldn't bother trying to time how many seconds it takes to do something from day to day, or update to update.

Hi! My macbook pro is barely working suddenly and I dont know whats wrong. It's not allowing me to open most programs or only one at a time, even trying to type a sentence it keeps pausing for moments at a time. I have recieved error 50 messages about most tasks. This just started today and I tried to disable root user but it wasn't enabled or didn't give an option. If anyone has suggestions or similar problem today I'd really appreciate it! Thanks,
AmberHi Amber,
Any changes recently, hardware or software?
Do you have at least 15% free space on your HD?
Is your RAM being recognized? (Apple menu > About This Mac > More Info > Hardware > Memory)
Have you looked in Activity Monitor?
Sometimes a process can run amok and use more of the CPU than it should, potentially causing a slowdown and/or heat issues and/or other issues. To check on this, first use your Mac as you normally would, the longer the better (checking this right after starting up may not show you anything). After you’ve used your Mac for awhile (again, the longer the better), go to Applications > Utilities > open Activity Monitor > in the top menu at right, select All Processes in the drop down menu > click on the column heading titled % CPU (this will update continuously, showing the percentage each process is using) > toward the bottom left of the window, click on CPU (this will show % Idle, which will also tell you how much of the CPU is being used).
How much RAM do you have?
One way to get an idea whether more RAM will help or not, is to check Page outs and Swap used. First, use your Mac as you normally would, the longer the better (checking this right after starting up isn’t likely to show you anything). After you’ve used your Mac for awhile(again, the longer the better), go to Applications > Utilities > open Activity Monitor > in the top menu at right, select All Processes in the drop down menu > near the bottom of the window click on System Memory. If Page outs is more that about 10% of Page ins, and/or Swap used is large, chances are good that adding RAM will help. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1342
Exactly which MBP do you have?
Have you repaired permissions? Repaired disk? Reset SMC? -
Problem description:
(MacBook Pro 15” late 2008, OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 installed, no pending updates) computer is running very slow - takes 2-3 minutes to open apps such as Pages, even when no other apps are open. Randomly freezes and becomes unresponsive, requiring forced power down. Randomly logs off. Removed Kodak AIO software via Clean My Mac2, but BonjourAgent still there and requesting access. Cleaned weekly with Clean My Mac2 and running Sophos AntiVirus. 2GB memory installed. Currently 169.99 GB available of 249.2 GB capacity.

Slow performance after installing Yosemite on an older Mac is often caused by inadequate memory. Although you can install the upgrade on a Mac with 2 GB of memory, experience has shown that at least 4 GB is needed for full performance.
Select About This Mac from the Apple menu. If you have less than 4 GB of memory, and your model has upgradable memory, install as much as it can take, or at least that much. Any reputable RAM vendor will have a web form in which you can select the Mac model and be directed to compatible parts.
Memory in the MacBook Air is not upgradable. If that's what you have, you should restore the previous system from a backup, or replace the machine. Ask if you need guidance.
The Etrecheck report clearly shows that SylvieRose has a Macbook Pro, not a Macbook Air and that there are only 2 GB RAM installed. The Etrecheck report can be very informative if one takes the time to examine it.

Is anyone facing the similar problem of visible lag while opening app with 3G data on? It seems apple has made 5s slow to improve iphone 4 performance.5s was very smooth on 7.0.6 even with 3G data on. Is this a bug? Is apple going to fix this soon?
I have same Problem. I tried all options - Reset All Settings, Erase Content & reset all settings, Upgrated to IOS8.1, Restore using iTune. But problem persists.
When I turn Cellular Data or Wifi ON, then there is a lag while opening the Apps. But If I turn Data/Wifi off, phone becomes super fast. I have checked with my friends. They are not facing this issue. Not sure if Apple know this. -
I have replaced Ram, formatted Harddrive and reinstalled Yosemite, the install took 11 hours. The boot up takes ages and when opening apps I get spinning wheels and they take ages to open. Even typing this the text is delayed, please assist:

Mavericks is to much slow to open apps
I did a clean instalation on my Macbook Pro 13" mid 2012. My computer has i5 core, 8G of RAM and 500G of HDD. Yes, I don't have SSD, I have HDD.
However, the Mavericks is to much slow to open apps. Any app. How can I change this situation?
The both Linux and the Windows 7 are fastter then Mavericks.
The Apple must resolve this problem! Thanks for your replies.
Eric Root: I going to do it;
w7ox: I installed the system15 days ago. I've had this same problem with Mountain Lion. I've thought the reason was incremental installation.
petermac87: Thank you for your suggestion. My computer is not Mid 2012, but late 2011.

My ipad 2 is really slow and it wont open app store or safari
my ipad 2 is really slow and it wont open app store or safari but i dont understand why?
Or a reset of the iPad?
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
After Upgrade to Yosemite, all apps are slow.
I upgraded to Yosemite and all applications are slow. ( as e.g.. starting to type in this box give me beachball for 2 seconds initially) A big difference in speed from Mavericks to Yosemite. Opening system preferences takes 3 seconds to load, and clicking on Users & Groups takes 25 seconds to open.
I do not have fire vault enabled. I did a safe boot and some apps did appear to open faster. Also did a repair disk and rebooted. No change. When Safari is open it takes 5 seconds to open a new window. I ran EtreCheck and the report is as follows;
Thanks for any help;( After pasting the EtreCheck text file, I clicked on this box to add the Thanks... , it took 2-3 seconds for the beach ball to stop spinning.)

In other words when Setup Assistant appears, de-select "Applications", "Computer and Network Settings" and "Other files and folders". That way you will eliminate the possibility of reinstalling potentially incompatible software from your existing Mac or its TM backup. It's best to create new printer queues and preferences anyway.
Your venerable HP 1012 will probably work without any difficulty but if you need its driver download it here. If it gives you trouble try OS X's generic PostScript driver.
After configuring your user account, install original versions of your essential software from their original sources. In other words if you installed them via download from the developer's website, download them again. You might need license keys so gather them. Obviously the Mac App Store makes things easy since anything you obtain from there is already linked to your Apple ID and is easily reinstalled by going to your Purchases page.
Don't reinstall things like AppCleaner, CleanMyMac, Western Digital "Smartware" or any of that junk. You don't need it. MacFUSE is outdated. Research Prolific Technology for potential updates for their serial controller. The one you have may work, or not, but you should re-download its driver.
Consider abandoning Microsoft altogether and migrating to better solutions such as Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. They are all free with a purchase of a new Mac and are far more integrated with OS X than anything Microsoft will ever be able to accomplish.
The Burr-Brown USB device is unknown to me, so research TI's website for support if you need it.
If your essential software was distributed on optical media, you can use OS X's "DVD or CD sharing" feature to remotely mount the older iMac's optical drive so that you can install its software. It will work as though that drive were physically installed on your new Mac. Having said that, anything that was distributed on optical media is highly likely to have been outdated a long time ago.
If your essential software is old, orphaned, no longer supported, or is no longer available, meaning you have the only viable copy, the only option is to transfer it from the TM backup or older Mac. In that case be very cognizant of the likelihood for incompatibility, and have a plan for uninstalling it should it cause adverse effects. Creating a new TM backup is the way to do that. A new external HD dedicated to the new Mac is a cheap investment. When you are certain you no longer require the older Mac's TM backup, you can erase it and use it as an additional, redundant TM backup or "clone" repository – whichever you decide is best for your backup needs. -
How can I turn-off the apps which I have opened once in ISO 7.0.2. In previous version of ISO it was easy to turn-off the opened apps by double clicking on home button and then click and hold on respective apps then click on cross sign but in this version I could not do so and my iPad appears slower.
Close inactive apps
1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
2. Swipe the app's windows upwards to close
3. The app will fly off the screen -
I installed an update and now I can't open App Store or iCal.
I installed an update, but now when I try to open App Store or iCal, I get this error message:
"App Store cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure App Store works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X."
I've tried restarting the computer, and I read that removing the programs from your dock and then putting them back could fix it, but neither worked. What's wrong and how do I make it work?Same problem here. In fact, it started when I installed Mac OS 10.8.1. Since, everything was working super slow. Tried all the tricks that I've read here but nothing worked.
Had to restore my whole Mac from Time Machine. Then everything started to work smoothly except for one thing: App Store cannot open anymore. So I can't install the new Mac OS 10.8.2.
I've downloaded it from Apple, but it won't install. It says Mac 10.8.2 failed due to an error.
I just don't know what to do. So far, Mac OS 10.8.1 has been a giant nightmare to me. I'm a graphic designer who works on Macs for years and years so it's not that I don't know how it works.
I'm hopeless now. -
IPad 1 updates makes apps run slower and crash
Hello everyone,
I have 34 updates in the app store until now, i always updated everything to the latest but noticed things are getting slower and very crashy, the updates are obtimized for newer ipads so likewise it gets slower on the old ipad, i dunno why it notifies an ipad one user to update?? Its not for me!
So, should i keep updating apps?? Sometimes i think that its intended by apple to get old ipads not to work properly to get me think about a new ipad, well devices like ipad is not something to discard after a while you know, i will stick with it until it burns or somethin :PAs far as I know - you can't update apps if they are for the new iOS only. The apps shouldn't update and you should get a message that the updates will not work on your iOS.
Tap on app icon that needs to be updated and read the description first. Don't tap on "Update". Read the requirements first. If the primary reason for the update is that it is optimized for iOS 6, then don't update it - even it even can be updated that is.
Some basic troubleshooting might help when the iPad gets "crashy". Try these and see if they help.
Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad and make a fresh start. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or try this ....Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
My computer has gone haywire since upgrading to Mac OS 10.9 and adding Mavericks. Mail was a big problem with my not being able to read messages, but now there has been a mail upgrade to solve that. However, still cannot open App Store from my Dock and cannot open Software Update from the apple menu. Lots of other screwy things going on and Apple seems of no help to try and resolve these issues. Anyone with similiar problems or issues?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -
upgrading from snow leapord to mavericks, i couldn't opened app store, messenger, ibook,FaceTime, maps and other. please help
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.
Safe Mode
Safe Mode - About
If that doesn't work, do a backup. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then reinstall the OS.
