Opening /Attaching a BDS document to an HCM form (Adobe interactive)

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to attach a document in the Adobe Interactive form used for Employee recruitment process.
The document will be stored in the user's local machine.
We are using HRASR_DT to design the recruitment process.
We are not able to open the document from HCM form.
Can anybody help us resolving the same?
~BiSu

Hello,
I don´t understand when/who/how do you attach files. I also don´t understand what does not work: who cannot read the attachments? The machine/SAP system or the user? In the step after the step when the attachments were attached? Orin any stpe? Please elaborate a little. This seems like a difficult problem (at least for me) and any additionl info could help a lot here.

  • OTM can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx)

    With more and more use of Word Document(*.docx) (version 2007). OTM (Oracle Test Manager) can create an attachment with it, but can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx). Is this a problem for anyone else? Any wok around?
    Thanks
    Katherine

    I am using OTM version 9.2 and the Word document (*.docx) attachment can be opened in this.
    For being able to open a docx file, try to attach an word document from the file option in the Requirements, Test or Issue tabs in OTM , once you upload the file, please check if location is " in Database" Else click update DB and upload the document.
    Once the attachment is attached to the Attachment section in the right pane, clicking on the attachment will open the *.docx document.
    This has worked for me.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error when opening attachment in DRL Document

    Hello all,
    I am working on giving read access to DRL for a specific group of people. I have been able to allow them to see the entire taxonomy of the DRL. When they try to access the attachment in the document they get an error message.
    Any suggestions or is this a SR? This has never been an issue for us in the past.
    Thanks,

  • Open attachements in PDF from mobile

    Hello,
    I created a PDF with some attached files and links (in fact annotations) to these files:
    When I open the PDF from my computer with Acrobat Reader I'm able to open all files either by clicking directly on the "Attachments" column or clicking to the links (annotations).
    But when I try to do the same on mobile (iOS, Android or WP) via the Acrobat Reader application, it doesn't work:
    I can't access to the attachments column
    When I click to the links (annotations), nothing happen
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    PS: This question was posted on stackoverflow too https://stackoverflow.com/questions/27859349/open-attachements-in-pdf-from-mobile
    Gerald.

    Hi Gerald,
    Adobe Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) support PDF and non-PDF attachments.
    If a PDF document contains attachments, Adobe Reader for iOS shows the attachments icon in the bottom bar.
    When you tap the icon, Adobe Reader will display the attachments.
    You can tap an individual file to view it in Adobe Reader.
    There are three different hyperlink actions that the desktop version of Adobe Reader supports.
    Go to a page view (within the same document)
    Open a web page
    Open a file
    Adobe Reader mobile products support the first two but does not support opening a PDF file or any other types.
    Please let us know if  you have additional questions.  Thank you.

  • HCM Forms

    Hi Experts,
    1) Can you please explain what are the benefits of using HCM forms over Interactive adobe forms developed using ABAP
        workbench or Netweaver Developer Studio?
    2) When Adobe forms can be independently desinged and developed, why do we need HCM Froms? The interactive forms
        developed using ALD can be dirtectly plugged in to the workflows. How exactly will HCM form bring benefits to the table?
        Please Explain.
    2) What all changed in EHP3 and EHP4 and what is their Impact on WebDynoproJava based applications in the ESS MSS
        business package?
    3) Will ESS MSS EhP4 have all the applications in web dynpro ABAP only or will still continue to have the Java stack supported
        by SAP? If java stack is supported, then what will be the kind of impact of developing/ customizing the ESS MSS applications
        using web dynpro java?

    winmail.dat files usually mean the email has been sent in rich text format - you could either the person who sent it to send it in a different format e.g. plain text or HTML, or there are a few apps in the store that support it (search for winmail.date in the store).

    How do I attach a file to a Mail doc without the file being opened in the Mail document?

    You will (often) see a preview of the attachment, depending upon the file type.  To get rid of the preview: control click on the attachment select "View as icon".
    (What the recipient of your message sees is dictated by that person's email application.  If you want to make sure the person gets an attachement which is not previewed, you can zip it (control-click, "Compress...") and then attach the zipped file(s).  Or you can try something like Attachment Tamer.)

  • If I attach a scanned document to a mail, it's impossible for the persons receiving my mail to open the file

    I'm a MacBook Pro user and scanning documents with an hp Officejet 7500A.
    If I send a mail with an attached file, SCANNED document, the person receiving my mail will be totaly unable to open it.
    If I send the very same mail, always with my Mac computer and attaching the very same scanned document but using my professional mailbox wich is NO MAC MAIL, things are working perfectly well.mail.
    Thanks for your help,
    Ph.

    Try right clicking the file on your desktop, and compressing it, then send it to the intended recepient. Of course you will want to advise them to extract the document from the *.zip file afterwards. A ZIP file is sort of like a briefcase for other data, you put it inside and send that fully intact for the other person to open. Good luck, let me know if it fails.

  • Open Data Object -  Open File attachment within pdf document

    I am trying to build a script which will open file attachments embedded in a pdf document.
    I have used the following javascript to list all embedded files within a document so I can retrieve the name
    var d = this.dataObjects;
    for (var i = 0; i < d.length; i++)
    console.println("Data Object[" + i + "]=" + d[i].name);
    The console reported:
    Data Object[0]=MTP-300-X-1210_A.pdf
    Data Object[1]=MTP-300-X-1240_A.pdf
    I then used the following script to open the file
    this.openDataObject("MTP-300-X-1210_A.pdf");
    Console reports back as follows and does not open the file:
    [object Doc]
    Can anyone please offer assistance in how to open an embedded pdf attachment within a document?
    Many thanks!

    Hi George,
    I have used the same method app.openDoc to open attachments using a path associated with my computer.  However, as you know, the method does not work if the pdf containing the attachment is located on a different computer.  The app.openDoc method throws an error becuase the path is not valid.
    I am trying to get the following code to work with no success:
    var cFilePath = "|" + this.path + "|U:photo.pdf"';   // photo.pdf is the attachment
    app.openDoc ({cPath: cFilePath});
    The debugger throws an error.
    However, if I take the content of the variable cFilepath and instert it as an argument within cPath parameter as a string literal, the app.openDoc method returns the docObject.
    What's going on here?  shouldn't the variable cFilePath work?  Or do I need to specify a data type for the variable?  Any thoughts would be helpful.  I am using Windows 7, Adobe Acrobat X Standard.

    So I've been trying to open some Microsoft Word Documents and it says it can't be opened because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. What do I do about this?

    Workarounds:
    1.  Restore the OS X that you formerly used to run Word 2004;
    2.  Partition your hard drive or attach an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard (and Rosetta) so that you can "dual-boot" into Microsoft Word 2004;
    3.  Upgrade to Word 2011 or use an alternative program; or
    4.  The solution I use: Install Snow Leopard (and Rosetta) into Parallels 7 or 8:

  • Open attachment

    Hi,
              I am using a servlet to open attachment in JavaMail. Part of the servlet
              I deal with attachment part is as following:
              if(disposition.equals(mbp.ATTACHMENT)) //mbp
              is MimeBodyPart object
              ServletOutputStream out =
              httpResponse.getOutputStream();
              InputStream is = mbp.getInputStream();
              filename = mbp.getFileName();
              try{
              ContentType ct = new
              ContentType(sct);
              httpResponse.setContentType(ct.getBaseType());
              catch (ParseException pe)
              pe.printStackTrace();
              httpResponse.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;
              filename="+filename);
              Read file content.........
              Here is the problem I am having now: In IE, when click on attachment
              link, an Open/Save as dialog will be poped up. If select Save As option,
              the default filename appeared in the Save as dialog box is my servlet
              name and the file type is .html, the content in this file is my current
              html page, instead of real attached file content. But it is ok to open
              the file, the content is attached file content.
              Any body has any good suggestions?
              Thanks.
              Meian

    Hi Daniel
    Assuming you still have PowerPoint installed on your system, drag the attached file out of the mail window onto the desktop. Select the file by clicking on it once in the Finder then select Get info from the File menu. Click the disclousure triangle to expand the Open with: section if it is not already showing. Use the pop up menu to choose PowerPoint, use the last 'Other...' option if PowerPoint is not listed and navigate to it through the standard browse dialogue box. (Select 'Enable ALL applications.' if necessary)
    Click Add when you find PowerPoint.
    This will relink this file to open with PowerPoint by default in the future.
    To make all documents with the same extension (.pps) also open with PowerPoint by default, click the 'Change All...' button in the Get info window.
    Cheers, Stephen.
    Edit: Yeah, what Jeff said. (Note to self: Must be more concise...) lol
