Opening Auto Tune EFX VST
I have downloaded the Auto Tune EFX VST plug in demo
I have chosen Garage Band 4.1.2 as the application to use it with.
Does anyone know how to open up and use Auto Tune EFX once I get Garage Band opened?
I am not familiar with plug ins.

... well that is peculiar!
I would've sworn blind that I'd been using VSTs all that time, but on closer inspection it seems that each plugin is indeed an AU.
Which is the most confusing thing for me because I never consciously said 'Install as AU'. I am officially stumped as to how I ever got anything working!!!

Auto Tune 5 Demo + Garage Band Issues
Okay so I have an issssue. I have been using Garage Band 3 and trying out the Auto Tune 5 AU Plug-in Demo for the last few days. I had it assigned to be used in one of my tracks in a project i've been working on. Now, the demo has expired. When I attempt to open my project (that uses auto-tune), an auto-tune dialogue comes up informing me that the demo has expired. Okay cool, but then after I exit this box Garage Band has an error and exits.
I'm not sure what to do at this point, as I have deleted every trace of auto-tune using spotlight, both in the plug in folders and in the original downloaded files.hmm i believe i already deleted the folder from there. i checked it out and its non existant.
when i search both terms in spotlight: antares, and auto-tune, both return with no results.
any other tips? is there a way to manage the plug ins with garage band within the program?
NOTE: I am able to access garage band if I enter a project that does NOT use the auto-tune functionality. -
Solution to Auto Tune 4 showing unsupported in Audition
Hello there,
Recently I updated Auto Tune to the latest Version 4.3 DirX. Although there were no problems with other Audio Editors on my computer, after I refreshed the effects loop in Audition 1.5, Auto Tune was shown as unsupported. I searched the Adobe data base and could see others have had this problem, but I have been using Auto Tune for quite a while, and this was the first sign of a problem. One of the posts had found a solution by editing the Registry, (which proved to be correct). However, I decided to email Antares first. Antares replied quickly with the solution,(which worked), and explained that the problem occurred with the change from Cool Edit 2 to Adobe Audition, and that the problem is specific to Audition. So, here is what to do if you are affected by this......
This fix should only be attempted if you are comfortable working with the Windows Registry.
(1) Close Adobe Audition.
(2) Open the Registry by going to the Start Menu, selecting Run, then typing regedit, and clicking OK.
(3) Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, go to the key
\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Audition\Plugin\DirectX\
(4) Locate the Data Item whose Name is (02A06B08-744E-40E3-8B78-E45D71750DC8)
(5) Delete that item.
(6) Close the Registry.
(7) Run Adobe Audition.
(8) In the Edit View, Refresh the effects List.
All should now be well.

I have windows xp sp3, run Mcaffee security software- when I open I-Tunes it does open however it will not connet to the I-Tunes store. Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time. -
I have a iPad were I have opened I tunes match ect linked to my pc I have since found my old ipod classic which I have loads of music on but that was all linked to a mac which I don't have anymore, is there anyway I can sync them both without loosing my music, if I plug my ipod into PC it won't read it
You need to transfer the music from your iPod on to your iTunes library on your PC, since that is where you are currently syncing and where you are signed into iTunes Match. It doesn't matter that you were previously syncing it with a Mac, and you won't need to reinstall iTunes on your PC. But you will have to use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer any music not purchased from the iTunes store from your iPod to your iTunes library. Here's another guide on this, which is shoter and you may find easier to follow: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive. Also, if you're using iTunes 11, go to View>Show Sidebar. This will make it easier to follow along with these guides.

Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

I have moved my itunes library from old computer to portable hard drive and then on, into new laptop, in music file. However I am then unable to open I-Tunes when holding down the shift button as directed in step 4 - this means I am not seeing the library choice box and cannot synch the tunes into ITunes library - any tips please?........Alan
Close iTunes. Click the icon to launch iTunes and immediately press and hold down the left shift key. Keep holding until prompted to choose or create a library. If iTunes opens normally, close it, and try again.

I opened i Tunes on my mac and while i see the songs in some of my playlists they will not play. The computer says the song could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it? When i do it won't play.
You will need to locate where you itunes library is and then relink one of the songs, itunes will do the rest. So if your itunes library is on an external hard drive or something like that. When you get the error message click yes you would like to locate it. then navigate to the external hard drive where the itunes libray is and locate that particular song. Once you have linked one, itunes will ask if you would like it to locate the rest, click yes and it will find the rest of the files if they are in the same location.

After I had downloaded the I tunes u ap, I could no longer use I tunes as I was always prompted to open I tunes in the u ap , but there is no alternative given to use normal I tunes. I tried deleting the ap, resetting my I pad, and turning it completely off and on. Neither can I now open music and go to the apple store from there, as I get an error message to say that I cannot connect to the apple store. I am connected to a wifi, and other devices connect ok, so it's not a problem of connectivity

keep getting error7 ( windows error 1114) when trying to open i tunes. If i uninstall/reinstall will i lose my library/purchases etc. Sorry not very computer literate so easy instructions appreciated.

Screen resolution changes every time I open I-Tunes
The screen resolution changes when I open I-Tunes. I have to go into control panel every-time to adjust the resolution to make the print and screen layout small enough so its entirety is captured which then allows me to use I-Tunes.
