Opening c4d files in Photoshop CC 2014
In Photoshop CC I was able to open a C4d file to create UV maps for use in Element 3d plugin for After Effects.
I have just tried to the same in Photoshop CC 2014 and a message is displayed that Photoshop does not recognise this type of file. Does anybody know if this was removed on purpose or just not built in time for the release of CC 2014.
Save it in Illustrator as AI file or as PDF/X-4.
You can place it in Photoshop as Smart Object or linked Smart Object or Open it, which would rasterize content.
Illustrator has also a PSD export which allows you to export AI files to PSD, under specific circumstances they are even editable.
Don't use EPS anymore, as it is an old outdated file type which does not support transparency and not color management.

I can't open Lightroom (5.7.1) files in Photoshop CC 2014. When I Right Click and select Edit In Photoshop CC 2014 nothing happens. I have uninstalled CC 2014 and Lightroom but no change.
What happens if you start up PS CC 2014, first, and then try the Edit In?

Lightroom 5.5 can't open nef files in photoshop cc 2014
I have a subscription to both Lightroom 5.5 and Photoshop CC 2014 through the Cloud.
Today I attempted to open a .nef file from Lightroom in Photoshop by the usual method of right-clicking on the file in Lightroom and selecting Edit In> Edit in Adobe Photoshop CC 2014.
After doing this Photoshop opens but then nothing happens, the file doesn't open as it used to in Photoshop CC previous to the upgrade to Photoshop CC 2014.
I've re-booted my Windows 7 computer and tried again and still none of my .nef files will open in Photoshop.
Can you offer a solution to my problem?

In the mean while, i would suggest you to follow the suggestions mentioned under the below article and check if that helps.

Bridge doesn't open tiff files in photoshop
When I click a TIFF file in Adobe Bridge, the files is opened in a Windows viewer, not in Photoshop as I prefer.
I appreciate your feedback, Ron, but although your answer is technically correct, it doesn't give the full story. What I found via Adobe Support is that I needed, in Adobe Bridge, to (1) go to Edit > Preferences> File associations; (2) Scroll down to TIFF (.tif, .tiff); (3) click the down arrow then click "Browse..."; (4) Find Photoshop.exe and select it through this path (in my Windows computer): C: > Program Files (x86)> Adobe> Adobe Photoshop CC> Photoshop.exe; (5) Then, press "Open", note that Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 is listed next to TIFF and click "OK".

Whats is the the problem with OBJ files in Photoshop CC 2014?
What is up my fellow adobinites"!? Well I want to start off with, "I Have A Dilemma". When I open a .obj file in Photoshop CC 2014 There is an error every time but in reaction to the outcome, I torrented Photoshop Cs6 for educational and testing purposes and it worked flawlessly. It was the "Plus" version so yeah. Also the .obj file worked in After Effects CC 2014 and on the other hand I think Photoshop just got 3d features in I am correct.

.CR2 files crashing PhotoShop CC (2014)
Hi! I'm trying to open some .CR2 files (Canon Raw Files) in PhotoShop CC (2014) on OS X 10.9.3 and whenever I do, PhotoShop crashes entirely.
So far I've tried reinstalling PhotoShop entirely (from Creative Cloud), reinstalling after deleting the Plugins folder in /Library/Application Support/Adobe, reinstalling after deleting the "Camera Raw" and "CameraRaw8" folders in that same directory, and nothing has worked yet. This is the error that I'm given after the crash:

After that I booted back up the regular way, reinstalled PhotoShop and everything was fine. .cr2's open as expected. Hope this helps someone else out.

I can't open .avi files in Photoshop CS5
I used to be able to open .avi files in Photoshop just fine, but I’ve just tried opening one again after a couple of months and I can’t. It’s just black blankness. I have no problem with .mp4 files, but unfortunately, most of the videos I'm trying to make gifs out of are in .avi format.
Is it because I've updated QuickTime? Or is it that Adobe CS no longer supports .avi files? It says here that Photoshop CS6 supports the .avi format.

Can't open CR2 files in photoshop and camera raw
This weekend I rented a Canon 5D Mark iii. I have downloaded the files and all of the thumbnails in camera raw say CR2 and when I try to open Photoshop does not recognize this product.
I have:
Photoshop CS4
Camera Raw CS4
Canon 5D Mark ii
I have checked my updates folder and all my updates are current. Do I need to upgrade to CS5 or is there a way around this?Hi I recently had a problem opening CR2 files in PHotoshop cs4. I had to reinstall into a new computer, so obviously it installed the basic programme and not the updates.
After trying everything, even calling the help desk, there was apparently nothing that can be donw as they no longer support cs4.
I kept trying and found a you tube video, which i cant find again to add the link but i followed the link and with what I did earlier I can now open CR2 files in my photoshop cs4
I found the relevany update that I needed to install and downloaded it, camera raw 5.2 ( Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Camera Raw 5.2 update ) this is the one for the Canon 5d Mk2
After downloading it would not update the progeramme so I was in the same possition, but i noticed the files were there and i just needed to put them in the right place in photoshop so carried on looking for were to put the Plus In.
This led me to the video.
To the point.
Download the update and save to a location where you will remember.
open Adobe photoshop and go to "edit"
Them " Preferences "
then "General "
Then " Plus-Ins"
At the top you will see " Add Plug-Ins Folder " Check this box then navigate to the "win64" ( this is because mine is a windows 64 bit computer and the download is specific ) and Choose it.
Shut down photo shop and try to open a raw.
Bridge doesnt work for some reason but im going to keep looking.

I can not open any files in Photoshop CS3. It has been working fine. I was using camera raw and did not open the file and now can't open any file in photoshop. I reinstall it photoshop and it did not work. I reinstall install window xp worked fine until I tried camera raw. Canon (xti) Only cs3 is on the computer now

Without proper system information and other details like what files you work with nobody can tell you much. From corrupted prefs to issues with your PS swap file to actual problems with the fiel storage this could be anything.

I am running PS6 and want to open and edit AVI files. When I try to do that I get an error message saying "the video file cannot be opened" . This seems to apply to ALL avis - yet I can open and edit MP4, MMV etc. I installed Gspot to track whether it was a codec issue and when I try to open ANY file I get this error message : "Warning: DirectShow crashed while GSpot was attempting to obtain information about a codec. This is usually due to damaged, misconfigured, conflicting, or poorly written codec drivers. It is possible, perhaps even likely, that other media players will crash when they attempt to play this file as well, as most of them will also use DirectShow. GSpot was able to intercept the crash, and has attempted to identify the codec or filter involved; uninstalling or reinstalling this codec or filter may solve the problem. The codec was tentatively identified as: C:\Windows\system32\imaadp32.acm Unknown video codec #11" I have NO idea where to go from here. I see a site to download the "imaadp32.acm" codec but what about the "Unknown video codec #11". What the heck is that and what do I do about it. Any help would be appreciate, Cliff

I did re-set the prefs - but to no avail
I checked and my graphics driver and audio is all up to date.
No sure how to verify Windows Media Player's hardware acceleration options. I opened WMP Options /Perfformance tab and under Cd the DirX tab is checked.
Running Windows Vista - so does the same caution apply regarding a re-install of Windows Media Components and DirectX ?
Appreciate your help with this somewhat frustrating issue. I am converting some old 8mm film to avi with the hope of doing some edits then burning to DVD.
