Opening Editor Elements 12

I can not open elements editor any more. It is locked to only open the editor. I have been advised to delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File. I can't get there, however Help!

Hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys and keep all three pressed whilst launching the editor.

You would get the redemption code, or perhaps even the serial number, from whomever you purchased the software from, apparently Amazon, so talk to them. This wouldn’t be the first time they’ve sold something that didn’t have all the numbers needed to license it.
A redemption code is something that is usually on the inner disc packaging if you purchase the media in a box, and there is a barcode on the outside of the packaging that must be scanned at the checkout register to activate the hidden inner code so you can redeem it at home on that website. This is what happens if you buy PSE from a brick-and-mortar store like Best Buy. I don’t’ know what happens if you purchase the downloaded version as I have never done that.
A redemption code is 24-digits of letters and numbers that you enter into a website to get a serial number, once and only once. The serial number of only 24-digits, no letters, is what you enter into the software during the install or when you run it and it asks if you want to register or run in a trial mode—whatever the exact phrasing is.
In any case it sounds like you don’t have either a redemption code or serial number—although perhaps something is listed on the purchase confirmation or your account online at Amazon or even in an e-mail from Amazon.

Adobe premiere Elements 12 will not open editor

I had Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on my laptop and worked fine. Decided to upgrade to Elements 12 and did but version 12 will not open editor, says sign in, I sign in but no editor. Organizer opens and loaded my Photos and videos. I purchased full retail version for download. My laptop runs windows 8.1 and has an Intel Core i5 dual core processor and 4GB ram.

Have you gone to Computer/Manager/Event Viewer/Windows Logs/Applications and looked for error entries that appear to be associated with this problem?
Did you purchase Photoshop Elements 12 as well as Premiere Elements 12, and does Photoshop Elements 12 Full Editor open whereas Premiere Elements 12 will not open to its Expert or Quick workspaces?
You have probably tried it, but can you open to the Premiere Elements workspaces from the Elements Organizer workspace?

Lightroom open in elements editor raw question.

I have just got lightroom 3.3 and it imports my .dng raw files no problem. if I use the save metadata to file and try to open in elements editor it open the file as a .tiff. instead of opening it as a raw file with ACR. I think the roblem is the metadata is not being stored in the same directory as the image file but I can't see where to check/change this. I assume that is what is causing this to happen.

Editor will not open in elements 7

I had to reboot my computer to factory settings and installed El 7 several times and editor will not open. Error message elements editor has stoped working. I have installed it in my sons computer and no problem. Can any one pull me out of this black hole?????????????

Hi, Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below: Solution 1:1. Close Elements.2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences. Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list. Solution 4: On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:    Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Locales\\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.    Now launch PSE and check if it works. PS Elements 6 suddenly stopped opening Editor

Elements 8 won't open editor

I've been using elements 8 for about a year and all of a sudden as of today I can't open editor. I get an error message that says " Adobe has detected that the application ...... has unexpectedly quite" - crash report. No matter what I do I can't get into editor to edit a photo. How can I resolve this problem? Any help is appreciated.

What computer operating system are you using? If Windows go to:
C:\Users\99jon\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Online Services
Inside the Online Services folder delete the Photoshop Elements 12.0.0 folder.
Re-launch Organizer and OLS should get recreated.
N.B substitute your user name for 99jon. If you can’t find AppData you may first need to enable the showing of hidden system files.
Follow these steps to display hidden files and folders.
Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.

Yes I found a solution. Press CtrlAltdelete. Now opens the activity
manager (I´m from Sweden and dont know the english name of it). Now you
stop Photoshop Elements that runs in the background and then install the
program.
I hope it will work.

Problem: Elements 12 insists that I license this software every time I open Editor.

Situation: I installed a previously used E12 program onto new WIN8 desktop. Everything was fine. A few days ago it insisted (and continues to every time I open Editor) to license this software. I enter serial #, and I’m allowed to proceed.
Hint: I purchased this new PC because my old one (WIN7) semi-fried. I tried to deactivate E12 on that old PC but no such option appeared. So I uninstalled E12 from my old PC. I also run this license on my laptop (WIN8); it continues to work fine.
I also use Lightroom 5.5.
Question: How do I “legitimate” my license on my new PC so that Adobe recognizes it and doesn’t shut me down?

The reason I asked about the cleanup is that in the past we have seen one of the registry cleaners incorrectly removing the serial number.
Since everything works fine on your laptop it must mean that there are no problems with your serial number or Adobe ID.
When you talk about "pared down all the gobbldegook in Start Up" do you recall if you had the problem before then?
Can you remember what you removed from the start ups? I tend to use something like msconfig and disable items rather than delete them. That way you can always reinstate things?
Have you done the same paring on your laptop?
I'm wondering if there is an Adobe process that needs to run to and which you have now stopped.
