Opening editor in PSE 11

I am unable to open editor from any screen. This is a new install. Thanks. PSE 11.

Hey Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
5. Try launching it directly from the PhotoshopElementsEditor .exe.
6. Please check in task manager if PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe is already running . If so then kill it and then relaunch elements editor.

Cannot open Editor in PSE 8

Have just changed computers to one with Windows 7. Previously have PSE operating on old computer but when I tried transfering it to the new computer whilst it loaded, when attempting to use, it came up with PSE elements Editor has stopped working, with the problem description being APP Crash. Was subsequently advised by support that PSE 7 was not compatible with Windows 7, and that I had to upgrade to PSE 8.
Have now upgraded to PSE 8 and its coming up with exactly the same problem namely that Editor has stopped working and the description of the problem was an APP.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix?

Adobe customer support is incompetent and gave you the wrong answer. Many, many people have reported that PSE 7 does run well on Windows 7 -- it's just that Adobe doesn't provide customer support for it.
Regarding PSE 8, I assume you installed it from the installation disk or the download from Adobe.com? If so, see this troubleshooting FAQ:

Unfortunately, there are many reasons why the PSE Editor might crash, and often it is hard to diagnose quickly the reason for the crash.

Can't open editor!

Can't open editor in PSE 10. Organizer will open but not editor. Using Windows 7.

Bypass the Unwelcome Screen by creating Desktop shortcuts for the Organizer and the Editor, and restarting your computer.
The Editor's executable is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
The Organizer's executable is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
The Unwelcome Screen leaves a zombie process running which prevents the actual program from launching again.

Opening editor PSE 11

I have PSE 11. I loaded it from CD. I cannot open editor from the Welcome page, from the task bar, or from the drop down menu? Nothing seems to work. I did edit photos for 3 days, but not anymore. Any suggestions?

Please launch Editor exe keeping Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys pressed.
Say OK to the prompt asking you to delete settings file. This will reset your Editor preferences. Now launch Editor and see if this works.
If not then please check task manager/activity monitor for any PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe. Kill it if there. Now launch Editor exe using right click >> Run as Admin.

You would get the redemption code, or perhaps even the serial number, from whomever you purchased the software from, apparently Amazon, so talk to them. This wouldn’t be the first time they’ve sold something that didn’t have all the numbers needed to license it.
A redemption code is something that is usually on the inner disc packaging if you purchase the media in a box, and there is a barcode on the outside of the packaging that must be scanned at the checkout register to activate the hidden inner code so you can redeem it at home on that website. This is what happens if you buy PSE from a brick-and-mortar store like Best Buy. I don’t’ know what happens if you purchase the downloaded version as I have never done that.
A redemption code is 24-digits of letters and numbers that you enter into a website to get a serial number, once and only once. The serial number of only 24-digits, no letters, is what you enter into the software during the install or when you run it and it asks if you want to register or run in a trial mode—whatever the exact phrasing is.
In any case it sounds like you don’t have either a redemption code or serial number—although perhaps something is listed on the purchase confirmation or your account online at Amazon or even in an e-mail from Amazon.

Opening files in PSE from iPhoto - Saving issue

I opened my files to edit in PSE10 directly from the flagged folder in iPhoto. I noticed it was saving them to a weird numbered file but kept going. I can't find the folder ANYWHERE! How can I recover my edited pictures?

I'm not sure what you're doing but you have two choices when using iphoto with PSE:
1. Set PSE as your external editor, send the photos from iphoto and save, not save as, without changing the name or format. You will have to go to the PSE preferences>saving files>on first save and set it to save over existing file to do this. Then you should see the edited photo in iphoto. iPhoto will remember your last edited version and you can revert to the original at any time, but you will have to lose the edited version to do so.
2. Export the photos from iphoto, use file>open in the PSE editor and then make as many changes to the name or format as you like. You will need to import the edited file to iphoto as a new image, but this lets you save as many versions as you like.
The one thing you should never do is to try to save anything into iphoto from outside iphoto. That's the fastest track there is to corrupting the iphoto library and losing all your pics.

How to open AWR in PSE 12 running on XP

I am running Windows XP and understand I must use DNG converter to open AWR files in PSE 12. I have downloaded DNG converter, but still do not know how to open the AWR files. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

The dng converter converts the files to dng copies which can then be opened in pse 12.
For example, in the dng converter dialog, for the source folder you point to the folder with your sony rx100 images and then for destination, choose that folder or a different folder.
Then the dng converter converts your images to dng copies, which can be imported into the pse 12 organizer or opened in the pse 12 editor.
Another thing you could do is install the 8.3 dng converter (to install the needed profiles) and then copy the camera 8.3 plugin to

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 12\File Formats
to replace the existing camera raw.8bi already in that folder, then you could just open the native sony rx100 files without the need for the dng converter.

After you download the 8_3 Camera Raw.zip, extract the folder and copy the camera raw.8bi file to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 12\File Formats
Then hopefully you should be able to open your sony files without having to use the dng converter.

Change default editor to PSE 9

I installed PSE 9. I am unable to change my default editor from PSE 5 to 9. PSE does not show up in my list of recommended programs, so I browse to PSE9 editor and click on it. The change is not made, and everything continues to open with PSE 5

This happens at times. Here's how it should work for you. First, rename the PSE 9 Editor application to let's say, 'Adobe PSE 9 Editor.exe' and then, try changing the file association by going to the file properties.

Actually, if you want the pse 8 organizer to read jpeg 2000 files as well you can use the jpeg 2000 plugin for photoshop cs4

Unzip the PSCS4Optional_LegacyPlugins_WIN.zip and then unzip the Optional_Plug-Ins_Release_Win32.zip
(unzip the files to somewhere other than the program files, such as your download folder)
Then copy the JPEG2000.8BI to
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 8.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats
and to
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements Organizer 8.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats
then both the pse 8 editor and pse 8 organizer should open and read the jpg 2000 file format.

Adobe premiere Elements 12 will not open editor

I had Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on my laptop and worked fine. Decided to upgrade to Elements 12 and did but version 12 will not open editor, says sign in, I sign in but no editor. Organizer opens and loaded my Photos and videos. I purchased full retail version for download. My laptop runs windows 8.1 and has an Intel Core i5 dual core processor and 4GB ram.

Have you gone to Computer/Manager/Event Viewer/Windows Logs/Applications and looked for error entries that appear to be associated with this problem?
Did you purchase Photoshop Elements 12 as well as Premiere Elements 12, and does Photoshop Elements 12 Full Editor open whereas Premiere Elements 12 will not open to its Expert or Quick workspaces?
You have probably tried it, but can you open to the Premiere Elements workspaces from the Elements Organizer workspace?

Have used PSE 10 successfully for quite awhile. Can no longer open files in this program. Choose, "open file" in PSE 10 and nothing happens.

This is normally to do with activation. You need to contact Adobe directly using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:
1. Adobe Photoshop Elements
2. Serial number issues or activating my product

Problem in opening editor in Oracle 11g release 2

I have Install Oracle 11g release 2 on my 32 bit windows OS.
But I am having Little problem while opening editor
1) when ever i am typing ed in sql prompt I am having error
   Cannot create save file "afiedt.buf"
   How ever i have tried with the define editor command
   ie define_editor="Notepad"; the command is executing successfully but still i am having same error while typing ed
2)My second problem is i am not able to select anything for copy and paste even
   right mouse click button is also not working for paste
Please Suggest any solution soon...........

sir i have one more doubt
suppose my select statement is resulting some 4000 rows but i am only able to see the last
2500 to 4000 rows by scrolling up and down after the select has been made. I am facing this problem in 11g r2 only.
In 10g there was no such problem
so i want to know how to increase the size of sqlplus prompt so that i could see the entire
selected rows by scrolling up and down
