Opening Elements 12 problem
I am running Windows 7. When I tried to access Photoshop Elements12 it looked as though it was starting to open, the icon was going round but then nothing. The same happened with Premiere Elements 12where it opened as far as the opening page but again when Organiser was selected the loading 'bar' rotated and then nothing else happened. I tried Adobe support who tried a variety of solutions including loading Application Manager and logging in under a new user name but that failed also. However I did manage to get a couple of error reports as follows:

I recently installed a store bought version of Elements 10 on my comptuer and after installing it I can only open the organize tab. I can't actually open a new project to edit anything, which basically makes the product useless to me. What can I do to fix this?
Well now I feel kind of dumb.. apparently I wasn't seeing that file. I was creating shortcuts to 'Adobe Premier Elements' In the C:\Program Files\Adobe folder there are six folders: Acrobat.com, Adobe Premier Elements 10, Flash Player, Adobe Help, Elements 10 Organizer and Reader 10.0

That shouldn't be a problem, that's the Active File Monitor which Organizer uses to watch folders for changes. Just to confirm, when you look in this folder"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10"you do see this file:PhotoshopElementsEditor.exeas well as 77 others? Ken

Problem opening elements 9 organizer..it says "Runtime Error!" . How do you overcome?
On going problem. When I try to go to "Organize" in Elements 9 I get a window saying:
Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:/Program File...
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Is this an Adobe Elements problem..or a windows problem ? I don't seem to find anything that will tell me what causes this, and more importantly, what to do about it.

Hi. My photoshop elements 12 has suddenly stopped working. When i tried opening it yesterday absolutely nothing happened. After a reinstallation I got to choose between opening picture browser or photoshop elements and when trying to open elements nothing happens. Now I have reinstalled windows but still with the same result. I was using the program for several months without problem until yesterday when it suddenly stopped working. Any suggestions on what to do?

Ho do I convert my Elements 5 Catalog to Elements 13 which I just purchased. I followed one of the tutorials and converted my Elements 5 Catalog to a "pse.13db" file. How do I get Elements 13 to recognize that converted file? When I open Elements 13 Catalog Manager and browse to the correct location, it doesn't show the file. Help! Thanks

You can't merge catalogs (even PSE13 ones) in any PSE version (only LR can do that). So, converting catalogs is not the solution to your problem.
Since you have PSE5 working on your computer and your images also, the solution is to 'write metadata to files in PSE5) and to re-import the images in the PSE13 catalog. That won't duplicate your image files and you'll lose albums/collections, stacks and version sets, but you'll recover tags, captions and ratings.
To be able to re-import the files indexed in PSE5, you may have to move them to a new master folder.
I am not sure what your problem with the conversion may be. It's quite possible that the resulting catalog.pse13db is ok and that the issue lies in the ability to open it in the PSE13 organizer.
As stated by dj_page, double clicking on that file should open the organizer with the new catalog. You could test that by creating a dummy catalog in PSE13 and importing a small batch of photos. Locate the path of the catalog with the menu Help/system info. Copy the catalog.pse13db in another folder and the 'double click' way to open the organizer with that moved catalog database.

On opening Elements 2, color picker and hexadecimal values not working.
On opening Elements 2, foreground color is white but changes to yellow if a file or image is opened. Checked hexadecimal values and they are the same. Any ideas as to what has gone awry or what can be done to correct this? Operating system is Windows XP.
Barbara, thank you! We've had computer problems lately and obviously something was reset during repairs creating the need to reload. For now everything seems to be working OK. Appreciate your help!

I have Vista and Elements 10. The help desk had me transfer my catalog
file to the desktop and it worked.

CAN'T OPEN ELEMENTS. Just downloaded Elements 12 into a folder in My Pictures. I got no icon and cannot find a way to open it. Also, it was not listed in Program files, only the download assaistant. Jold
Jeff, Windows 7 and Photoshop Elements 12. I think I found the
problem. On a second download, I got a message that the download was
incomplete. In looking at the trouble shooting site, I realized that I
had not disabled my security software. I will do that 1st.

Clearly something is blocking the main user(administrator) from opening the iTunes programme and I cannot find a solution.
Many thanks for your reply. Yes I carried out the suggested procedure in safe mode , which did not resolve the issue and so this is what led me to set up a second User account. iTunes opened without problem in this second account and so I looked at the User-specific troubleshooting but I just could not locate the iTunes Preference files no matter how much searching I did.
I also tried uninstalling and re-installing but the problem persists. Would be very grateful for any further advice.

I have installed Elements 13 on my Mac but can't see how to open it. When I click on the disk icon on the desktop it takes me to an information page that gives no information about opening Elements 13. How do I open the software so that it can be used?
Unfortunately, when I open applications, adobe photoshop elements 13 folder does not appear in the adobe folder. It appears as a disk on the desktop, only.

I have been having a issue with getting the colors on my monitor to match the colors fro my print lab. I now have the monitor calibrated to match the prints but when I open elements it doesn't use the same colors. If i have it use the calibrated profile by changing the color management settings, the color picker no longer shows true white or black. How do I get elements 12 to honor the new calibrated settings?

I don't know that these are the errors , but they're the things which don't look right ...
Throughout the shut down there is a recurring line ;
It says ;

Then there are 2 more which I think are related ;
Com.apple.securityd 29 PID job has I overstayed its welcome , forcing removal.
Then the same with fseventd 48 and diskarbitrationd 13
Oh and on Launchd1 : System : stray anonymous job at shut down : PID 301 PPID13 PGID 13 unmount...
Then the last process says "about to call: reboot (RB_AUTOBOOT).
Continuing...
And stops ...

Open NAT problems with Xbox One .
When I first got my 1900ac I used Media Priortization to get an open NAT for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on my Xbox One ; prioritizing the Xbox . It worked fine for about 6 months until I changed cable/net provider to Nextech in Ks. This company uses the 1900ac to hook up it's system for all it's customers ( since I already had one they're using mine ). Unfortunately I'm unable to get an open NAT in this game anymore ; I've tried just about everything , NAT forwarding , triggering , Media Prioritization . Nextech support & Xbox Live support , useless . Tried Portforward . com , nothing . Forwarding port 53 cuts off net connection & doing the static ip change for Xbox didn't help . Almost everything I've looked at seems out of date & I'm at my wits end . It would seem by now Linksys should have solutions available , any ideas ?
Thank you chin_pamz13 for your response . I tried to check if my modem had a public or private ip address but I'm not sure how to do that ; I've read about double NAT's elsewhere . Regardless , I think I've finally found a solution that seems to be working so far . I went to the website " tech - recipes . com " & found an article , " Xbox One open NAT " by Aaron St. Clair . I tried his first suggestion about port triggering , with extra ports I had'nt seen before . That did not work for me so I followed his instructions for putting the Xbox in the DMZ & it's working ! I think my problems from before were the result of improperly setting up the static ip address for my router & Xbox . Previous instructions had me changing the ip in the console along with the router ; Aaron said not to do so in the Xbox , let the router do the work it's supposed to do & make sure the settings in the console are on automatic . In the router at the DMZ , I was'nt sure how to proceed , but at the bottom is a section labeled DHCP reservations list ; clicked on that , saw XboxOne , clicked on that & it filled out the MAC address above for me . Then I went to the Xbox network settings , advanced settings & clicked " automatic " at ip address , subnet & DNS . I checked mutiplayer connections & did the " hold bumper & trigger buttons " trick & finally got an open NAT ; fired up CoD Advanced Warfare & got the open NAT there also . I may have screwed up when I did the port triggering but since the DMZ fix seems to work I'm going to leave things alone . Hope this helps others with open NAT problems .

When opening Elements 12, I get a message that catalog is locked by another user. No other applicatrions are open and computer was restarted
Yes, I've seen this happen when the form contains a multi-line text field. What happens is that applications generated with the Web PL/SQL generator do optimistic locking by saving a copy of the original contents of each field in hidden fields. When you save the form, it calls the lck procedure in the TAPI, and passes the data from the hidden fields. In theory, if no-one has changed the data in the database since you first saw the form, the data in the hidden fields will match the current data in the database. This works fine for data that has no linefeeds or carriage returns. Unfortunately, if you have a long text field that may contain linefeeds or carriage returns, the browser may have changed the whitespace in the hidden field so that it no longer matches what is currently in the database.
My current work-around is to do a post-generation change to the TAPI's lck procedure, so that it replaces all whitespace characters (tab, lf, cr, etc.) with spaces, and changes multiple spaces to single spaces in both the input data and the data from the database, so that they will only fail to match if the actual readable data has changed. Yes, post-generation changes are a pain, because you have to remember to do them EVERY time you generate - I usually put a reminder in the Comments on the item.
Unfortunately, Oracle is not going to fix this because Designer is a "mature" product. I'm thinking of writing my own TAPI generator and my own Web PL/SQL generator that uses SCN (system change number) for its optimistic locking. -
Windows error notice when trying to open ELEMENTS download in MacBook Pro
I successfully downloaded ELEMENTS 11 onto my Mac desktop, and it works fine. I then attempted downloading onto my MacBook Pro, and it appeared to download all elements of the bundle appropriately. However, when I try to open ELEMENTS, it shows a box (like DOS language) and tells me I can only open it in windows. What do I need to do to correct this?
I attempted downloading my second copy direct from Adobe. It went through
the process of "downloading bundles" etc, took about 30-45 minutes to
complete, then gave me an "Installation Successful" message. However, there
is no Elements application icon on the computer, and I cannot find anywhere
the program downloaded to. There are only two files showing in "Downloads",
and they are PhotoshopElements_11_LS15.exe and .7z, 1.3 MB and 1.06 GB
respectively. Clicking the .exe file brings up a msg saying "this program
must be run under Win32, and the 7z file comes up with the message that
there is no application to open the document. Other than that, there are no
other Photoshop/Adobe application files to be found. -
