Opening Folders in Portal Launches Content in Same Window...

Hi All,
I currently have some reports in my Portal which are of the following format:
Role
Workset
Homepage
> Folder 1
Report a
Report b
> Folder 2
Report Y
Report Z
When a user clicks on the arrow next to the workset, >, it drills down correctly and displays the reports directly beneath the folder WITHOUT launching any of the reports. Thus, the Homepage remains on display and the user can see the reports in the folder.
However, if the user clicks on the actual name of the folder, i.e. FOLDER 1, it launches Report a rather than simply display the content of the folder. Thus, the Homepage disappears and the Portal tries to launch the report in the portal content area rather than a new area which we have specified at the iView level.
Where would I change this behaviour?

The back and forward arrows are to go to the last opened folder and the next.
They function EXACTLY like the back and forward arrows in Safari.
Finder can't do tabs.
Try pathfinder, as the other poster recommended.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

This is not a Java problem, this is a WEBBOT problem.
I suggest that you research the topic in your FrontPage help files.

Open UWL items by default in the same window

Hi All,
Appreciate if you could let me know if the following scenaio is possible?
When the user logs into the portal he will be seeing the "Inbox' page which is nothing but a standard UWL iview.
We have a task(TS001) for example which appears in the "Tasks" tab. Selecting an entry displays the following:
- Details
- Logged-On User Information
- Current View Information
- Current Navigation Information
- Current Item Information
All these are fine. Clicking on the "Subject" line, results a new window being opened fir the manager to either "Approve" or "Reject" the leave.
What I would like to do is:
I want the same window (that has opened in a new window) to be opened by default in the same window just beneath the "- Current Item Information". Meaning, selecting the row, should display the webdynpro iview in the same page rather than actually clicking on the "Subject" link.
Hope it's not too confusing....

Is opening the workitems by clicking on the subject in the same window an option? I can help with this.
Within the xml files you can use the parameter called launch in new window. You can set this to No so that when you click on the subject of a task, the content that opens, stays opened right in the main part of the portal.

Open Form Based On A Table in same window

Hi All,
First to make things clearer I'll explain what I CAN do:
Create a page which queries a session variable at the start and then
depending on its value outputs different HTML, but always in the same
format and more importantly the same window, to keep the look and feel etc...
I have a link in a page which when clicked opens a form using wwa_app_module.link
so it auto queries the form. This works fine.
What I CAN NOT do is:
The form was created using the "form based on a table wizard" and always opens
in a new window.
Can I make the form open in the same window that contains my wwa_app_module.link?
Is this possible in a newer version that I have (I got Release 1)
Any Suggestions?

I have a form which contains a link similar to the one below:

Could we open many pdf files in tabs in the same window in stead of many standalone pdf files?
In other word, open pdf files in tabs like in a web browser ! This is very handy feature which is already available in Foxit reader !

I can't open a new tab up in the same window when I click the little + sign next to the first tab. How do I get that to work on FF4 for Windows Vista?

I have a Sony Vaio labtop with Windows Vista, just updated to the new Firefox and now when I go to add a tab in the same window, it won't allow a new one. I clicked the + button/tab thing a bunch of times and nothing happens. What can I do to fix this? I'm not very computer literate so step by step directions would help alot. Thanks for any help.

Want to open a abstract portal component in a popup window

i have created two abstract portal components and corresponding jsp files, say a.jsp and b.jsp in a project.
i have written a javascript "OpenNewWindow" in a.jsp. and i am calling it when user clicks on a link to b.jsp
i have used window.open() function in that script. and i hae passed <project name>.<component name> as parameter to the function.
the output opens a new window with all, masthead, toolarea and b.jsp. But i want only b.jsp to popup, without masthead and toolarea.
can you please help me out?

Check the XSL for "_blank" used a target window and replace is corresponding to your needs.

Tabs and Opening Folders in Finder

Taking advantage of Maverick's tabbed Finder in fullscreen mode would logically exclude behavior such as double-clicking a folder resulting in the opening of a new Finder window. That makes for (for me) the same annoying search around with Finder windows that I had in 10.8. By definition, the ability to constrain all new windows to a nice, neat tabbed format should be an option. After all, Safari behaves that way unless I really want a new window for some reason. I typically run many apps at the same time, sometimes give presentations, and I dislike clutter. While the new Finder is a long awaited improvement, it needs a new optional default to always open in tabs in the preferences. You could then use Cmmnd-N if you wanted a new browser.
I realize that holding Command while double-clicking a folder results in its opening in a new tab, and I'm slowly getting used to doing that while working in the new Finder. But changing the default is such an easy fix, and I hope it comes out with the next upgrade.

Using [Command]-[T] opens a new Tab in Finder, as does right-clicking a desination folder and choosing "Open in New Tab".
Thanks, yes I appreciate your suggestions. I was amiss not to mention right-clicking (rather clunky for simply opening in a new tab I think), and yes all of those things do work in full screen mode.
What I also neglected to mention is that there is + button to add a new tab, but only when you have at least two tabs open. I think it unintuitive and odd that the designers chose not to implement the + button on every new Finder window. As it is now there is nothing. For starters, you have to know that Finder is capable of tab-browsing, then you either have to make a new tab with Cmnd-T or by going to the File menu (sixth option down). Not very intuitive.
I remember hearing a rather exasberated Steve Jobs explaining to users that they could "go ahead, make as many windows as you want" in reference to compromises made for the then brand new OS X Finder. He wanted something like we finally have now in Mavericks- elegant, smooth file management all in one window. Well, it's all pretty much there now except 'open folders in new tabs' instead a 'new window' default.

Search results link which open in same window

i want to open the search result documents in the same window as the search result. Therefore i edit the field 'Target Window Type' in the SearchResourceRenderer to 'SELF' which is used in the SearchResultLayoutSet.
But the document also is opened in a new window.
What i have to do?

Open references of other list items from a list item in the same window or tab

We have migrated from lotus notes to sharepoint. We have converted the lotus notes forms to sharepoint forms. Basically the list items are pages and there are links of other pages in a page.
My problem is I want to open the other pages in the same tab or window and not in a separate window.(currently the links open in a separate window which is not the requirement.)
In terms of sharepoint I would say,
I have references(links) to other list items of the list in a single list item. I want to open the other list items in the same window (tab).
How can we achieve this?? If possible without much codes??

How do i get firefox to open with the same window size every time, even if the last instance I had open had a different window size because I resized it??

My firefox opens new windows with a size that equals the current window I have open, or if I have no window open, the last window I closed. I would like to have it open windows the same size every time, regardless of what size the current window is, or what size the last window I closed was. I cannot find a setting or addin to do this anywhere. I have resizer which lets me change the size, but it is annoying that I can't have a default size for windows being opened. I open windows in new windows, not tabs.

Right Click- About Dashboards in Same Window

When we right click on SWF file , I see "About Dashboards" button. And this button takes us to below SAP portal in a NEW WINDOW.

Exit from ABAP FPM application to anothor WD application in same window

If anybody can please suggest how to exit an FPM application to another WD component without using suspend mode.
I did following coding in the process event but this opens target wd abap application in the same window. But the problem is below code uses suspend method for FPM application hence there are performance issues.
