Opening Image Window defaults

When I open images in photoshop(windows, not tabs), why do the image windows open far left? Each time I edit I have to drag to center and enlarge. Is there any way to change defaults to have images open centered and full screen?

I use the very same script. In Photoshop Preferences > Interface I have "open in Tabbed mode" checked. There tall images center against a dark background
If I have my documents open as separate windows, as when I uncheck the Application Frame on my Photoshop Mac, then the image window opens to the left.
So it's "Tabbed mode" and Window menu > Application Frame checked on.
Of course that does not fix your dilemma if you must use Document Windows instead of Tabs. So I will link you to two scripting venues for a possible solution.

Though there are already quite a few threads on this issue

the behaviour of Photoshop CS4 to always open images on the main monitor by default still wasn't changed with the 11.0.1-Update.
So my request is to simply reinvent the old behaviour all PS-Versions from (at least) PS 3.0 to CS3 had:
open images by default on the monitor THE USER has decided to use as his/her PS-monitor (and not automatically on the System main monitor).

Has this been fixed on Photoshop CS5?
I'll be sticking with CS3 until we get back what used to be default...
(bought CS4 Photoshop upgrade when it came out, went back to using CS3 after a while)

Open Image Canvas Bug

It's possible to move an open images window to the top such that the window-handles are behind Photoshop's interface, and you can no longer grab it to move. The only solution I have is closing and reopening the file. Does anyone else know how to deal with this?

Turn off application frame Window/application frame - and use Full screen mode with menu bar (press F key). When you turn this off it will stay that way as default.
The whole Application Frame setup is very anti-mac, and frankly both in terms of visual logic and usability, not really a move forward. This is if you take into account, and know how to use, certain mac features like Exposé.

Photoshop CS6, Mac OS, switching through open images with OS command no more possible

Using Photoshop CS6 (13.0.1) on a Mac Pro OSX v 10.6.8 it is no more possible to switch through open image windows with the OS related key combo "command <".
There is also no Photoshop own configurable command available, that could solve this issue.
CS5 or versions below always allowed that, and I very much miss this practical and fast switching between images, much faster then having to maneuver down through the "windows" menue.
Anybody knows a solution?

PS CS6 zoom sometimes affects all open images

I'm trying to figure out how to replicate this issue. This is on Win7 x64 with PS CS6. On an infrequent basis, when I zoom in on one open image, the same zoom magnification will be applied to all the other images I have open. When this happens and I have several image files open, you can imagine it's annoying to have to reset the view for all those open images.
It looks like the zoom inheritance sometimes happens when I drag a layer from a zoomed-in image onto another open image window that's at a different zoom magnification. But it doesn't happen every time.
If this is a "feature" please tell me how to avoid or disable it.

Can default opening position of image window be adjusted in Photoshop CS5?

When having to deal with large numbers of files any repetitive task on each one, no matter how small, becomes tiresome and is the reason why actions came into being. On opening an image its default position is to the extreme left edge of the screen but in a position slightly behind the tools menu. Although double clicking the hand tool rectifies this it should not be necessary. Is there a way to make a small offset adjustment to this default position as well as make the image auto adjust to fit screen on opening an image?

This has nothing to do with the actions, it's simply because you use an undocked UI. Use a docked workspace and neither of this is an issue - the files will open centered in the workspace and not be overlapped by any palettes.

Id, Ai, and Ps file types are associated correctly in Bridge CC and work fine, however, JPGs don't. When I click on the file thumbnail I get the following:
I no longer have Ps C5; all my apps are now CC.
I'd like to associate JPGs in Bridge CC to default to Windows Photo Viewer (that seems to work just fine, otherwise), but I cannot manually re-asscociate the JPG file types in Bridge CC because when selecting to choose the program in "Browse" (to set it to Windows Photo Viewer) the WPV folder is empty—go figure!! I don't get it.
Anyone have any ideas how to correct this?

Bridge default opens images in After Effects.

I am working in Bridge CS 5 (4.0.5.11) on a Mac Pro OS X 10.6.8. I am trying to open files (jpg, psd, bmps) in Photoshop CS 5 and the default is set to PS but Bridge is opening the images in After Effects. Where or how do I reset the default for files to open in Photoshop and not After Effects? When I right-click on the image the default is set to PS but still opening in AE.

I forgot to do so and had to recreate from scratch.
Downside from resetting prefs is indeed you loose some settings, I always recreate them from scratch and have done so often in the past that I almost can dream this. Plus side is in this way you will learn more about Bridge and its prefs and will become more used to it. Maybe even discovering things you never new of
I rely heavily on the folder panel and have only 4 main folders in the favorites that I also don't use very often. The folder panel gives you so much more overview and options, you should give it a try.

The Initial view setting works perfectly when the file is opened in Acrobat after setting the desired Initial View.
When you upload the file onto Wordpress, and view it on that website in the browser...it might be using a different pdf handler program which might be causing this issue ( it would be helpful, if you could provide the screenshot) , however when you download the pdf again from wordpress server...and open in Acrobat/Reader...then what exactly happens ? Does the pdf opens in the desired Initial View setting?

How do you make photoshop be the default program to open image files from bridge?

I just installed CS5.5 and tried to open some pictures but it keeps opening in Windows live photo gallery. I don't even see opening in photoshop as an option when I right click and scroll down to "open with" (for jpeg images). I never had this issue with CS3, bridge just automatically opened files in photoshop.

Opening image files in their own windows in PS4

Before PS4, I could open image files in their own windows. In PS4, when I want to open more than one file, these open with tabs and any new file I open is added to the tab queue. It is annoying to right click on each tab so each file is in its own window. Is there a universal preference to change this annoying behavior?

From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences (or Command + comma on your keyboard).
Click Tabs. You can set your preferences there.
