Opening Java Studio Creator
After I had successfully installed my Studio Creator last night, I opened the application briefly; it looked okay. This morning, I tidied up my folders and moved the application into a new folder using Windows Explorer. This evening, I tried to open Creator, but I got the message "Cannot load jvm.dll"! I then tried starting the Application server and Pointbase and neithe would open - they just blinked and went dead! Can anyone help? And by the way, I am using XP Pro.
I am eager to start using the apps.
Thanks to all that replied. I went through some not-so-nice experience before settling for reinstalling Creator. Even then, it proved difficult to uninstall - because the uninstaller could no longer find the program where it expected to find the programme. Even "Add/Remove" did not work! Fortunately, it's early days yet with my computer, and I'd already partitioned out a drive strictly for applications; so since everything is virtually new in this drive, I reformatted the drive using PartitionMagic, I also manually deleted the shortcuts to the previous installations and then installed everything fresh in the folders of my choice and I am living happily ever after. Thanks y'all. Famiukinolo.

Help needed with Sun Java Studio Creator and EJB in a Portlet Project

I have created an web-application with JSF in Sun Java Studio Creator 2. The web application uses a lot of EJB's which acts as the dataProviders. In a typical jsp page i have more that one data providers(the EJB's) getting used. When i run the project everything opens up properly in the browser and the application seems to be fine.
But when i create a JSP 168 Portlet project and do exactly the same thing for some reason the Apache Pluto(comes as the default Portlet Container with Studio Creator) conks off.
Then i started going ahead step by step:
1. First i created a portletpage and added only one dataProvider(EJB) and ran the project...It gets deployed properly in Pluto and the browser comes up and everything shows up fine.
2. Just to re-confirm i did the same thing with another dataProvider(EJB). So still we have just 1 EJB in the portlet page. As expected it also worked fiine.
3. Then when I added more that one dataProviders(EJBs) in the porlet page the Apache Pluto conks off(saying that Pluto is not available)
I tried doing a lot of things but nothing works...Surprisingly the same thing works when u create a JSF web Application project but the same thing does not work when u create a JSR 168 JSF Portlet Project...
Did anybody face the same problem..Is it a bug in the Studio Creator...Any help would be highly appreciated.Hi,

Problems with the resources boundles in java studio creator 2
I try to migrate a proyect from sun java studio creator 2 early access to sun java studio creator 2 but I have a problem, the resource bundle work in creator 2 early access but doesn� work in creator 2, somebody have the same problem?
and, the most important somebody could fix the problem?

one, or better THE, reason is the (drag and drop)

Using resource bundles is a MUST. So if this means I
cannot use the Design Editor in combination with
resource bundles, then I will use something else...
I think there should be a statement issued by the
SJSC2 team about this bug and what the timescale for
a decent solution wll be.

BTW: overall SJSC2 seems to be a good alternative to
develop an open source JSF application in a competing
timeframe.I agree. This bug is even more exacerbated by the fact that the error message is entered in the design form and generally clutters more room than was originally intented for the text. Not having i18n is a show stopper right now. Creator2 will have to fully support i18n before we can start using it. -

use the SessionBean. What do you want the servlet to do that the session bean can't?
I use the sessionbean because I don't know how to receive or respond to xmlhttpreq messages directly in my sessionbean. If you just need the standard http req/resp it doesn't seem like a servlet is needed. -
JSF conflict with Sun Java Studio Creator
I was trying to use JSF but when i was installing Sun Java Studio everything went ok but there was a step saying "Deploying Web Services" that tool a lot of time about 10 minutes. So i cancelled it and the Sun Java Studio Creator was working well then when i was running the small application it didnt do anything. I think something wrong with the application server. I uninstalled Sun Java Studio Creator and installed it again.
This time no problems in installation. Then when i was creating a new JSF application when i press finish an error(1) appears and the finish button is dimmed so i have to press cancel and another error occurs(2), but the project gives an error message(3)
I have been trying to solve this problem but i dont know what to do.Please check / post the Creator log file ( Tools -> Java Studio Creator Log File)

Java Studio Creator IDE Download Error
So I just watched a demo on the Java Studio Creator IDE and thought I'd go ahead and download it. So I followed the link from within the demo. I then had to create an account. That went just fine. After I got logged in, I went to the following url:

How to create frames ...! in sun java studio creator
Hello Every One,
How to create a frame set in java studio creator ...!
I prefer to run my entire applicaion on a window which comes out as a frame set, rather open in a browser. How to do that ...! if some one knows it help me out.
Basically this is what i am trying to do.
in my web page or frame i have an list box on the left
based on the values selected in the list the information is displayed on the right which has bunch of text boxes.
through me an idea how to do this using Sun Java Studio Creator.

SenthilAs of 1.0 Creator doesn't support creating HTML frames via the designer. However, it may be possible to edit the JSP source to include one by hand.

I'm developing a large program with about 100-pages. I found terrible to navigate by ApplicationOutline, Property Binding and Page Navigation.
1. ApplicationOutline should show subfolder structure hierarchically
2. Property Binding should open the page of the binding element, and hierarchical property should be alphabetically sorted
3. Graphical Page Navigation is just a game. I need only a tree view with add/delete management
of navigation-rule

Creator is only a preview and you should not try to use it with large web sites. The tool has so many bugs and performance lacks, many features seem not to be tested by Sun that it would be a waste of time. -
Webboard project using sun java studio creator 2
I would like to create a simple webboard using Sun Java Studio Creator 2. In the View Topic page, there are a subject and a message creator by the owner of the subject. Then there are messages reply by others. I use Table component to list all the messages. I put a Static Text and a Text Area component in a group panel. And put a group panel in a Table Column. I bind the the reply message with the Text Area.
My problems are...
1. The Text Area have the same value for every row.
2. I changed the Text Area to Static Text. The binding is successful. However, it cannot display multiline message. Please suggest a component that is more suitable to bind the variable lines message. I would like each row to have different height depending on the length of the message.

Using CSS Style Editor in Sun Java Studio Creator
I could not open the Custom Style Editor Window for the components in my Java Studio Creator. Thats means I can not enjoy any facilities as described at:

I reset my computer then reinstalled Java Studio Creator in the hope of solving this problem but the problem is unsolved.
My Java Studio Creator is a paid version and I am using a WindiosXP computer with SP2.
Please anyone help me to solve this problem. Thank you very much.I have been trying to update through the update center but I am getting the messame "Error: Unable to connect to the update center server" for the last couple of days.
I tried two/three times in the last one hour period and get the same message. (Now it is 10.30 am UK time 23rd May 2005)
I tried the choice of disabling the firewall before update effort and I am not using any proxy.
More advice regarding the update center and CSS style editor is very much appreciated. Thank you very much. -

if i develop application on my pc ( java studio creator with sun apps bundlled) is working perfectly,
but i migrated application to Tomcat Server ( Database the same - Oracle 10 g)
i can't show value ( as text) from datasoruce ( is in SessionBean1)

Thanks in advance for helping me to resolve the night problem :)Hi I found solution, i puted on the page a table -component (with brand new automaticly created dataprovider) , then i set properties visible= false for table, and now I can bind statictext with database field and deploy on tomcat server .
But i think it is not a elegant solution in page source i habe noused-code.

I tried with JDeveleper but i did'nt find this functionality (wich version do you prefered ?) , unfortunately i have to deploy my application on Tomcat. This is my study project, and i make this to become a Master of Techinal Univeristy ;), Deadline time is 30 th September :(

Web Service + Complex Type + Java Studio Creator

I am using Ubuntu 7.04 + Java Studio Creator 2 and i'm trying to use a webservice.
This webservice uses a Complex Type and was made in PHP.
I guarantee that this webservice is working with complex type because i've tested using a PHP client.
I have already worked with others webservices in Java Studio Creator using simple types!
So I went to Add Web Service, put the wsdl link, Get Web Service Information and then Test Method that uses Complex Type.
Then I gave a input value and when I submit i got this error:

How to do internationalization with Sun Java Studio Creator?

the Sun Java Studio Creator seems to be a great peace of software ;-) Currently I'm trying to design some forms for a hello-world-test-project. My question now is: how can I realize internationalization with property-bundles? I already managed it to create my own bundles, I set up a few locales (de, en, fr) and put in some "SayHello" Variables. But how can I associate my locale-variables in the .propertie-files with the value- or text-attributes of the UI-Components using the form designer?well... it's not working!
I created some locale-properties. Put a
<f:loadBundle basename="mypackage.mainlocales" var="messages"/>directly under the "<f:view>"-Tag as it is descriped in the manual.
But when I write something like

Unfortunately Sun Java Studio Creator 2 Update 1 doesn't support 1.5 source level. But You can try to download NetBeans IDE (from http://www.netbeans.org) and there with Visual Web project You will find the same functionality as for Creator. And 1.5 source level is supported by NetBeans.
