Opening lightbox .js files in dreamweaver

Trying to open the .js files downloaded for Lightbox. However
dreamweaver will not open them, quoting various different Windows
Script Host errors. Am I doing something really wrong here or could
the downloaded files be corrupt?
Thanks for your help.

Dreamweaver knows what *.js files are and should open them
properly either
way.

  • How can I open a cfm file in Dreamweaver CC using a Mac? Added to the Extensions.txt. Getting error adding to preferences-- file types.

I am trying to open Cold Fusion files using Dreamweaver CC. We've never had a problem with the versions before the Cloud. My co-worker can open using a PC, but I'm using a Mac. I can connect to the server and see the files, but when I open, it opens the file in text editor. I have tried adding the extensions to the Extensions.txt file (they weren't there previously), editing the MMDocumentTypes.xml file (the file type WAS in that file), adding to the Preferences-->File Types/Editors (I can add the extension, but when I try to choose Dreamweaver CC as the editor, I get an error "You cannot use Adobe Dreamweaver CC as an external editor. Please choose a different application."). When I right-click the file, I do not see an "Open With" option, only "Open".  Does anyone know of another trick that could make Dreamweaver CC more than an HTML editor for Mac?  I cannot us CF Builder - no approval for loading the extra files server-side to use that IDE.

    Have you tried these suggestions...

  • How can I set Fire FTP to open a .less file in Dreamweaver CS5?

I have it set so that double-clicking a file will open it in a particular programme.
For example, double-clicking a .css file will force Dreamweaver to open the file.
But I do not know how to make Dreamweaver open a .less file.
    Anyone any ideas?

  • Opening Fireworks .png file from Dreamweaver

Anybody have problems with the connectivity between Fireworks
and Dreamweaver? I have a Retail version of Macromedia Studio 8.
I've been designing a new site and noticed that my fireworks .png
file is not updating from my changes in Dreamweaver (probably
because I cannot open from the edit button in Dreamweaver.) When I
try to open the .png file from the Edit button at the bottom of the
Properties Panel in Dreamweaver it gives me an Error Message :
Unable to Launch. Please be sure that the application exists and
    that there is enough memory.
Obviously the only benefit of Macromedia suite is the
connectivity. Well, since I don't have it it is sucking. Was it a
misinstallation on my part? Anybody know what's happening here or
    how to fix?
    Thanks,

Copy the file off the server, then open it?
And what version of Photoshop are you using?  On what OS version?
Most likely this is a bug in the OS or server software that just shows up because of the asynchronous file IO used by Photoshop (to improve performance).

  • How do I open my CS4 files in Dreamweaver CS6

I just purchased the CS6 in the cloud and downloaded Dreamweaver.  I assumed that CS6 would see all my Dreamweaver files but it doesn't!  There are no files to open when I open CS6.  How do I get CS6 to recognize all my DW CS4 files and open them?

CS6 is very different from previous versions of DW.
You can create your site definitions manually by going to Site > Manage Sites or New Site>
Or you can export site definitions from CS4 and import them into CS6.

  • Cannot "open with" a htm file with dreamweaver :((

As the title states, I am trying to open my htm files with
dreamweaver, which should work as it worked before on another
computer. However, already when I installed dreamweaver on this
computer I got a message saying that my computer is a little
retarded, as although it's windows xp it does not have the latest
    update or whatever.
But anyhow, I don't see how this has something to do with my
problem (but maybe you do?) : If I right-click on the htm file and
then click "open with", dreamweaver is not listed as a program at
all. If I click browse and search for it manually, mark it &
click "ok" it still opens the file with internet explorer.... grr
Did anyone have this problem before? Is there a way to fix
it? Please, I'm very desperate here and your help is very very
    welcome!
    Thanks a lot!

is this file you want to open a local site folder?
    open dreamweaver.
    dw menu->site->manage sites
define a new site to the folder that contains this file.
then open the file from the dw Files Panel

Every time I try to open an html file in dreamweaver, the file starts to open and then crashes. I cannot get them to work. HELP!

    Hi,
Can you please share your crash logs.  Either you can copy it from the crash reporter dialog which comes up when application crash. You need to click on show details and then copy the logs which shows up. Or you can share the latest crash log created at  /Users/LIbarary/Logs/DiagnosticsReports/.
    Thanks!

  • Opening cfm file in dreamweaver displays unicode

hi. i'm brand new to coldfusion, and when i open a .cfm file
in dreamweaver 8, most of it is showing up in unicode. how do i
    make it legible?
    thanks!

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining Coldfusion
Administrator to me. My problem is that I've been giving an
application built by a 3rd party vendor, and my boss would like to
know how much we will be able to edit the application in-house.
They have given us all of the .cfm files and we host the server
running the app, so I have access to the dbs as well. But whenever
I try to open these .cfm files I see the encrypted characters. Is
there any way for me to edit these pages?

  • Since I upgraded, I can not open my email files. I've unblocked pop-ups, cleared history/cookies, etc. What's next

I installed Firefox 4. Now when I go to look at my emails I cannot open them. I've called my provider and they can, so it has to be something with this computer. I've checked all the settings I can think of- unblocked the pop-ups, cleared anything I can think of.

OK there is a solution to opening the .asp files in Dreamweaver whith a double click. The clue was here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6091711#6091711 for PC users.
HERE IS THE MAC EQUIVALENT: in the Finder, RIGHT CLICK any .asp file. select "Get Info"  Select "Adobe Dreamweaver CC" it may not show up at first, you will have the option to locate it in the Applications folder.
DON'T FORGET to click the button below: "Change All" forcing ALL .asp files to open within Dreamweaver. *note: I tried everything else listed, including installing the "ASPNet_Support.zxp" extension found in "DisabledFeatures" in the "Configuration" folder, which did cause the icons inside of Dreamweaver to actually appear as DW docs. However try the finder option first it may be the quick fix.
Here is the legacy extension insaller description: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5520693#5520693#5520693

  • How do I stop Dreamweaver from updating the Test server copy of a file when I open the local file?

The subject says it all. Every time I open a file, Dreamweaver connects to the testing server and uploads the local file to the test server.
I want to stop this behaviour.  It's annoying!

My testing server is IIS running on my local machine.
The "local" copy of the file is actually on a remote share.  I have the test server copy open in Notepad++.  The two files are identical save for on extra line in the copy on the testing server.  When I open the "local" copy in Dreamweaver, it shows me that some file activity is being done, and then Notepad++ tells me the file has changed and do I want to reload it.  If I do, that extra line vanishes.
When I check the file activity log, it shows that the file activity is complete.
I haven't mentioned the production server because it doesn't seem to be affected, but we do have one.

  • Error opening file in dreamweaver 8

    hi,
Excuse me for my english, I 'm French .
so, we have 4 computers (windows Xp 32 bits and Vista 32 et 64bits) wich have the same problem with dreamweaver 8.
I have installed the 8.0.2 update on all machine
When We open an html file from the computer, with images in a web server outside, sometimes the html code is ok but there is no image in the preview and there is a popup which said in french "aucune erreur ne s'est produite".
The file is not corrupted because if I close and open the file, it can be correct.
The same files can be OK or NOT. it is randomize.
If I want to see a preview with IE (F12) all is OK.
do you have an idear about this problem ?
    Regards

My web designers don't use site definition because they explain me that dreamweaver make a lot of change with links.
How can they use site definition with no impact on images links ?
That is incorrect, DW needs to create a cache of all the files being used in the website, so it can keep track of it.  It is very important that you/they create a site definition for every site you work on.
    Define a site:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/140/tn_14028.html
I think, the problem come from a time out with the image server.
Do you know where can I change this setting ?
In that case you would need to check with the hosting company/service where the site is hosted. There could be a problem there.
If you believe the image paths are correct, then it's not a DW problem I don't think.  However, if you upload your page links, then people can have a look and see if they see the same problem.

  • Can someone with Dreamweaver cs3 open a cs5 file?

    Hi:
Work just upgraded me to DreamWeaver CS5 but I work on files that I share with another web author and they have DreamWeaver CS3.  If I edit a file and save it in DreamWeaver 5, will the other author be able to open the file in DreamWeaver CS3?  I have not loaded my new software at work yet because I was afraid there might be a problem.    This is our work intranet so I need to be careful I don't screw the site up. We save our files with the extension .shtml.
    Thanks
    Jeff

Yes, provided you use DW's Check In/Check Out feature so that you don't overwrite each other's work.
There are no proprietary file formats like Microsoft Office.
HTML code is HTML code and can be read by any human being or text editor.
The only caveats are if you use emerging technologies such as HTML5. CS5 can handle that but CS3 will struggle.

  • Dreamweaver freezes everytime I open a certain file

Hi, I have this problem with a file that's very annoying. I'm working on:
    - a Mac OS X 10.7.3
    - processor 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    - Dreamweaver CS6 version 12.0 (mainly, but it also happens on CS3 too)
    - it's a 10 kb HTML file linked with:
    - CSS stylesheet and several images
    - and fontkit from squirrelfont webfont kit and google webfont.
    I have tried to :
    - delete the MacFileCache and the folder in my personal configuration,
    - uninstall and reinstall the program,
    - Disable Dreamweaver's Resolve To IP Address by modifying Adobe Dreamweaver CS Prefs file,
But it's still not working. I think it's something to do with my own file because I tried to open other files in dreamweaver and they worked just fine.
These happened not only in Dreamweaver CS6 but also the previous CS3.
The thing is I don't know how to put/display the codes in here...
Please help me,  I'm on my deadline so any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi, sorry for the late reply. The file is actually a homepage of my website, however there is no actual website since I'm only asked to create the homepage.
I can open it with text editor programs, but they only display the output not the actual source code...
