Opening logic 8 songs help!!

Question

My mate has recorded a song using Logic 8 Studio and sent me the disk. My problem is that I can't seem to open it. I have all the audio files but as there is no .iso file it won't open. The data arrange files that come with it don't want to associate with Logic Express. When I try I get a message saying that Logic recognises the files but can't open them as a song file.
Am I being stupid or is there another way to get this open in Logic 7 Express.
PS I can't sequence the audio file myself as they are broken up and also there are loads of them

While you can not import a logic 8 song into logic (Or logic express) 7.x, there is a way you can get the audio in.
If your mate exports the song as an open tl file, this can be imported into Logic 7 or logic express 7.
I've just knocked up a test track to try it and the results were good, though you will lose MIDI and instrument information, but any audio files and the relative positions of the audio regions will be preserved.
