Opening .msg (email messages)

When we try to open a .msg file (email message) thru Bridge the .msg file becomes an attachment in a new email message, rather than just opening the message so we can read it. We save client emails in a job folder and it is a real hassle to have to use windows explorer to find the .msg just so we can open it and read it. Bridge says it will open with Microsoft Outlook but it wants to attach the message. It would be GREAT to be able to open .msg normally. Thanks!!!

I did restart. Still does not download and display images. This worked fine until the 7.0.3 upsate. Thanks

• Unable to open my email messages on Firefox? How do I fix this?

I am not able to read my emails while I am in Firefox. This has happened about 8 days ago. I don't recall how this happened because I was able to use FF very well & never had any problems. I have been using Internet Explorer because most of my work has to be done on IE, the problem is that IE crashes too many times and its become very slow, I am just sick of it. I decided to use FF to read my emails & to do my PCH sweepstakes and play some games and maybe I would not get the screen crashing effect that I'm getting on IE. However, in order to get to do this I must open my email messages to proceed with the sweepstakes, but for some reason when I click on my messages nothing happens, they don't open up. How can this be repaird? I have even gone as far as deleting FF and re-downloading it again, but the problem still persists. I need help please!
I made a copy of my email screen to place in the box below, but it is not allowing me to paste? I tried clicking on install but all I got was an error message that it could not open up this document because it needs to know the creator. I've tried to open with different programs but it just won't work. Can anyone please give me some assistance?

• Mail doesn't always open an email message on first try

Hello Discussion Board,
I have an issue where Mac Mail doesn't always open an email message on the first try. This is happening on two of my Macs and I seem to remember this starting with the installation of Mavericks, but I'm not entirely positive about that. It may have been happening before Mavericks.
This issue does not happen with every message I open, and it seems to happen with random messages at random times, so it's tough to pinpoint exactly what triggers th problem.
I'm not sure if it's one of these non-default settings that I use:
1) I keep the message preview window closed so that I only see the list of email messages. (I keep it closed by sliding the edge where the message list and the preview window meet, all to the right).
2) I keep "Use Classic Layout" checked in my Mail Preferences.
3) I keep "Organize by Conversation" deselected in the View menu.
I've tried restoring these defaults and I can't replicate the issue but obviously, having the preview window open eliminates the need to double-click the message to open. However, double-clicking the emails opens them right up. I'm still testing this, however, I just started testing and as I mentioned previously, I prefer to have Mail configured differently.
Has anyone else come across this issue and discovered the culprit?

Did you ever solve this problem? I have the same issue on two different iMacs, one at work and one at home and on my macbook pro. It's becoming irritating and I wonder why Apple can't be bothered to fix it.

• I have not been able to open any email messages since I installed Mavericks. Please help.

I have not been able to open any email messages since I installed Mavericks. Please. What do I do now?

Gee whiz, buddy. Thanks a lot. I just lost ALL of my messages!!!!!!!!!
Now what?!!! My anger at your "advice" is beyond what can be expressed without destroying my keyboard.
May you live your own advice.

• Why opening an email message the screen Of iPad disappear and become Black?

I am wondering Why my iPad When trying to open an email message the screen almost immediately become Black Simeone gas and hint? Thank for help

Sounds like something is fouled up. First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't work you might have to see an Apple Genius at an Apple store.

• How can I open multiple email messages with a single click?

On the Mac mini I use at work, I can select several email messages at a time and open them all up by double-clicking the mouse pointer on any of the selected messages. My MacBook Pro at home seems to lack that functionality, even though both are running the same version of Yosemite. In order to open up multiple messages (each, in its own window) on my MacBook Pro, I need to double-click on each individual message, even though I have multiple messages selected on my MacBook Pro, using Yosemite's Mail app. I assume there is an optional setting that can enable multiple messages to be opened by double-clicking on a single selected message, but I have looked through the Mail app's preferences and I come up empty handed. Can someone please clue me in on how to get this functionality on my MacBook Pro?

Hi,
There is another similar icon named Bookmarks in the '''Customize''' window which provides the said functionality. You have to add that.

• Unable to open certain email messages

Hi,
I've configured my gmail account on nokia messaging on my 5800 XM. I get notified on new email and I've been able to get my emails as well.
But there is this weird problem with certain emails. When I click on the email, it retrieves the message switches to open that email, but immediately switches back to the list of emails. I've tried a lot of times, but this seems to happen consistently for some emails. Is there any reason why I'm unable to open certain emails?
(I don't really see anything special about these emails that don't open)
Regards,
Anand

• Email is not showing up - i can see there is text in my "preview", but when I open the email message, there is no text

My email is not showing up. I can see that there is text in the preview, but when I open the email, there is "to" and "from" and subject, but no text in the body of the email. ??

Try resetting your phone: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignore the off slider that appears first), then release. You won't lose any data by doing this.

• How do you open multiple email messages at the same time on Mail?

Hi,
are there any preferences to control how emails are opened from Mail client.
Currently I can only open one emil at a time and can not toggle between messages or even toggle between the inbox view and a single message. This is very frustrating especially if you want to toggle across multiple messages.
Thanks for the help.

Just figured it out - I can select multiple messages as you suggested when I am not in full screen mode.
So once I come out of full screen mode - then the multiple windows open.

• When I open an email message in a new tab it automatically opens a reply

I have two email accounts. In one account when I press "enter" or double click on a message it opens a reply to message. If I right click on the message and select open in new tab it opens properly. The other account opens messages correctly. I believe both account options are set the same. How do I get it to open messages for reading by just double-clicking again on that account?
I fixed it by updating the folders for archiving messages and for drafts.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

• I can't open my email messages in hotmail, how do I fix this?

I am able to open my messages when I am using Internet Explorer, but not Firefox. What do I need to do to solve the problem?

Uncheck the "sync mail accounts" checkbox. All that does is transfer your email settings from your computer to your iPhone. If the new account isn't on your computer it won't show up in that box. And if the account was manually added to the iPhone then the sync mail accounts won't do anything;it will only create a new account. All it syncs is settings, not messages.

• I cannot open my email messages

I have logged into my virginmedia email account and have several messages. I am unable to open them. The Help file says that my security must be incorrect.

Did this problem just start after a recent change (e.g., Firefox update) or have you always had this problem with the site?
Often if there are security reasons for a site not to work you will see an unfamiliar notification icon on the address bar to the left of the address. These may include a "shield" (more info on that one: [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]]). Can you find anything there and, if you click it, is there any helpful information?
More generally:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
Also:
Many users have recently become more aware of privacy and either made changes to their cookie settings or installed extensions that stop some information from reaching websites. While this reduces tracking, it also can cause some site functions to break.
As a test, try using the site in Firefox's Safe Mode in a Private Browsing window. This will help bypass restrictive cookie settings, as well as other filtering behaviors of extensions, to see whether those are a factor.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the small dialog that should appear, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Then open a private browsing window using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+p
* File menu > New Private Window
* orange Firefox button > New Private Window
In that window, try your email. Any difference?

• When I open my email messages all of the content of the message is gone. Is there a setting I should be changing to fix this?

I use Yahoo Mail. When I open up an email in Firefox, the content is not there. All I get is blank space. How do I fix this?

First have you backed up your computer, if you have and your iPhoto library is in the back up you have nothing to be concerned about. If you are not using at least Time Machine to back up your system then you should be concerned because well frankly that is simply bad computing practice and you risking all of your data.
As for the message you received all that means is your system was using an earlier version of iPhoto with the version of OS X you previously had installed and now that you have updated to 10.9.2 (Mavericks) your version of iPhoto has also upgraded and needs to get ready to import all of your pictures. If you have backup then you should be confident the upgrade will go through smoothly, Apple generally has very good instructions and will not give bad advice, second guessing them may be cautious but is generally unnecessary.

• Why can't I open my email messages in .Mac?

I have to click on the message 2-3 times before it opens. In some cases I can read messages by only clicking once. Any suggestions?
I'm using Mail 2.1.

Solved.
