Opening multiple .webloc files under Yosemite

If I try and open more than one .webloc file with Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25) under 10.10 (14A389), only one of the links load, and Safari throws a dialog that says:
You can’t open the application “Safari.app” because it is not responding.
For example, drag a few sites to your desktop - does seem to matter what they are or what content that have, select them all, and press command+O to open them (assuming Safari is set to your default browser). I have cleared all cache, all cookies, reset Safari, and disabled all extensions, all to no avail. If I click on them one at a time, all is well, and each weblog link opens in its own tab as expected per my settings. Sometimes two work, but I've never gotten three or more to work.
Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Just an update - I also noticed if Safari is "busy" (e.g. downloading something large), and I do a Spotlight or Alfred Web search, a Finder dialog appears saying "Safari is no longer open."

  • Open Multiple PDF files from Production order/Routing

    Hi Everyone
We are in ECC 6.0 environment. We have a scenario where multiple documents were attached to single operation and also at multiple operations. But when I was trying to open these PDF documents, only the last file was getting opened and closing the previous file. How can I open multiple PDF files at one time from Production order or Routing?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad,
from DMS standard I regret but such a functionality is not available. In the standard originals can be opened only one after another.
I think for realising this functionality an individual modificatoin is necessary.
    Best regards,

  • Unable to open multiple PDF files in Acrobat 9 Pro - Vista

I have a staff member that is unable to open more than one PDF at a time.  If a PDF is currently open and another one is selected the program will crash and close.  It gives a message stating the program has crashed and must be closed and also gives an option to check online for a solution.  Has anyone else seen this issue or know a fix for it?  Thanks in advance.

No. Starting with Acrobat 9 it is no longer possible to open multiple PDF files in the same window.

  • Not opening multiple RAW files

If i open a Raw file in Bridge, it opens up perfectly. Also my jpegs and tiff open in RAW, so no problem there. The problem is, that I cannot open multiple Raw files from Bridge into Raw with the option "open in Camera Raw" So the shortcut cmd+R ( I am on a mac) does not work. It says that Raw has to be opened at least once. I have been using Raw for years now so it has been opened multiple times.
I Can not seem to find a solution. I would really like to open up multiple edited Raw files at once, and in Raw give the order to rename them into JPEG. If you do that, you see Photoshop CC and a window that says how many convertions are left. So far so good...  but before, I was able to open up some new raw files in Camera Raw without having to wait for Photoshop to convert everything. Now I have to wait for a long time before I can make my new Edits. Can somebody please help me?
I am using all updated software.
    Ben

    Hello SSPRENGEL,
Thank you very much for your reply. My apologies for the mess up with RAW and ACR naming.
The situation is, that I can not open any file with CMd-R. I can open single files with CMD-O. But I need to open multiple files at ones with CMD-R. It used to work good.
The problem is, That I am in the business of school photography. I take the pictures as RAW files on an Nikon camera (nef) After I ajust all the pictures, I have to rename all of them to JPEG, just to get them online.
I used to do that with ACR. But now the problem is, if I open a lot of picures with CMD-O, It opens up very good in ACR and I still can give the command to save all of these as JPEG. It workt great, but I have to wait a looooooong time before I can open up my next batch of pictures and start to adjust those. Normally, it would save the files as JPEG and I was able to open up a new batch of pictures in ACR right away. That saves me A LOT OF TIME. This only works if you can open the files with CMS-R. Strange...
I updated my I-mac to 10.9.1 so I see that is not the newest. PS-CC is 14-2-1 x64 and I am using the beta ACR for now (8.4)
I just tried to open a RAW file in photoshop with the normal open command and it lauches ACR perfectly. But again from within Adobe bridge I still get the same error about needing to open a qualifying product at least once.
    Stange isn't it?
Thank you very much for your time!

  • Opening multiple movie files to play sequentially.

Currently, if I highlight several movie (e.g. .avi) files in a Finder window and then double-click on one of them, each of the files is opened in a separate QuickTime window and if I have "automatically play movies when opened" QuickTime preference set, then they all start playing simultaneously!
How do I change it so that opening multiple movie files results in them being played sequentially in a single window?
P.S. I have "Open movies in new players" preference is disabled.
P.P.S. For image files it all works correctly - they are opened in Preview and I get an option of starting a slideshow...

    Hi,
I'm not on a Mac at the moment to test, but I could have sworn you used to be able to open one movie, pause it and then drag and drop subsequent movies onto that window to append them to the end.
Give it a try. Sorry if I've been imagining things though

  • How do I open iMovie HD files in Yosemite?

Now that I've installed Yosemite I can no longer access all of my movies created in iMovie HD.  I've been told the only way to do it is to put all of my movies on an external drive, hook it up to an older computer, open the files, save as a QuickTime movie, and then import into the new iMovie.  Is there an easier way?  I can't believe I'm the only person who is locked out of all there movie files.

Find iMovie HD in your applications folder.
Right click on it, and select “Show Package Contents”.
You will then find a folder named "Contents”.  Open it.  Then open the folder named "MacOS”.
There you will find "iMovie HD".  Double-click on this, and iMovie HD will launch.
(  As best I can tell there is no reason for iMovie HD to not run under Yosemite.  I believe it is simply being misidentified as non-compatible. )

  • InDesign CS5.5 crashes when trying to open or create files on Yosemite

    Hi,
I've just recently migrated to a new iMac running Yosemite. Photoshop CS5.1, Illustrator 5.1 and Bridge 5.1 are working fine but I'm having major issues with InDesign CS5.5. Every time I try to open an existing file or create a new one the programme freezes and I have to force quit.
I've trawled the forums and have done everything mentioned including uninstalling/reinstalling, removing temporary cache files and preferences, removing Data Store, deleting the Adobe font list, and removing the SING component.
I ran Activity Monitor and have uploaded the details to Sample of InDesign - Pastebin.com and the Crash Report to http://pastebin.com/KdEEWadj
    Please help, I'm getting desperate!
    Thanks,
    Dan

CS5.x is not compatible to Yosemite. It may or may not run, if it does never without problems.
Adobe applications should never be installed via migration. It is always making problems in the long run. If you have done so, deinstall them immediately, run Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (available on Adobe's Website) and install any application from it original installer.
I recommend to upgrade to a CC subscription. CS6 might also work, but it is now very old and 2 to 3 versions after CS6 have been released. If you get a new system upgrade it is NOT guaranteed that it will work as CS6 is now at the end if not out of its product life cycle.

  • Losing Add-Ins When Opening Multiple .DOCM Files

Our engineers are opening some 2003 documents with macros and converting them to 2007 .docm files.  When they open up one file, the add-in toolbar is there with all the dropdown items and macros.  When they open another file, the toolbar is there
but no dropdown and macros exist on the toolbar.  Anyone can reproduce the issue on another computer.  We also tried turning on and off trusting the macros and the same thing happens.  Here is some of the different ways the engineer tried:
    In Word 2007:
I disabled the trusted location I added (My Documents).
I disabled Trust access to the VBA project object model.
I set macro security to Disable all macros with notification.
    Observations:
When I open the first document (*.docm) and enable the content the calculation toolbar menu items are present.
When I open the second document (*.docm) and enable the content the calculation toolbar is present with no menu items.
It doesn’t matter how I open the files (i.e., from Windows Explorer or recent files).
It doesn’t matter the order the files are opened as long as the macros are enabled in the order the files were opened.
If the first document is a *.doc and the second is a *.docm then this behavior is observed.
If the first document is a *.docm and the second is a *.doc then this behavior is
    not observed.
    I tried the following sequence:
    1.
    Open file A:
    a.
Toolbar present, menu items present, macros disabled.
    2.
    Open file B:
    a.
File A - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros disabled.
    b.
File B - Toolbar present, menu items missing, macros disabled.
    3.
    Enable macros in file B:
    a.
File B - Toolbar present, menu items missing, macros enabled (can run the macros manually).
    b.
File A - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros disabled.
    4.
    Enable macros in file A:
    a.
File A - Toolbar present, menu items
missing, macros enabled (can run the macros manually).
    b.
File B - Toolbar present, menu items
    present, macros enabled.
    5.
    Close File A:
    a.
File B - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros enabled.
    6.
    Re-Open File A:
    a.
File A - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros disabled.
    b.
File B - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros enabled.
    7.
    Enable macros in file A:
    a.
File A - Toolbar present, menu items missing, macros enabled (can run the macros manually).
    b.
File B - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros enabled.
    8.
    Close File B:
    a.
File A - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros enabled.
    9.
    Re-Open File A:
    a.
File A - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros enabled.
    b.
File B - Toolbar present, menu items missing, macros disabled
    10.
    Enable macros in file B:
    a.
File A - Toolbar present, menu items present, macros enabled.
    b.
File B - Toolbar present, menu items missing, macros enabled (can run the macros manually).
    I stopped after that…

Are the files all based off the same template and has that template been converted?
Click on Developer Tab, choose Document Template. At the top under Document Template, see what the template name is.
If the template is still it dot format, try converting it to the new format. Make a backup of the dot file first.
Under the developer tab, try attaching the converted template to the files and see if this makes a difference.

  • Open multiple .indd files

    Hello,
usually when I have to ask for opening a single .indd file I use something like this:
    fileToOpen = File.openDialog("Open a document");
    myDocument = app.open(File(fileToOpen.fullName));
But what if I have to open multiple files at once (eg. selecting them from the Desktop)?
I read from the Indesign object model that the "open" function of the "application" object can accept an array of files.. am I right?
    Thanks in advance

@lglmrc – the openDialog() method comes with another argument for opening multiple files. That argument is set to "false" by default.
Setting it to "true" is the key here:
    var FilesToOpen = File.openDialog("Open one or more documents", true);
    for(var n=0;n<FilesToOpen.length;n++){
        app.open(FilesToOpen[n]);
Alternatively there is the openDlg() method, that also comes with the second argument.
    See also:
    http://jongware.mit.edu/idcs6js/pc_File.html#openDialog
File openDialog (prompt: string[, filter: any=null][, multiSelect: bool=false])
Opens a dialog so the user can select one or more files to open.
Opens the built-in platform-specific file-browsing dialog in which a user can select an existing file or multiple files, and creates new File objects to represent the selected files.
    • If the user clicks OK, returns a File object for the selected file, or an array of objects if multiple files are selected.
    • If the user cancels, returns null.

  • Open multiple pdf files using Acrobat Reader?

Can we open and switch between multiple pdf files using Acrobat Reader?

Of course, but if it's Reader X or later each file will appear in its own window. This can't be changed.

  • Suddenly can't open multiple image files in CS5

I recently transferred LR 5.3 and CS5 (12.04x64X) onto a new PC (OS Windows 7 64-bit). Both programs are working fine individually. And single images in LR open just fine for editing in CS5. But when I try to open multiple images (to merge as a panoramic) or open multiple images as separate layers, nothing happens.  CS5 opens on top of LR, but the files themselves never open. No problems doing this a few days ago with my older computer (same programs, same operating system).
Any suggestions for fixing this would be much appreciated.

When you say nothing is showing up, do you mean it is as if you didn’t use File / Open, or is it more that there is something but it is gray or white or black without any image detail?  If the latter, perhaps something like a video driver update or system-level change has made things incompatible with how PSE11 tries to display images.
    Have you rebooted?
Have you reset your preferences?  You can do this by holding down Ctrl-Shift-Alt at the same time while PSE11 is starting up (or at least while the editor is starting up) and you’ll get a message about deleting the preferences file or not before you see the splash screen.   Various other key combinations will ask for an additional plug-ins folder or a different scratch disk location.  If you are going to delete your preferences file you might want to review the settings, first, in case there is something important you need to reconfigure once the preferences have been reset.

  • Cannot open multiple IE windows under VPC/WinXP

    Folks,
My apologies but I've searched the forum and cannot find instructions on how to make this happen...
I have VPC 7.0.2 and WinXP with IE 6.0.2 running on my PBook. I need to open multiple IE windows (or instances of IE) to access different business applications and cannot. The second window always opens with the URL of the current window (or current instance of IE).
Is there a fix? Many thanks...

Well, your advice was helpful in that it confirmed what I also thought should work... I would go to File, New, Window but now it seems that "sometimes" information (URL, even user data) is carried from a current window to a new one.
I have also had existing IE shortcuts on my Desktop not open to the URL they should, but to the current window's URL.
I hate intermittent problems, and I hate wasting this forum's members time as well.
I might try IE 7 and inflict more pain upon myself.

  • Bug in Preview in Snow Leopard when opening multiple pdf files at once

I receive 50-200 pdf files by e-mail each day. I have historically saved the pdf attachments to a folder, then selected all the pdf files in the folder (CMD A), then opened all the selected files in Preview (CMD O). After updating to Snow Leopard, downloading 34 pdf files to a folder, selecting them all, then attempting to open them all in Preview (using both CMD O, then File/Open, then File/Open With), the effort first opens 6 of the 34 files. Closing all then trying again results in 7 files being opened, closing all then trying again results in 8 files being opened, etc etc. Earlier today I had the same results, but eventually got a message asking if I wanted to open all in separate windows (I did) or a single window, and it opened all the files at once as I wanted. After shutting down, moving home, and receiving additional pdf files, however, back to the same open 5, then open 6, etc. problem. Anyone else having this problem or a suggestion on how to resolve?
    Thanks for suggestions,
    B

More info - apparently the bug isn't related to Preview, but to the attempt to open all pdf files in the folder with ANY program. After having Preview open 25 of the 34 files I was attempting to open, I then tried opening all 34 with Adobe Reader. It opened 26 (after Preview had opened 25). Tried again with Preview - it opened 27, then 28 with Adobe Reader. It doesn't necessarily open the FIRST 25 (or 26, etc) either, so it's difficult to work with the open ones, then go back and work with the remaining ones later.
